Every time I start to pull the trigger on a Peloton, I hesitate. I can’t justify $2k for a bike that based on all reviews is not better than a Kaiser M3i and $50 monthly for an app that I can otherwise get for $13. Just think this. I was torn as well. My brain told me if I pull the trigger on peloton it won't come any time soon. Then I think we'll if I have to wait ages then what's the point of it! Need to ride now :)
Thank you! I try to follow the Peloton and Stryde forums and overall, I would say people are very happy with both bikes. I think you would be happy with the functionality of both, but I will say if you are always circling back to how much you spent and holding the bike to that, it might make it hard to appreciate the bike. I guess what I am saying is the versatility of Stryde while offering much better pricing might reduce that dark cloud hanging over your head of knowing how much it costs.
I bought my Stryde based on a past review you did. I will say, I adore my bike. It’s the most consistent in working out I have ever been in my life! I look forward to it and even better, I get healthier day by day😊

Your videos are fantastic and very helpful. After much deliberation I decided to go with the Stryde bike. But have discovered one major CON to that bike. I can't get one because I live in Canada. I am so disappointed since it took me so long to come to that decision. Now back to square one. But thank you anyway for the great insight in your videos and hello from the north!
Had me fooled at the start there lol. Only issue I'm having now is with seat staying up (which is going to be worked on) and a little shaking at the bars. I've had to really tighten those wheels, was making a clanking sound. Couldn't believe how much power I needed to put into turning those so I could ride better out of seat. I'm glad I went with stryde. Did you see @therealspintray on IG is coming out with a pivot mod for the stryde screen and a tray!? That's going to make the stryde really outshine the peloton and myx.
LOL - needed to have a little fun with a video. So glad to hear it is working out well the the issues you have run into are improving. I have not heard of that mod but will have to try and get my hands on one to test out!

I wish I had some inside information to help you out but I don't. Their support has been awesome and I would honestly ask them. They might not provide exact dates but they might at least be able to give you an idea if anything is coming up relatively soon or not.
Warranty repairs on the Stryde bike are a real issue. After about 10 rides I needed to have the cables and monitor replaced (cables fall out easily and also have to be pulled out and reinserted to clear some of the glitches with the app, so there is alot of wear and tear on the cables and input jack). It has been over a month and I still have no update on when the warranty repair will be done. It may be a sharp looking bike and the unlocked tablet is a nice idea, but the low quality of the tablet itself and the terrible warranty service make me really regret the purchase. This was a replacement for an Echelon and, if I could do it again, I would buy another Echelon.
I have watch many of your videos. Spinning, smart, and workout bikes are quite the rabbit hole. So from watching your videos I have selected the Stryde bike to best fit my needs. But hold the phone because now I have found smart bike from Stages and Wahoo. Now my questions are do you have videos I may have missed on these smart bikes? Also have you ever used Zwift with the Stryde bike? Love the flexibility of Stryde but really love the build of Stages SC3 and SB20 (but SB20 $$$$ wow) but I'm not sure how to tie and screen into the spinning version SC3 because the price point is better. Hope you can help with some of this, thanks again your content is great!
Thank you so much Kyle! Stryde has a Facebook group and I believe they have discussed Zwift on the bike. I can't remember how well it integrated. I have not tested those bikes you mentioned but I did have the Soulcycle bike which I believe was based off the Stages bike. From a bike quality perspective, I thought it was a very nice bike and had some nice differences from the other bikes. I have not got into the Zwift side of things too much so I don't have a lot of great feedback to provide unfortunately. Best of luck with your decision!

So, here is where it gets tricky. You want to get the bike that you enjoy the features and not compromise to something else. With that said, the iFit bikes have the best scenic rides hands down (S22i\Pro-Form Studio Pro 22). They also are known to be more problematic with poor customer support. Although I am hearing the new version of the S22i may be better (I have not tested that yet). So, you have a few options. Get the S22i if you want the full experience (incline\decline, fan, push button controls, instructor controlled resistance), the Pro-Form if incline\decline is not a huge deal for you (Less parts to break and better cost), or get the Stryde if you don't mind losing the features I talked about but still getting the scenic ride content. Stryde is nice because you get a bike known to have less issues but still can do the iFit scenic rides. Downside is no incline\decline, instructor controlled resistance, and things like that. But you can do a lot of other things with it as well which is nice. After that, you have Velocore and Peloton which are amazing, but their scenic rides do not compare to iFit. Hopefully that helps you narrow in on the best option for you. Good luck!

Thanks Bob! I have not tested that in a while, but I don't think so. You can choose to install\use various platforms, but I don't think you get the functionality unless you are paying. Stryde support is really good though so drop them an email just in case I am wrong.

I want the platform flexibility which the Stryde provides but am fine with using my ipad or TV rather than an attached screen - thus the IC4. But the screen and cost aside - just based on the quality of the ride - is the Stryde a better bike in your opinion?(my apologies if you have already answered this). Thanks again
I was wondering - I have heard several complaints that handlebars shake or not very sturdy. Wondering if this is the case. Trying to decide what bike to get ???
@@Learnwithtravis thanks. I just got the stryde bike. I turned resistance up tonight and it makes a horrible grinding noise. The flywheel looks like its rubbing off centered. Any ideas. I’ve watched all your videos to help me make this decision. I saw your last one with the accessory to be able to swivel the tablet and was like I definitely will go with the stryde. I feel you may have mentioned the flywheel issue but I can’t remember. Thanks so much
Take a look around the flywheel. Sometimes they include plastic pieces to help secure it during shipping. Sometimes they are a little hidden but need to be pulled out. Hope that is it!
just watched this from my styrde bike! had it for a few weeks now. I AGREE the update is nice however there are some down sides that I hope they will address in the next update. at this time I only use the free ride mode pretty much why I chose this bike over the others. however most of the fancy new updates don't work on free ride. you cant track your progress, leader board etc.. the good new is we now have miles on free ride! so that is nice.
They seem to very motivated to keep improving the bike so I imagine we will continue to see a lot of enhancements. Tonal does a thing on their Facebook page where they accept user feedback on improvements and then vote on what people want most. Would be neat if Stryde did this.
Hi Travis, do you notice that the video glitches on the monitor? I always see a glitch here or there in the videos. Also, the sound quality is a bummer too. Would you agree?
The video is very good. The glitches are become of how I have to capture that video. In real life it is very smooth and high quality. The sound is probably what you would expect from monitor speakers. It can get the job done but if you room filling or high end sound it will come up short. Probably depends on what your expectation are.
I don't know enough about those yet to have a great recommendations. When people do comment about them, they seem pretty passionate about how good they are though...
Obviously, you need to stay within your means and if you buy it you need to hold yourself accountable but… if there is one area I am okay with spending more on, it is my health. It impact you positively in so many ways.

Love my Stryde bike and this video makes me want to switch back to their membership. I switched to ZWIFT because I was super annoyed with the messed up numbers on the leader board. I’m too competitive I know but I couldn’t get passed it. Not having miles was tough as well, I need more data. Once this beta is released I’ll switch back, when is it coming out?
I’m dealing with Stryde right now on output calibration. By my estimate I’m indicating output 57% higher than it should be. That or my specific Stryde requires 57% less power to produce the same output at a given cadence as other Strydes. Super efficient? I doubt it. This is significant and my bike came out of the box Thursday.
Update. It appears my bike is not out of calibration. I was told Stryde resistance was about 15 points stronger than Peloton. i.e. 15 on Stryde = 30 on Peloton. It’s actually higher-more like 21, i. e. 9 on Stryde = 30 on Peloton, and at low resistances closer to 24-26. This really makes a difference when using the Peloton app and they’re calling out resistance. I obtained this info by checking my Stryde’s output reading at cadence 80 and resistance 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 and comparing with a Peloton chart for the same. Also received virtually identical readings from 3 other Stryde owners.
Good question. I am not 100 percent sure. Sometimes other bikes let you as long as you are not using them at the same time. I would ask Stryde support though. They are super easy to work with.
I really want stryde to be my first bike ever... im just nervous. i dont want to waste money on a peleton and i love the fact you can get on youtube, emails, etc on stryde. i saw on another review that this bike doesnt have that motivation but now you are saying it does... im on the fence now.
It is tricky. Both are great options. Here is how I would approach it. Watch some Peloton videos and commercials where it shows the instructors\content\features and ask yourself if you would be okay with that being your main option. Peloton is absolutely loaded with motivational features and it makes the ride on the Peloton pretty amazing. But that is it.... which is not a bad thing, unless you know you want variety or other ways to workout. Now, with the Stryde, you get that same Peloton content, but lose some of the features. Still amazing content, motivational, fun.... but some of those pull you in\competitive tools are not available. With Stryde though, you can use it many other ways. iFit content, UA-cam, watch shows from streaming services, and more. The question to probably ask yourself is, "which is more important 1) Full Peloton experience or 2) Peloton content missing some features but with all that variety. It really is a hard decision. Both are good options so remember that and once you commit, don't look back. Don't wonder what would have been with the other bike. Enjoy your decision and make the most of it. Good look Brent!

Like I said, peleton is too expensive for me atm and i dont want to waste that much on a bike. Stryde has things that I know will make my time fly by, such as YT, emails, etc. Things I need bth. So I went with stryde. i hoped it meets my expectations and then some! I just want a bike that wont break down on me in 8 months, because ive read comments of people complaining about sweaky-ness and such. Lets see how this goes. Im excited for my weight loss journey!!!
Have you tried IFIT instructor led scenic rides on this. I know that it won't automatically adjust so wondering how much to adjust the resistance and if the instructor tells you a metric or number adjustment? I know Pelton is 1-100, and Ifit is 1-24 wondering how that will transfer from the bike to app and visa versa.
I have and I enjoyed it. The Stryde resistance is 0 - 100 so you are not going to get a direct match, but I find it easy to replicate what you see from the video. Learn what flat road feels like and then based on what they are doing in video, dial it up or down. Automatic resistance changes are nice but I really didn't mind changing it manually on the Stryde much.

And it was insanely hard to get my mind off peloton because it's the most expensive and I always think most expensive with best but this looks JUST as good .I just can't stand stryde not having automatic resistance change . Not crazy at all and honestly, both Stryde and Peloton are awesome. It depends on what features really “talk” to you. Stryde is great in that you can keep mixing it up and do things your way. If streaming services, UA-cam, and the cheaper Peloton digital sound great… Stryde all the way. But it you want to stick one platform and have all the bells and whistles including that auto resistance change, go Peloton. I love them both. Let the features that talk to you help with your choice! @@Learnwithtravis I reached out to Stryde to see if they support the Playbook app. I’d also be interested in just trying out the Stryde app itself (I don’t have the bike), but right now the app is $30/month regardless of which bike you are using. I don’t think they have an official app yet. I don’t think there is a free trial period either. It’s not a price issue more than I don’t want to pay the same higher price if I don’t have access to the connected features.
This is so incredibly frustrating. I have now had this bike for two weeks and it has worked 3 days. I have now reset the tablet twice. It still cannot keep a connection to our wifi, Google Fiber. The unlocked benefit is a great theory but "little bit tricky" is quite generous. You have to take multiple extra steps if you want to use peloton, especially if you also want to use a heart rate monitor. In every ride I have taken thus far, it has taken minutes to get started. Not seconds. Further, the free ride option on stryde DOES NOT track your rides. So unless you pay stryde, you do not get rides tracked if, for example, you use you tube videos to have rides. Also, the handle bars and seat are VERY difficult to keep in one place. The handle bars in particular keep lowering despite the adjustment lever being as tight as possible. And the cord is placed near the flywheel in an area that makes it hard to make the bike look streamlined. Finally, and most importantly, the unlocked tablet is crap. And clearly stryde support knows this as they almost instantly suggest they can send a replacement. Lemon alert.

@@umbacon2419 I totally get that. I am still debating it. I still want something to motivate me but want to choose the right thing. I like how I can still do my own thing on stryde like if I want to watch Netflix I can. It is hard. Peloton has been around alot longer and still continues to grow.

I know Im going to purchase the stryde.. just curious on whether or not there have been improvements to the sound quality of the tablet? If not, can I connect it to a speaker via Bluetooth? Love my Stryde bike and this video makes me want to switch back to their membership. I switched to ZWIFT because I was super annoyed with the messed up numbers on the leader board. I’m too competitive I know but I couldn’t get passed it. Not having miles was tough as well, I need more data. Once this beta is released I’ll switch back, when is it coming out?
I think they said it is being push right now so only a matter of time. Definitely getting better and excited for what this thing will become.
I’m dealing with Stryde right now on output calibration. By my estimate I’m indicating output 57% higher than it should be. That or my specific Stryde requires 57% less power to produce the same output at a given cadence as other Strydes. Super efficient? I doubt it. This is significant and my bike came out of the box Thursday.
Update. It appears my bike is not out of calibration. I was told Stryde resistance was about 15 points stronger than Peloton. i.e. 15 on Stryde = 30 on Peloton. It’s actually higher-more like 21, i. e. 9 on Stryde = 30 on Peloton, and at low resistances closer to 24-26. This really makes a difference when using the Peloton app and they’re calling out resistance. I obtained this info by checking my Stryde’s output reading at cadence 80 and resistance 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 and comparing with a Peloton chart for the same. Also received virtually identical readings from 3 other Stryde owners.
if you have two stryde bikes can you use the same membership for $30?
Good question. I am not 100 percent sure. Sometimes other bikes let you as long as you are not using them at the same time. I would ask Stryde support though. They are super easy to work with.

I really want stryde to be my first bike ever... im just nervous. i dont want to waste money on a peleton and i love the fact you can get on youtube, emails, etc on stryde. i saw on another review that this bike doesnt have that motivation but now you are saying it does... im on the fence now.
It is tricky. Both are great options. Here is how I would approach it. Watch some Peloton videos and commercials where it shows the instructors\content\features and ask yourself if you would be okay with that being your main option. Peloton is absolutely loaded with motivational features and it makes the ride on the Peloton pretty amazing. But that is it.... which is not a bad thing, unless you know you want variety or other ways to workout. Now, with the Stryde, you get that same Peloton content, but lose some of the features. Still amazing content, motivational, fun.... but some of those pull you in\competitive tools are not available. With Stryde though, you can use it many other ways. iFit content, UA-cam, watch shows from streaming services, and more. The question to probably ask yourself is, "which is more important 1) Full Peloton experience or 2) Peloton content missing some features but with all that variety. It really is a hard decision. Both are good options so remember that and once you commit, don't look back. Don't wonder what would have been with the other bike. Enjoy your decision and make the most of it. Good look Brent!

Like I said, peleton is too expensive for me atm and i dont want to waste that much on a bike. Stryde has things that I know will make my time fly by, such as YT, emails, etc. Things I need bth. So I went with stryde. i hoped it meets my expectations and then some! I just want a bike that wont break down on me in 8 months, because ive read comments of people complaining about sweaky-ness and such. Lets see how this goes. Im excited for my weight loss journey!!!

Have you tried IFIT instructor led scenic rides on this. I know that it won't automatically adjust so wondering how much to adjust the resistance and if the instructor tells you a metric or number adjustment? I know Pelton is 1-100, and Ifit is 1-24 wondering how that will transfer from the bike to app and visa versa.
I have and I enjoyed it. The Stryde resistance is 0 - 100 so you are not going to get a direct match, but I find it easy to replicate what you see from the video. Learn what flat road feels like and then based on what they are doing in video, dial it up or down. Automatic resistance changes are nice but I really didn't mind changing it manually on the Stryde much.

And it was insanely hard to get my mind off peloton because it's the most expensive and I always think most expensive with best but this looks JUST as good .I just can't stand stryde not having automatic resistance change . That's my favorite thing considering peloton pro . Call me crazy
Not crazy at all and honestly, both Stryde and Peloton are awesome. It depends on what features really “talk” to you. Stryde is great in that you can keep mixing it up and do things your way. If streaming services, UA-cam, and the cheaper Peloton digital sound great… Stryde all the way. But it you want to stick one platform and have all the bells and whistles including that auto resistance change, go Peloton. I love them both. Let the features that talk to you help with your choice! @@Learnwithtravis I reached out to Stryde to see if they support the Playbook app. I’d also be interested in just trying out the Stryde app itself (I don’t have the bike), but right now the app is $30/month regardless of which bike you are using. I don’t think they have an official app yet. I don’t think there is a free trial period either. It’s not a price issue more than I don’t want to pay the same higher price if I don’t have access to the connected features.

This is so incredibly frustrating. I have now had this bike for two weeks and it has worked 3 days.
I have now reset the tablet twice. It still cannot keep a connection to our wifi, Google Fiber.
The unlocked benefit is a great theory but "little bit tricky" is quite generous. You have to take multiple extra steps if you want to use peloton, especially if you also want to use a heart rate monitor. In every ride I have taken thus far, it has taken minutes to get started. Not seconds.
Further, the free ride option on stryde DOES NOT track your rides. So unless you pay stryde, you do not get rides tracked if, for example, you use you tube videos to have rides.
Also, the handle bars and seat are VERY difficult to keep in one place. The handle bars in particular keep lowering despite the adjustment lever being as tight as possible. And the cord is placed near the flywheel in an area that makes it hard to make the bike look streamlined.
Finally, and most importantly, the unlocked tablet is crap. And clearly stryde support knows this as they almost instantly suggest they can send a replacement. Lemon alert.
