    wow - you make it look so very easy ... I think the string method is the easiest & quickest. I'm looking forward to Part 2 and the completion of the product !!! :)

    I know that I say it so much...but you are a man of so many talents. I wish you lived close enough to make this type of lights for me. It's definitely my style for my small tiny cottage deep in the country of Alabama 🌲💜

    One of the best examples I've ever seen of doing what you can/want with what you have on-hand. Fabulous idea

    That fire and cold water reminded me of how I remove stuck bleeder valves from brakes on cars. Heat the bleeder with a torch until glowing red, then hold an ice cube on it. The bleeder will then unscrew with ease. Science! (Not the Fauci type) LOL!!!

    Nice work, Aaron! That was a very neat idea to use a canning jar for your light!

    Very cool! I watch an English fellow who finds bottles along the Thames River in London, and he Grinds the broken ones down enough to make them into glasses, vases, or candle holders. He's Si-Finds and the bottles that Robert is finding at the Byrd Farm would be awesome for things like this, even if they are found broken!

    Pretty cool! I remember back in the early 1970’s my brothers had a glass cutting kit. It was popular for awhile. We had all sorts of bottles cut for no reason! 🤷‍♀️😉😆 They we’re just kids with a neat gadget.

    Wow! That first way seemed easier than the second! You are just full of know-hows, Aaron! That was pretty cool! I don't plan on making a light, but I kinda want to try the 1st method, just for the heck of it! 😁

    Aaron that’s really cool. Ive always wanted Mason jar lights. I like the idea of the string cutting the glass than the other, it’s quicker. Did you mention the thickness of the copper for lid? Don’t know if I could do it as I don’t have a lot of strength in my hands cuz of arthritis. Guess I’ll have to find someone to do that then I need someone to do the soldering. I solder with lead when I do stain glass but your way is different..
    Anyway those are going to look sweet up on the porch. I’ll keep my eye out 2nd part. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍

  • @katieallen3927
    @katieallen3927 2 роки тому +4

    Try using a butcher’s knot, much easier to tie the string without losing tension on it.
    You loop the ends twice before crossing the ends back over and completing the knot.

    I was shocked that you used perfectly good mason jars (unless the top edge was chipped). Mason jars are expensive and hard to find because so many preppers are canning food now. However, there are still foods like pickles that are sold in quart-size heavy glass jars that you could have used. Nevertheless, it is a great idea to recycle a glass jar for a light cover.

  • @andrewdelodance7864

    is it necessary to remove the bottom of the jar? is it a heat situation? do LED light bulbs cause enough heat for it to matter?
