So many people have seen our… intreeging video clips of us talking about LZ. However, this is a DRIFT PODCAST and with Adam LZ being one of the main faces in drifting…. we’re going to talk about him.

Adam LZ built everything legitimately from the ground up and never did anybody wrong he was a professional bmx rider turned professional drifter and super successful businessman , nothing to hate there all class. People tend to hate the perfect success story instead of admiring it.

I think people hate that he’s so happy go lucky and that his fans can be a bit annoying, it’s understandable but still not really justification to hate the guy, especially since everything you said is true!

A lot of us have watched lz since he first went pro bmxing.. he’s a super genuine and awesome guy. Don’t hate just because you see a successful man with lots of friends, there are reasons people are who they are.
I remember when he put the rack on the white BMW and went to the park all the time. It’s crazy how far he has come.

Even before that, I've watched him from BMX, he's always been the same and he did really good things for the sports he was apart of
That series was how I found him. UA-cam algorithm came out about that time.
I swear he’s like the most relatable car dude on UA-cam and building an empire is outstanding
looks like the only people that don't like him are the ones who don't have the capability/finances to be where he is. The issue is his nerves and experience. There's been too many instances where hes driven just as good if not better than drivers with 10x the experience and accomplishments. But, the people talking shit fixate on the occasions where he under performed. I just don't get it.

Huge LZ fan but even if you’re not for whatever particular reason you might have, you have to acknowledge he’s been a huge influence on drifting as a whole. He introduced a whole generation of people to the sport.

I wasnt even aware Adam was pro in BMX before going for his now ever growing racing career, not just drifting. Always loved how chill he was and downright just honest. I still dont even know the "real" reason as to why people genuinely dislike him.
Its the people that didn’t watch him go from pro bmx’er to a pro drifter that are hating. The dude has legit helped (and haters, I’m saying helped not “made”) the UA-cam car community by being brand new at it. When his name popped up in comps, people were upset but the right people always have his back which is good to see
Adam LZ is the embodiment of the American dream.
Dudes worked his ass off to get where he is n hes earned it every step of the way. Hes a beast behind the wheel. For Vaughn Gittin Jr n Chelsea Denofa to acknowledge his driving skill is an achievement in its own. He built his empire n everyone wishes they were able to do the same to that scale. He builds drift cars n enjoys himself every day n makes millions doing it. N after going thru a divorce in his early 20s n still built his empire is awesome

Adam built his own empire/everything he has by himself and his drive. Anyone that doesn’t like him has to at least accept how influential he is to drifting. I’d imagine less intelligent people throw the “he’s a douche” card out there because of jealousy. Dudes got everything most people would strive for. I own a business and it’s far from easy, knowing your craft is one thing but having the constant drive when it gets tough is something not everyone has. I appreciate how hard he’s hustled to get to where he is

His content enjoyable and i been to his shop down here in CT, it nice ngl and people that are fans of his at least in CT really love his builds or when he did BMX. Here and there some enjoy his drifting but mainly people here enjoy his builds and when his shop open during car meets that are hosted around there. I don’t see the reason to hate but here we are in fantasy land needing to hate all the time lol
The only people that hate LZ are jealous AF he has everything everyone wants at 26.
I mean TJ hunt, Cletus Mcfarland and even Whistlin Diesel have a ton of shit people like to be jealous haters for but I find all of them 100 times better to watch than Adam LZ. There is nothing’s to really hate about him but I just I think he just doesn’t make good videos even if he has cool cars. I would watch his videos if he did.

In respect of how he got into motorsport, he's no different from Ken Block.
I think the hate lz cops is let’s be honest…And people can argue it all they want… But when it’s come to lz turning “pro” and I use the term “pro” very loosely. Is Adam has always been in some type of lucrative position when he has represented a team as a “pro” there’s 110% a reason rtr put lz on the team.. it’s the brand/image/fans that come along with his name. So people that don’t have that to offer a team like rtr don’t even get looked at even though they could potentially be 100000s a better driver. Makes sense why people hate him. And that’s why people say he didn’t “earn” his position on a pro team..

I used to watch LZ than he stopped biking often. And I lost interest 🤷
For example when lz turned pro in bmx with stranger.. the whole team pretty much quit because they knew it was a absolute joke, and for those who aren’t in the bmx scene wouldn’t know that. Let alone lz quit stranger because everyone behind the scenes didn’t respect him.. AND lz pretty much without doing anything started to get his own signature stranger gear. Yet others on the team that absolutely shitted on lz when it came to bmx skill never got a dime..
Businesses are in it to make money. Adam brought money and influence. Nobody cares about all the no names you have probably forgotten who they even are
People like Adam LZ are good for technological innovation in the sport they are in… hear me out:
A fanbase of Millions of People, 3.5M, some of which are loyal devoted followers, they like what he’s doing and want to do it as well. He makes it to the top level in the sport with the nicest available gear, where his competitors know he is a formidable adversary. He is partially why the sport explodes in popularity, and he is now an inspiration to many people who started the sport because they watch him on youtube etc.
With all the more people starting this sport because of him, there is bound to be few determined to capitalize who will innovate gear to sell and make money from. If there is more and more people starting, that means there is an opening in the market.
Innovation comes from competition, look at cars, if there weren’t a million car brands then innovation wouldn’t have come so far. If there was only ever 1 car company, there probably wouldn’t even be cars, we’d be around 100 years behind in technology reppin’ those early 1900’s style “motor carriages” 🗿
It's because he's rich but keeps winning the grassroots style comps in cars that no one else could afford to build. There are some people who actually need that money. He needs to stick to FD if he's going to drive FD level cars in the comps. Like that blue bmw. He has an entire FD team. He can go through multiple engines in a comp yet some people can't afford to fix a bent tie rod.

If this is your main point, you really need to understand the reason behind the e36.
He's not taking advantage of his wealth to compete in grassroots comps, otherwise he would've done it. He built a competitive car that's strong enough to at the very least handle the other OP cars that already have been in those comps before he even built "that blue bmw".

He has definitely changed since he got the money. I don’t like that he feels like he has to constantly flex his gator compound. It’s like he has to prove to people that he’s the star of the show. He used to be humble. Also his relationship with Tommy brings into question his morals and ethics.

I just hate how he’d be nothing without his BMX following, all the money he got to start drifting, was from his BMX following. And then he just ditches them to transfer to car shit, giving him a head start to the algorithm with 2m subscribers. It’s seedy and a disregard to the fans that gave him everything.
And his beef about people hating him as a BMX rider I mean I see where they coming from, he wasn’t that good at BMX, couldn’t even flip. he was a pro youtuber who did BMX videos, he was sponsored for his channel, not his riding ability.
