Upon arriving Tokyo Japan, we went to Kirby Café, a restaurant chain in Japan, themed around Kirby, the Nintendo video game character and franchise. It seems almost impossible to get booking at this themed cafe that located in Tokyo Skytree. Our tip to get booking at Kirby Cafe is to check the reservation website regularly especially late night because there are actually a lot of cancellations. We got the spot only few days before departure to Japan!
Asakusa has vibe of an older Tokyo, with traditional craft shops and street-food stalls along Nakamise Street near the Sensō-ji temple. Helmi couldn't say no to cute 3D Latte Art coffee shop in Asakusa called HATCOFFEE LATTEART STAND. You can ask the barista to make 3D coffee latte with any characters you like. Then, we sampled few cheap street food in Asakusa like Melon Pan from Asakusa Kagetsudo which is highly recommended. Melon pan does not have any melon taste, but the bread looks like rockmelon with the sugar icing on top. Monjya Korokke (croquette) is an interesting croquette with smashed monjayaki or Tokyo style okonomiyaki.
The highlight for Asakusa is definitely Onigiri Asakusa Yadoroku, the oldest onigiri shop in Tokyo that received 2023 Michelin Bib Gourmand Japan. This is the best onigiri we have ever eaten, made on the spot with super fresh ingredients, highly recommended!
After that, we went to Pokemon Cafe that is quite similar with other themed cafe where it was really difficult to get booking! Again, our tip is to check the reservation website for last minute cancellations.

Would you visit themed cafes in Tokyo?☺️ Or would you go local restaurants?
They are all cute, colourful and overpriced- but it is about a certain experience to link simple actually Japanese fast food dishes to your favourite manga/anime/game.
@@katrinlausch3078 totally agree haha.. it’s more about the experience which is unique in Japan only☺️
You guys keep adding to the list of things I want to see in Japan next March. Your videos are both informative and entertaining. The look on Helmi's face while trying to drink the Kirby cappuccino is priceless!!
Hehe she loves cute things haha
I feel like Helmi was in heaven with all the cutesy food and drinks lol.. Pokemon cafe is another I want to try, just to try lol..
Wow lots of waiting and effort to get reservations for these themed places! Props to you guys for checking late night to snag a spot
That onigiri spot looks worth the hype! We love ginger so bring it on
Did you know that the TOKYO TOWER has always been the only spot visible all around Tokyo until the Tokyo Sky Tree was built.
Wait didnt know about this before!
Ooh was looking forward to this lol... the Kirby Cafe is so cute! That's one of the places I want to visit in Japan.. a lot of good presentation lol.. definitely need to reserve..
That is indeed a cute cafe! Everything in Japan looks perfect to our eyes.
Dessert after breakfast is not something we would do, but as you said, you had to do it there!
It seems like the melon pan tastes like heaven, yum! 😋
Love onigiris. What a treat guys!
Chocolate is the key word lol

Thank you!
Takashimaya is one of many popular department store in Japan 🇯🇵. You two should also visit SHIBUYA, GINZA, and SHINJUKU. These are all shopping areas as well as foodie areas.
Yes we did :) we stayed at Ginza, so convenient and lots of good food
This is definitely a foodie area.. oh man, need to do your research. The onigiri looks amazing! 😮
It's so good!
You two should also try the local RAMEN eateries, “Chinese” restaurants, Okonomiyaki, and different kinds of TENDON, OYAKODON, KATSUDON, TEMPURA CURRY, TONKATSU, etc.
Hehe yesss we ate a lot in hokkaido- series starting next week😁
I would go to both normal snd themed restaurants ..I know the food isn’t the greatest but like you said it’s all about the experience..Great video guys I missed you both ..x💕🥰❤️
Hehe thanks Irena 😂🙌🏻
Soooo goood
Yummy
I'm so glad you both are back in Japan this year in 2023. The theme restaurants are beautiful. Asakusa is such a fun and beautiful place to visit.
How is the weather in Japan?
So happy that we made it to Japan, missed it so much😢 After this video, it will be Hokkaido and oh my gosh it was freezing cold😂 average was like -7C but soooo beautiful!!
I love that nihonbashi takashimaya. Is the rooftop garden still open? It also featured in the novel norwegian wood haha
yesss! we could hv gone during sunset, killer views😍
This restaurant is for tourists and I think you fell for it 😬👍👏
Hahaha🤣👍🏻
Hi may i know how u travel from tokyo to hokkaido ?
We flew there :) turns out to be cheaper!
Still the best onigiri can be eaten at Onigiri Bongo if you ask me 🥰
Ahhh we’ll try next time👍🏻 i heard the queue was like 3-4 hours?😮
Well at least 1 hour, 3-4 mostly not-but the tourists are back mh 😅. Problem is to be polite do not linger too long while eating there and may tell your verdict afterwards ❤️
