@@gregblendsmakes9348 I was wondering about that. Since eevee materials are so different from cycles I wasn't even expecting it to work without some tweaking. Wasn't there a conversion workflow from blender internal to eevee?? there's a good video idea right there!!
Eevee is supposed to be able to use most of the same node setup as Cycles. As opposed to old BI, which had a very different interpretation of nodes--when it could use them at all.
@@ravanin Yeah actually eevee materials are very very similar to cycles ones. You only have to adapt nodes that deal with raycasting, such as light rays, AO, etc. In regards to material conversion between blender internal and eevee, there was a free addon very popular after cycles was implemented which did the BI>cycles conversion, and since cycles and eevee have few differences in materials, it would work converting BI to eevee as well. But since addons pre-2.8 have to be converted in order to work with 2.8, the easiest way is to open 2.79 with the addon, convert the BI material to cycles, save and open it in 2.8 eevee.

blender.stackexchange.com/questions/2061/how-can-noodles-the-lines-that-connect-nodes-be-changed-from-straight-to-curve TLDR: a config under preferences->Themes->Node Editor
i think i found out how to limit scale location or rotation to axis in 1.0 i dont know for sure it will work but i tried in 1.6 and it worked. if you left click and drag, a white line shows up and if you draw a circle like thing you can rotate on the axis that is nearest to our view its finicky but works if you draw a line you can move in the axis nearest to what you drew and a v like shape for scale i cant get 1.0 to work so if you can try this that would be great, im wondering if it will work PS: in 1.6 you cant do S and then X or something like that so i was trying to limit to axis and it worked
Why didn't you just add a circle and use the spin operator in 1.0 to make the donut? I need to try that. I so love them old blenders, the interface was so unique and mysterious.
I thought I would be able to add edge loops, and that side-tracked my thinking. Spinning a circle would have made way more sense, but if you check my speed run video I found a way that's even faster I think.
@@gregblendsmakes9348 Yeah, the surface->donut-> convert-to-mesh method. I used to use those surface and curve primitives a lot when i initially dabbled with blender (v1.8 or so), but haven's seen them used anymore even though they still exist in v2.83.
Hey dude. Congrats for the channel, it has been getting a lot of track, mainly because of your excellent work! But there is one thing on my mind recently. Using a custom theme for Blender is great, and everyone must have the right to do it, including content creators, of course! However, when a newcomer to the "blenderverse" comes and sees your theme resembling the 2.7x era, even though it is very familiar to you, it may be intimidating to a lot of people, and might make them move away from Blender, like it had been happening for a good portion of the last decade, before the 2.8 design changes. So I'm not asking you to abandon your custom theme, because it works really well for you and your personal workflow. But it may not be the best thing to showcase to newcomers, you know. So what I'd suggest, you don't have to do it, it is just an idea. Maybe keep your Blender 2.83.2 with your custom theme for your day-to-day usage, which makes your more productive and even more happy! But keep a copy of the nightly 2.90 alpha build with the default theme when recording your videos. That way, most people will feel very warmed and familiar when seeing that beautiful 2.8+ UI, and you will have all the speed and control that you need. Sorry for the long comment, but I really enjoy your content and thought that maybe you'd enjoy a small sugestion. Keep up the good work man! Greetings from Brazil!
