    I've never had that issue... holding strong on my 2018 2025R with 1038 hrs.

      Nice. It seems like it's an "issue for some" more than a real problem for everyone...

      Congrats on making it to the work bench. Is there a link I can share if folks want to buy this?

    I understand the loop because if you look at the hard brake line coming from the master cylinder the loop allows flex movement.
    I am gonna suggest taking some of the scrap tubing, cut it length wise and zip tie around like a patch, in the axle area so the extra tube wears out rubbing the zip tie before wearing a hole into the tubing to the axle. Just a thought with that much flex, I could see a wear point.
    That's my 2 cents, great video, have a wonderful day and keep the shiny side up!

    I have a 2018 1025r, shortly after purchasing i notice fluid level was a little low, went to dealer to buy more fluid and they sold me JD gear oil to put in frt axle. That being said, when it came time to change my fluid in frt axle, my dealer was trying to sell me hydro fluid, they said thats what JD recommended. I stayed with the gear oil, never had a problem, 800 hrs alot of loader work, no pressures or leaks. May be something to check out! who knows?

    Side note… another JD shocker. Check your wheel lug bolt for proper torque. I recommend more frequently then the manual states. Every 50 hours as I had a front wheel fall off at 60 hours after torque check. I think you have a video on this as well.

    I'm thinking that's what happening to mine. As I'm pushing snow I'm noticing hydro fluid in the snow from the from tires.

      Indeed. Seems like this is an easy fix to prevent a REAL blowout....I hope.

    Is there an oil drain plug to drop the axle oil every 100 hours or once a year.?? Moisture build up inside is a concern also. Strange that JD omitted a vent breather on the axle housing? All gear boxes and axle housings usually? have breathers.

      1) yep. a couple of them. 2) this product solves that. Odd? Yeah. But it's fixed now.

    You don't need much excess hose. The hose stretches if it needs to. Just an inch or so works.

      @JohnWCH well.... I have the same tractor and the same kit. I also made the same mistake... If the hose easily kinks in its resting position then you may as well have gone with the oem dipstick.

    What exactly is the purpose of this is the fluid being recovered?

    • @JohnWCH
      @JohnWCH  8 місяців тому

      It expands up the tube and goes back into the axle instead of bubbling out

    You might be the maintenance nerd but I am the freaked out paranoid “an ounce of prevention” guy. So, is this different than a pressure release valve? I saw on eBay a fix with a pressure release valve for this spot. Same thing? If curious I can send you the link. At this point, I know just enough to be dangerous. thanks for your opinion….

    • @JohnWCH
      @JohnWCH  Рік тому +1

      (Heavy Sigh)....Ok so they do the same thing. The difference is where the/how the hot fluid leaves when it expands. My thought was as the fluid expanded it will go up the rubber tube on the boltonhook kit but not necessarily "out" on to the floor. Whereas the "pop-up" style its just going to leak out when hot. Both saving your axle seals; like I said both doing the same thing.
      Also, I liked that the "intake/exhaust" of this kit was way up under the hood, not on the axle itself thereby reducing the dirt and buildup of stuff during use, that could potentially jam it up and make the axle mounted vent not open or close.
      Are these worries worth the extra $40, only you know the answer to that.

    • @JohnWCH
      @JohnWCH  Рік тому

      And if you're talking about the same vent type kit, only made of plastic, that is sold on ebay....I don't know...it's a $30k machine. I tend not to cheap out on it, especially when I'm replacing factory engineered parts.

      @@JohnWCH I didn't love the ebay option but it was the concept I was wondering about. Agree about the fluid leaking problem but I don't love the idea of it leaking into a different area under the hood either. Double edge sword I guess.

    if i can give you one piece of advice it would be to reinforce the radiator.
