you explained it perfectly james. In this sim you can't rely on the slipstream or physics alone; you really gotta learn and know how to set up the car to really get the most out of it. Been running with the full IMSA preset on lately and my god this sim makes me love racing again Edit: you should try a 2.4 hour race with x10 time acceleration so you can see the day-night cycle

Here's my recommendation for a very special Brazilian event: the 1,000 Miles of Brazil. It's a multi-class endurance event that happens every year on the last weekend of January since 1956 at Interlagos. It starts at midnight and takes 374 laps or 12 hours, whatever comes first. The grid is something like 60 cars and features prototypes, grand tourers and national tourers. If you want to reproduce the 2024 edition with bots, here's what you need: Track: Interlagos Date: January 28th, 2024 Time: Midnight Time acceleration: 12x for a 1 hour race, 24x for a 30 minutes race Weather: real weather (it was dry for the majority of the race, but it rained during the last hour) For the grid, you'll have Brazilian prototypes (P1, P2, P3 and P4), GT3s, GT4s and National Tourers (Copa Classic FL or Hot Cars and Vintage Touring).
Wow, James, I couldn't believe you went for those 2 cars....nice to know that even the pros sometimes get a bit impatient....I yelled 'NO!" the second you jerked the wheel left to get by them both.....You are awesomely quick tho. Do you do any sim racing these days against pro-level competition? It's good fun to see you just enjoying yourself with each of the sims. Just race and have a blast!
Good stuff! I don’t always love the way AMS2 drives, but the LMP2s are so fun. Have you tried the McLaren again at all on a default setup? Curious if that would change your thoughts compared to your initial video. The Reiza forums believe your setup was too weird to take seriously in the other video. I don’t agree but am curious. Also there was a BoP pass so you may be faster now at Spa.
I wouldn't take the reiza forum seriously, in there the physics of AMS2 were the best in the world since the first beta and we know well what we are talking about 🤣🤣🤣
Those cars are so much fun. The lmp 2 is so rewarding if you nail it. And if you don't you're going to shred your tires. Which is what I think happened in your first race. Hello, Mr. Baldwin. I know this might sound a bit geeky, but I’d like to know if you’ve adjusted your simulator to match the real driving position of the car you race with.
James, quick question: Do you feel the peak of the tires’ self-aligning torque clearly in the real McLaren GT3? I can sense it well in ACC, but in LMU, it’s much harder to perceive. The FFB feels very even at the peak point there, and I don’t get that distinct sensation. I’m curious if this peak is easily noticeable in the actual GT3 car?
Depending on the boost curve and kinematics of the car. Also the aligning torque peak comes before the lateral force „peak“, not really a big peak, but maybe that’s why you mentioned the torque
@@stefanhiller6445 Thank you. Yes, the lateral force peak occurs slightly after the torque peak. This is why I’m asking if the torque peak is easily perceivable in the GT3 car.
