I think this again is her common thread .. even as a younger version when she was not given what she wanted, she lashed out fabricated huge lies and vowed to get "even" ..this trait is very dangerous and was still very much in play well into adulthood..sadly he took the bait and "the rest is history" as they say..🙏no disrespect meant..she was probably not given the leading role in her former Ballet company on more than 1 occasion.. so it's the old "I'll show you" & low and behold while working for OMG, wait for it..DJT she snags & traps a much older man 🙄 who is putty in her hands, married after only 13 days, and tells him many times I've always wanted to start(?) my own Ballet Company ,, where she will be 'the Lead' in every aspect..his money, my co., my rules" 😡 🤬
ever notice that 'lead' and lead(as in bullets)are spelled exactly the same .. so, she wins, games over in her winning ways..So, as her mentor would say, "drain the swamp", "lock her up" & I say, let her go have "the kind of days, months & years she so rightly deserves"

I can't imagine the frustration, pain, helplessness, and grief Eva has been through. Losing your mother is tough enough at any age. Then immediately having to shift gears to deal with all the drama between her dad and his way-too-young wife that he barely knew. Only to end up losing him too because his tornado of a wife killed him. Heart-wrenching. In spite of all it, she seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Poor girl. Not only all that but do you think that grandma's gonna let her have a healthy relationship with her kid sister? NO WAY!!! And that woman is going to plant so much resentment and anger in that lil girls heart that she'll probably grow up hating her older sister for no reason. Big sisters gonna have her own trust issues with baby sister once she gets older especially if she has any of her mothers and grandmother's personality traits! She'd almost have to given all the circumstances! I'm sure given how I mature and level headed she's been this whole time that she wouldn't want to consider anything like that! But She'd be dumb not to! Theyll never truly know eachother cause they'll both remain somewhat guarded of themselves and thats A shame! It's also A shame that good men are going to hear about this! So they'll be more guarded and untrusting of genuinely good women thinking that we're all the same! It's all an aweful domino effect! Who's ripples are going to cross over one another reaching the ears of many and ultimately effecting how they approach and view relationships in general!

I was in an abusive marriage. We lived in an affluent neighborhood where he was SOOOOOO nice to all of the neighbors. But I KNOW they heard him hurting me. No one ever said or did a damn thing. If I would have killed him in self defense there would be a slew of people saying " He would never hurt her" in court. People don't know what happens in intimate relationships behind closed doors and those who do often will pretend that they don't . This man married someone less than half his age. This is a Big red flag- indicating he wanted someone he felt he could control. He married her without even mentioning this to his daughter (HE chose to not include HIS own daughter) - abusers like to brew discourse between their partner and others so their partner will not have support. When mine was angry with me he would forbid his daughter from speaking to me. Doug was obsessive and controlling and violent- shooting a gun off in their home and admitting to striking her dog with force. Mine used to be mean to my dog and I actually ended up giving him to the couple who would dog sit for me when I traveled so he would not be subjected to it. There are text messages found where his first wife texted him about kicking her and filming them having sex without her knowledge. Why this was not addressed more in court is crazy. So there was also a level of abuse in the first marriage as well. And I still don't buy the 1st wife died of natural causes. A good shot of potassium chloride and hello cardiac arrest and you are not detecting that postmortem. Look at all of the toxic metals that Ashley and her daughter (in utero) were exposed to and that Ashley believed Doug may have been poisoning her and had her drink daily tea that he made for her. The fact that the press labeled her the Black Swan is disturbing as well. I am waiting for the press to attach a label to a man who kills his wife. They don't. The vast majority of people commenting on here have very little knowledge of abusive relationships. You don't always have visible marks . You often smile and exchange nice words with the person who is your abuser . There will be smiling family photos - abusers certainly wants everyone to think they are a good person. And the woman who is abused is often deemed "standoffish" or "cold" when they are in fact just keeping to themselves because we are ashamed, broken and because we know so many people will simply not believe us anyway. 99% of the comments here show that is absolutely the case. Just watching the judge not allow Ashley's attorney to point out the swelling to her left eye and dismissing him is pretty telling as well. Sickening.

When he found out that she was seeing someone else, and was engaged to be married to that other man, and immediately files for divorce. So, what did she do when it looks like she would have the clearance to marry that other man? She aggravates and starts accusing Doug of doing things to Emerson, etc., additional charges. WHY? To get more money out of him in the divorce settlement? That shows her true intent. She's nothing but a grifter, and looked at Doug as a 'honey pot'. She wanted a baby, but didn't want him in their lives. So, why don't you just leave him alone and file for divorce, yourself, Ashley???? Why'd you lead him on? And then when he confronted you over what YOU did to your relationships, you shot him. You aimed your gun at him. He NEVER aimed a gun at you. He aimed it at the ceiling. Yep, Ashley, you're a murdering liar.

This whole case is just so bizarre. Did Ashley think Doug was a rich guy because he had a good job? Is that why she leeched onto him so quickly? I'm not saying Doug was any better. No one should marry someone they've known for less that 2 weeks. Another strange thing - she wanted that ballet company so badly, yet she abandoned it after Doug sponsored it. It was her dream not his. And wanting a baby knowing that Dog had had a vasectomy? I don't think it was Doug's idea for her to move back to Florida with her mom. Clearly, Doug loved Ashley more than she loved him. I don't think she even loved him in the slightest. She was just out for what she could get from him. I usually believe the woman when it comes to domestic violence, but I don't know... something is just off with Ashley's whole story. I am glad they got justice for Doug, I just feel so bad for Eva and Emerson.

And when she got everything she could from him, she realized by having a daughter with him she was legally tied to him. She couldn't just toss him away. And she was never going to share with him; it had to be sole custody for her. So she murdered him. She was not poisoned, she was not abused, there was never any proof to anything she ever claimed because the authorities investigated and it was all in her evil mind. It's not self-defense when you are the instigator. And I think it's terrible the little girl was used as propaganda. That's so inappropriate. The text from the former late wife shouldn't have been entered into evidence because she was obviously not able to be present to offer context, etc. and the victim, Doug, whom the text was to and for, could not defend himself from the allegations Ashley's attorney was making. What a disgrace. The victim did not deserve blame; he was just trying to keep his marriage together. Ashley is not a victim of domestic violence. She's not exhibiting real symptoms. She's fake crying. No real tears. Glad she's going to prison. She deserves to rot after what she did to this man and his daughters. Both of them.

So there was no prior proved evidence that he was abusive, in fact she said he had never hit or kicked her prior to the day she killed him. If he punched walls (like the way she said he knocked his dog out) there would have been holes in the walls and yet no photos of that abuse. The bullet in the ceiling really had no foundation. She left him to go to her mothers leaving him with the business SHE wanted...if he were possessive or abusive he would not have allowed her to go. She hides the baby's birth from him. She claims he was aggressive the night she killed him, when others were saying how excited he was that they were going to have a chance to continue with their family and he was there to pack up so they could begin their journey. Even though she said he was angry because she said he should get his own place, really, was that enough to anger someone that bad that he would be a threat to her or wouldn't they just wait til there got there to figure things out? Then she sends her mother away with the child.....and they say not premeditated? She was so phony on the stand. And when she was sentenced she did not scream out "It was self defense" nor did she shed a phony tear. GUILTY.

Oh and did I mention it's the bosses daughter he's now dating! I mean I'm not sure what's more irresponsible the dating someone our teenager has more in common with than you do? Or dating the daughter of the man who's given you A job for the last 8-9 years? Which is A relationship started while in A longterm relationship with another woman and in the middle of A divorce with your 1st wife and childhood sweetheart? Idk to me that all just spells irresponsible childish selfish behaviors! And certainly not the kind of moral compass I'd want courting my daughter who by the way also works for the family business! Who knows maybe he thinks this is job security? To me I look at it like you've just now wasted almost ten years building trust within this professional work relationship with this man! Who really now is tolerating you cause his baby girl adores you! Nevermind the fact that everyones been aware of your relationship for alil over 10 years with your girlfriend and the pending divorce of the mother of your child! These all should scream character flaws to this chick's parents as to the ways their daughter can look forward to being treated! I hope she gets A prenuptial to protect her families business..?
