I think Astaroth has a total awareness of all the timelines and knew Lucius would be born and would steal his power. After he had his power he would also become omni-aware and so he did some prep work before that happened. I think there are also a few characters, especially Asta, who are wild cards that partially or fully exist outside his future sight.
I thought that too. Fr it is likely factual that astaroth would know about Lucius as he can manipulate soul, and saw future lucius manipulating him and planned about everything to defeat Lucius. Here astaroth is just a GOAT.

The very fact that Lucius took control of all the remaining supreme devils in the underworld along with lower level ones is insane, I think this is the most terrifying thing an antagonist has ever pulled off in this manga Lucius is worthy of taking the final villain role of this story..he is just so above everyone else

While I like the theory of Julius being the reason Asta has no magic. I still subscribe to his lack of magic was a side effect of his mother's curse. I like the theory of Asta being a reborn embodiment of Astaroth, and that Julius was the puppeteer in Asta's creation. I am interested in getting affirmative answer thouh.
But the thing about it being a side effect is that she also sucked away life force and yet he's fine. And it wasn't like she sucked it away you know slowly I mean things literally die just from being near her for seconds. And yet he's unaffected in that regard I don't think he's fully human. I just realized something…maybe the shock on Julius’ face was from his memories coming back. He could’ve lost some of them when he first reverted back to his child form. Lucius could have taken advantage of his weakened state after his fight with patri. Trying to become the main control of their body. Gave the illusion that things were the same with Julius all the while observing and waiting for his time to switch back for the future that he said he saw. P.S. Here’s a theory Julius is astaroth . lucius used soul magic on astaroth and brainwashed him into thinking he’s human . Think about it we always here astaroth is not bad devil and finds the human race to be interesting that just sound like Julius
i would think that because asta was in licita's body, he was essentially a ''part'' of her so his mana could theoretically be drained but not his life force because she was basically giving him life when he was in her womb. i get the mana thing but i wouldn't immediately agree with the life force thing.
Or more likely Astroth being the first time mage foresaw being robbed of his powers and thus split his soul to cheat and betray Julius as in Julius would recognize Astroth in asta and libe but also fear him as Astroth could see the future so could have figured out a way to beat Julius post mortem in a way
I feel like if asta gets op time magic the story kind of loses it's purpose as this is a show of a kid with no magic and if he suddenly gets magic then the story will lose it's impact in a way
Actually what I predicted some time ago! It's the final recombination of Asta and Liebe/Roth in a PERFECT and Complete Union that will give "them" tremendous AntiMagic power AND the ability to use the grimoire. That will be a terrifying increase in power and abilities for "them" as it did for Zagreb earlier. As AstaRoth, with AntiMagic AND the grimoire, the ensuing battle should be EPIC! Astaroth wasn't an evil devil but was very vicious against those who would abuse any power or gifts he granted. More of my crazy theories again!
Asta doesn’t become wizard king. Instead to keep balance in the world after Julius/lucius death he has to rule the underworld….but yuno doesn’t become wizard king either. He becomes the golden dawn captain and yami becomes wizard king
What if anti magic is just time magic that is being used differently by cancelling a spell by taking it to a point before it was cast or taking an opponent to a point where they dont have any mana left but happens so quickly people just assume its anti magic because theyve never seen it before
I can see the first part in a certain way, but not the second. The only problem is that it was stated by several characters that it was canceling or erasing the magic, not reversing it, hence anti-magic. Julius and Lucius have stated it was anti-magic.
Notice how Asta is the only one in the series that literally stores his weapons inside his grimoire (just like his mother's magic). Only condition: items must contain anti magic. So I believe that this is his magic, however instead of using normal magic, it's fueled by Liebe's anti-magic. My theory is that at some point Asta will infuse his grimoire with divine magic, giving him the ability to store/seal other things possessing divine magic and that's how they will defeat Lucius.

Apparently Roth is also German, relating to the spilling of blood or to Rot meaning red. So if Asta is the first half of Astaroth, then Liebe is the second half Roth. Also Asta is Greek for divine strength or love, kinda ties into both the purification of devil magic and Liebe meaning love.
The thing for me is, I always assumed that Asta was born without magic for one of two reasons. He honestly just is some enigma, or somone orchestrated his birth. Then after we learned about his Mother it leaned more to him being an Enigma that fell into some elaborate plan. His mom absorbs life force and Mana yes, and as a baby he was there for 9 months yes. Either Asta had an immense amount of Magic that allowed his to stay healthy those 9 months, OR Astas Life force was Trested the same as his mother's since they were interconnected and wasn't messed with until after his birth. You see, eveyonenhas their own magic yes, and so Asta being a being with a separate tank of magic makes sense, but when you're a baby, really until your umbilical cord is cut, you and your mothers health is one in the same. Mana might not have been transferred, but even if she did absorb his life force, she was feeding it right back to him because he was in her womb. but those are just my thought processes on it. His life force just wasn't bothered because he was treated as part of her, or he was fid his life force over and over again until he was born because he was still connected to her.
This is how I see it. Remember Julias battle with Patry? How Patry stated that Julius was there by "destiny" to stop him? What if "destiny" or the god(s) foresaw Lucius's plan and decided to make Asta the one to stop him? Makes sense seeing how "destiny" is supposedly a thing in Black Clover.
My thought is this will cause Asta and Liebe to enter a new contract together. That contract might require Asta to take on a devil heart like Yami has. And by doing so, they may unlock the old memories of the Time Devil.

That's what I am thinking. Notice how julius always sending asta to different missions to capture the magic stones. Maybe he is hoping that he will die during the mission. I noticed how the manga always emphasizes rivalry. Maybe there was a rivalry between asta and julius and then asta ended up losing and his powers were sealed and he turned into a child. Or Asta's father and julius' rivalry. Asta is half demon and half human. Licita is the mother. And liebe is asta. They're the same person. Limitations sealed liebe the demon persona of asta so that he can grow up healthy and safe from lucifero. Asta's memories were erase too.
Here's a thought what if Liebe's memories was just half or altered memories. A side effect of bein split in two. But what if Lichta found Astaroth and took care of him and named him Liebe. Then Lucifero appeared just like the Liebe flashback but Julius appeared offered Lichta to give Astaroth a new life. The two halves are Asta as a baby and Liebe who was sealed into the 5 Leaf Clover Grimorie.
isnt that "symbol" inside the time magic orbs just Patori's light magic that was frozen in time by Julius during their fight? if you look at any other time the orbs are used there is no symbol inside them.

My thoughts are that Asta is obviously Astaroth's love child and Liebe is Astaroth reborn after encountering Lucius and having his magic stolen. I am just happy Julius wasn't manipulating the magic knights, his relationship weren't to progress the devils plan. But to completely STOP it from happening. Julius wasn't "Using" them to help the devils but to Defeat them.

Problem, Asta's body can not obtain magic. His mutation stops his body from absorbing and retaining magic. He also can not use Liebe's power if he does obtain magic. It was stated by Julius that Liebe is the only one to use Liebe's anti-magic because he has no magic and can not retain magic.
I actually think it was actually Yuno star magic that save asta. I think yuno secretly placed star with asta just in case of emergency. Because the way asta disappeared, it resembled closely to yuno star magic. That’s when I think charmy would revealed the truth about the dwarf race.
Would be awesome if Julius had a child that would have powers to take down Lucius. Maybe he used soul magic to prevent licita from being able to kill asta and took away his magic so he can use devils magic. We still don't know what lucius meant when he said Julius tried to directly oppose him and also I still believe he let asta steal some of his time magic when he touched astas sword or he placed something on asta to protect him when the time comes. Not too fond of the Asta having spllecial lineage theories, but this one is quite interesting. And to note, anti-magic is often compared to anti-magic (though they have slight differences) Anti-magic deletes magic via contact, anti-matter collides with normal matter to destroy both of themselves (so they both essentially detonate) anti matter actually destroys matter via traveling backwards in time. Time-magic destroys/nullifies matter via accelerating it, or by aging it to dust or reversing it to nothingness. Time magic is the closest thing to anti-magic imo in BC.
Well Asta being such a unique person with no magic and "the flaw of the world" does hint at a special lineage. And his lineage still wouldn't be as special as freaking Yuno, heir to Spade Kingdom Throne AND reincarnation of Licht's son.

i mean, the mangaka chose to call asta... "asta"... he also chose to give the ultimate devil the name "astaroth" (which isn't the biblical demons name, it's been slightly changed to have "asta" in it's beginning instead of "Ashtaroth" like it is in the lesser key of solomon) there is no coincidence in story writing.. it's pretty obvious, i guess it could be a red herring and i agree that's a possibility, but i doubt it. japanese story writers are obsessed with the yin yang symbol.. just look at togashi with gon and killua or kishimoto with naruto and sasuke. so having asta be the light half and liebe be the dark half only makes sense. besides he seems to have the ability to control the power of a great many demons, so maybe the time powers he has exhibited are only a small portion of astaroth's real power he managed to obtain before he was split into liebe and asta.

Asta doesn't have mana because licita was a mana vampire just like Henry. So while she was pregnant Asta wouldn't have been able to accumulate mana since licita was draining it from him. Lucius and Julius are one and the same. Not like golden dawn cap and patri cause patri was reincarnated. Lucius says I was born with 2 souls. One him and the other Julius. And they are aware of each other in some way beyond just names based on the conversation they had. And they share a grimoire. Which as of yet no one has ever shared a grimoire with another live person. Really doubt Asta is astaroth in some way mostly given that anytime someone has been a devil user they had use of multiple magics. Now since he has no magic that's could have been an issue. But Julius was in existence seemingly a good while before Asta was born and for the more extreme unique/one off magics they have usually been associated to a specific devil. Lucifero was gravity. Liebe is anti magic. Kotodama was word magic. So pretty sure lucius either made an agreement with or subjugated astaroth. Put astoroths soul or magic with his second soul Julius then implanted Julius in clover while he (lucius) played the long game to see what the other zagratis pull off.
Agreed about Asta not being Astaroth. The reason why he does not have magic is because of a mutation within his blood, which could be caused by the draining mgic curse of his mother's. Being connected to her, within her body, his lifeforce would not be drained. Then being born, she quickly took him and dropped him off at the church. Being a baby, he has a new and pure lifeforce, but most likely her blood circulating in his baby body was keeping Lichta's curse from draining his lifeforce. For Liebe not being affected by Lichta's powers is because he is the anti-magic devil, like you stated. His anti-magic kept the life and mana force draining powers from affecting him. That draining power can effect devils, which we saw with Lucifero. Agreed with the second part about Astaroth. Your theory makes more sense, seeing how Lucius has stated that he purified the devils.
I feel like we're bout to get into some heavy Bleach vibes when Aizen explained to Ichigo how all of his combat experience, growth, success, evolution, etc...was all according to *his* plan. Honestly with the way the Lucifero Arc/battle was handled, and the frequent changes with the manga editor, I was worried that Black Clover had lost what made it so unique and special even when compared to similar types of shonen series. But these recent developments and reveals have shown that perhaps not all hope is lost, and Black Clover still has the chance to be one of the greatest of all time. Especially if they properly elaborate on the connection to demonology & now angels in the story
Julius and astaroth might have a Devil Befriending relationship instead of a Devil Binding one that Lucius has with Astaroth. This might've allowed Julius to have a deeper vision of the future and further sight. I think Zagred is very much connected to Julius and Lucius and will become a part in defeating Lucius. Possibly Julius now that he's at 15 will be chosen by Patry's grimoire like Asta was at 15 with his. Zagred ain't dead completely and might've been Lucius himself. and since Lucius and Julius are one person, Zagred and Julius are one too. Zagred and Julius will bind together and Julius will possess the OP purified word soul magic. Tabata likes call backs and I think everything is gonna come full circle and be tied up nicely
@@Dave102693 idk. maybe when Julius connected to the Magic Device Secre and Lumiere made, the negative mana within it from absorbing Demon Licht, turned Lucius into a devil, sent his soul back 500 years and Julius was left to remain. We see with many devils or devil possessed people that your magic gets amped or distorted from its original. We don't know how Zagred was summoned to the overworld 500 yrs, his magic didn't disappear after he was "killed" so a lot is left open ended and i think tabata will make it all connect. Something had to have happened in order for Julius to take control away from Lucius. Marx probably brainwashed Julius at julius's orders so Lucius wouldn't discover the long term plan. Because Lucius does state that Soul is connected to the Mind and Julius and Lucius are one in the same body, so they probably share memories
When the word magic devil summoned that substance from the other world absorbed magic and life force only from things from their world Asta was not affected. So maybe Asta is from the other world.
The only issue about the theory that Lichta could not drain the life force of devils is not very accurate. Liebe did in fact have anti-magic protecting him, which is his power. It could be that is what was protecting him from Lichta's life force draining power. Litchta's curse did effect Lucifero, but it drained his magic first. It could be Asta being born from Lichta, the curse was passed down in a form of a mutation, leaving Asta without power. Also, being within his mother's body, he shared her blood, making the curse unable to touch him. Then after being born she rushed him to the church. He still had some of her blood circulating within him before the curse could get to him. Also, do not forget that the author could have forgotten about Lichta's curse draining life force and did not think about it too hard, leaving a plothole.
if its true that astaroth is asta and liebe i would think they would keep his personality and that would make since because asta and liebe have a very similar personality so i would say hes a friendly caring devil and not like other devils
This would make sense because Julius has time magic and we know as he is the only one with it could show that Julius never had magic himself. A theory gotten from another video stating Julius never had magic, then took Astaroth's time magic leaving both Asta & Liebe magicless. .
Yuno will probably also gain another type of magic with this method. Lucius may try to control him but as Yuno is Yuno, he will retain his own will thus getting another power up.
I thought in chapter 331 page 11 it was revealed that Astaroth was Lucius and Julius was confirmed to not remember anything from his childhood. The only thing he could recall was joining the gray deer… and traveling looking for unique magics.
I can see most of this theory except Asta getting time magic if would feel like naruto getting sage of 6 path powers and would also undermine the whole story of a magic less person working his way to become wizard King they still have them turn into astaroph but he would still have no magic instead it's been replaced by antimagic and they would get a speed and strength boost when activated.

This time I can see you have good points with good arguments, which made me thinking and finally could connect the dots specially why Asta and Leibe look similar. Still I don't think Julius was a mastermind or was thinking at least about it due to all information we have on him from the very start, but I noticed something very interesting. Hear me out. I'll start with Lucius and astaroth relationship As I said before Lucius used time magic in the underworld against Lucifero in chapter. Means astaroth or part of him at least resides in Lucius. Astaroth might not be evil or good. Licita said "being devil doesn't automatically makes you evil" Leibe said "the most thrill devils looking for is in human world". This is very important key point. Lucius offers astaroth a way out from the underworld without a contract. He agrees since he's looking for fun. Lucius uses his soul magic to split astaroth body and take in his souls. This is the moment when Liebe is born and this is how astaroth vanished from the underworld. I said previously how close mana was connected to the soul and the body being for like a vessel. Means Liebe is basically somewhat the leftover from astaroth's vessel. I can't figure out the reason, but Lucius immediately split astaroth and part of his soul, inside his body. Maybe because his brothers wouldn't find him, maybe he didn't trust astaroth. But eventually he split "the good part" Or the least evil part. Julius and Lucius names also close. Makes Julius existence made both from Lucius and astaroth. It does makes sence when you look at Julius magic mania as astaroth's passion for fun. This is actually astaroth's soul in Julius. Also the thing Lucius said he wanted to be "the ultimate wizard king" and not the typical "god". It's weird for someone with such power not to use or say such thing as " Ascending to God hood", but it's not and reason is because we already know somewhat about him, precisely the part of him which is Julius. it was foreshadowed for a very long time both of parts of astaroth and Lucius actually. In chapter 145 just before Julius dies we saw a flashback of his journey. He says "while I continue to search for my purpose in the magic knight .. In order to voice to be heard. One needs power, status reliability.. I amassed accomplishments and became wizerd king" - it is Lucius's personality. In the same chapter he also says "the possibilities of magic.. Humans is endless. Magic in humans should be free" - this part is astaroth's "good part" Personality. The reason why I don't believe Julius was a master mind is because while he was looking for amusement he met licita and was somehow helped her to carry the baby. His intention wasn't to find a way to fight back, he forgot all about him having another soul. Him recruiting Yami and Vengeance was part of the "future" that was ultimately gonna happen, the one that was foreseen by Lucius. It is why he kept hidden why Julius died. Asta and Leibe meeting was the flow in his plans. Lucius just used them and didn't bother to eliminate them at the time since he can interfere anytime. It's all coincidence. At least its the reason why I like black clover for, why Asta built different, and why Asta ultimately challenging fate with hard work.
I think that if this theory is true Asta would somehow be the one to take back his time magic before combining so both Liebe and Asta have there own individual abilities. So when combined can wield both anti magic and time magic meaning that the time magic can be used without being drained from anti magic also giving reason for Yuno getting two abilities because the writer seems to love giving Asta and Yuno similar strengths. Like a companion which they fuse with, a magic sword, only half of the transformation at the beginning and now two separate abilities as well as giving Asta a background story equal to being the spade kingdom prince.
I think that when astraoths soul was separated from his magic, his physical body lost its magic falling onto the highest floor of the demon world. Asta being in his mother probably died but because of julius or astraoth his soul was replaced by astaroth. Astas body didn’t have magic because of his mothers magic tacking it and Liebe didn’t have magic because magic was removed from him. Liebe gained anti magic because he have his magic taken from him combined with his hatred to for anti magic. Asta and liebe then came together because they are two half’s of the same whole. If anyone wants too correct me or add something please tell me.
i dunno i have a bad theory where, i theorize that the author really has killed off asta and took the hxh route when they got rid of gon and started making the side characters into main characters and never looked back. just got the kinda vibe that this arc wouldnt even be still going on if asta was still there and it seems very deliberate.
Lucius aka Lucifer, Beelzebub and Asta aka Astaroth, are originally known in the Old Testament as the Unholy Trinity. They are the most powerful of all the Devils. So basicly putting these three together, will eventually bring the final chapters of the Arc to a massive exploding finish, should these three clash with eachother. Most likely, that said, might just be the idea the creator of the manga intends.
Asta was fathered by the Father and Liebe by Asta's mom so idk where that came from. Asta could have originally had time magice but evil Julius could have taken it away and left him magicless, after all we dont know Julius turns evil since he is known for leaving a lot.

Why astra's mother was the only one to tell Liebe that just because you are a devil that doesn't make you a bad person , did she had experience with devils before (astaroth) did she even name ASTA after his father! And did astaroth after his soul being taken reincarnated as Liebe ! I have a theory maybe Julius took astarooh soul but when he put it in the baby asta and astarooh fused and that is why asta was able to survive in his mom stomach before he was born

I do think Astaroth’s time magic could be the anti-magic, hear me out. Julius’s main magic was possibly transformation magic, as we seen him numerous times in disguise as an old woman. On the hunt to find ways to thwart Lucius’s plans, he came across Astaroth and instead of binding like the Spade kingdom does, he has some sort of deal to see the future events and be able to borrow the devils time magic to retroactively stop Lucius. Plus if we remember, Julius can read the 5 leaf grimoire. Now here’s where my thoughts get a bit confusing. While Astaroth agrees to the conditions to let Julius see the future and borrow his time magic powers, he’s able to tap into Julius’s mind to “erase” or “rewind/rewrite his memory” so that Lucius either A) doesn’t remember Julius’s encounter with Astaroth, or B) rewrites Lucius’s memories so that time magic is always known to both, but the plans remain with Julius. I know it may sound crazy, but I think part of the plan was to have Astaroth revert himself to a childlike lower level devil in order to stop Lucius (this is the point that Astaroth disappears from the underworld), since as the time devil I’m sure he can see all points and knew he would end up where he is in the present day. I only think this since we see Julius store up time magic to save himself, he could have gotten the idea from this. At the moment he reverted, Asta was born as his human vessel, with some interference from Julius as your theory states. To continue about my thoughts regarding time magic being tied to anti magic, when you rewind time hypothetically you can revert something back to being nonexistent, and I think that’s what’s happening with Liebe’s anti magic. The way it works is that once he harnesses this special form of time magic, any time it comes in contact with normal magic, it instantly reverses/forwards that magic to a point where it never was, or where it will no longer be (I’ll go with the former since magic shows no signs of even existing when coming in contact with anti magic).
I'll say this sister saved Asta and made it look like she killed him. my theory Asta is a Nephilim his father is a true angel. that near death would probably unlock his angelic powers. and his fusion with Liebe he'll would probably unlock a new form based on the Nephalem.
I think there could be a possibility that either Asta or Liebe have to die in order for them to fully combine, hence maybe this isn't where Asta dies but rather he sacrifices himself to allow Liebe's half to absorb Asta's half. They are still essentially two separate people even when in union mode so maybe 1 has to willingly give up their life for the other to complete the union.
I'll throw this theory what if the Asta and Liebe do make the supreme devil. but the magic has change form time to destiny, the reason I say this is time can't change destiny. Destiny can change everything.
In the manga, one of the high ranked devils was Astaroth who uses Time Magic. In all of the history; there has never been a magic user in the world who could use Time Magic. Reach.

Though on the last theory if Astaroth being resurrected, there could be a chance that the memories of both Asta and Liebe may influence Astaroth or may not, and who knows if he is good, bad, or neutral. Though the only downside is why Lucius doesn't awaken Astaroth by uniting Liebe and Asta's souls immediately after Lucius essentially got what he needed unless anti-magic negates the effect of merging souls together. Or if Lucius made a deal with Astaroth and when Astaroth "returns" that the deal is done whether he passes or fails to get to his goal or what not.
ANIME UPROAR PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS THEORY!!!! I think Astaroth may originally be a prophecy of a Supreme devil. Meaning that they were waiting for Astaroth to be created. And when Asta was born, I think that Julius took Asta’s Lost Time Magic. Maybe that’s why only Julius/Lucius has time magic. Now I think it may be a stretch here but what if time magic is also lost magic and the reason why Asta’s mother couldn’t be around humans is because of Julius/Lucius. What if they actually gave her some type of non-contagious disease when they took Asta’s magic? And also, I think that Asta will regain his time magic for the final saga/arc. I think that Lucius actually sent Asta there without remembering or knowing that Asta was the prophecy made Supreme devil Astaroth. So, now that Asta is in the underworld, I think that Liebe and Asta will be able to meet after Liebe leaves the Grimoire. Then, Asta would actually be able to activate his lost time magic. Maybe by finding some ruins, but I know that he will actually find or activate it while he is in the underworld. Kind of like Luffy when he was kept in Udon Prison. He was able to train and use Ryou. I also think that the underworld might move in different time so for us it would be like 3 chapters but for Asta, it would be like 3 years so he could have time to train with his newly found time magic while trying to find a way out and fight different levels of devils along the way. That’s how Astaroth and his time magic is born. That may be the prophecy or maybe something different. Just a theory.
Somehow Lucius' world of Peace, reminds me of a lot of the Law Routes in every Shin Megami Tensei games, like having a very obedient and slave like mannerism, really reminds me of every Shin Megami Tensei Law Route endings.
Working off the comment read on the video what if he used soul magic and tried to purify the time devil but it failed allowing him to keep the magic but spilt the soul making a devil soul and a human soul now when asta suppressed his limits they unlock the ultimate devil mode making him astaroth

I think Astaroth has a total awareness of all the timelines and knew Lucius would be born and would steal his power. After he had his power he would also become omni-aware and so he did some prep work before that happened. I think there are also a few characters, especially Asta, who are wild cards that partially or fully exist outside his future sight.

While I like the theory of Julius being the reason Asta has no magic. I still subscribe to his lack of magic was a side effect of his mother's curse. I like the theory of Asta being a reborn embodiment of Astaroth, and that Julius was the puppeteer in Asta's creation. I am interested in getting affirmative answer thouh.

I just realized something…maybe the shock on Julius’ face was from his memories coming back. He could’ve lost some of them when he first reverted back to his child form. Lucius could have taken advantage of his weakened state after his fight with patri. Trying to become the main control of their body. i would think that because asta was in licita's body, he was essentially a ''part'' of her so his mana could theoretically be drained but not his life force because she was basically giving him life when he was in her womb. i get the mana thing but i wouldn't immediately agree with the life force thing.

What if anti magic is just time magic that is being used differently by cancelling a spell by taking it to a point before it was cast or taking an opponent to a point where they dont have any mana left but happens so quickly people just assume its anti magic because theyve never seen it before
I can see the first part in a certain way, but not the second. The only problem is that it was stated by several characters that it was canceling or erasing the magic, not reversing it, hence anti-magic. Julius and Lucius have stated it was anti-magic.

Notice how Asta is the only one in the series that literally stores his weapons inside his grimoire (just like his mother's magic). Only condition: items must contain anti magic.
So I believe that this is his magic, however instead of using normal magic, it's fueled by Liebe's anti-magic.
My theory is that at some point Asta will infuse his grimoire with divine magic, giving him the ability to store/seal other things possessing divine magic and that's how they will defeat Lucius.

Apparently Roth is also German, relating to the spilling of blood or to Rot meaning red. So if Asta is the first half of Astaroth, then Liebe is the second half Roth. Also Asta is Greek for divine strength or love, kinda ties into both the purification of devil magic and Liebe meaning love.

The thing for me is, I always assumed that Asta was born without magic for one of two reasons. He honestly just is some enigma, or somone orchestrated his birth.
Then after we learned about his Mother it leaned more to him being an Enigma that fell into some elaborate plan. His mom absorbs life force and Mana yes, and as a baby he was there for 9 months yes.
Either Asta had an immense amount of Magic that allowed his to stay healthy those 9 months, OR Astas Life force was Trested the same as his mother's since they were interconnected and wasn't messed with until after his birth.
You see, eveyonenhas their own magic yes, and so Asta being a being with a separate tank of magic makes sense, but when you're a baby, really until your umbilical cord is cut, you and your mothers health is one in the same. Mana might not have been transferred, but even if she did absorb his life force, she was feeding it right back to him because he was in her womb.
but those are just my thought processes on it.
His life force just wasn't bothered because he was treated as part of her, or he was fid his life force over and over again until he was born because he was still connected to her.
This is how I see it. Remember Julias battle with Patry? How Patry stated that Julius was there by "destiny" to stop him? What if "destiny" or the god(s) foresaw Lucius's plan and decided to make Asta the one to stop him? Makes sense seeing how "destiny" is supposedly a thing in Black Clover.

That's what I am thinking. Notice how julius always sending asta to different missions to capture the magic stones. Maybe he is hoping that he will die during the mission. I noticed how the manga always emphasizes rivalry. Maybe there was a rivalry between asta and julius and then asta ended up losing and his powers were sealed and he turned into a child.
Or Asta's father and julius' rivalry. Asta is half demon and half human. Licita is the mother. And liebe is asta. They're the same person. Limitations sealed liebe the demon persona of asta so that he can grow up healthy and safe from lucifero. Asta's memories were erase too.

Here's a thought what if Liebe's memories was just half or altered memories. A side effect of bein split in two. But what if Lichta found Astaroth and took care of him and named him Liebe. Then Lucifero appeared just like the Liebe flashback but Julius appeared offered Lichta to give Astaroth a new life. The two halves are Asta as a baby and Liebe who was sealed into the 5 Leaf Clover Grimorie.

My thoughts are that Asta is obviously Astaroth's love child and Liebe is Astaroth reborn after encountering Lucius and having his magic stolen. In the beginning when I heard about astaroth I thought he was asta father and asta is half devil but hearing your theory that astaroth is asta is something I am thinking about as well.

Problem, Asta's body can not obtain magic. His mutation stops his body from absorbing and retaining magic. He also can not use Liebe's power if he does obtain magic. It was stated by Julius that Liebe is the only one to use Liebe's anti-magic because he has no magic and can not retain magic.

I actually think it was actually Yuno star magic that save asta. I think yuno secretly placed star with asta just in case of emergency. Because the way asta disappeared, it resembled closely to yuno star magic. That’s when I think charmy would revealed the truth about the dwarf race.
Would be awesome if Julius had a child that would have powers to take down Lucius. Maybe he used soul magic to prevent licita from being able to kill asta and took away his magic so he can use devils magic. We still don't know what lucius meant when he said Julius tried to directly oppose him and also I still believe he let asta steal some of his time magic when he touched astas sword or he placed something on asta to protect him when the time comes. Not too fond of the Asta having spllecial lineage theories, but this one is quite interesting. And to note, anti-magic is often compared to anti-magic (though they have slight differences) Anti-magic deletes magic via contact, anti-matter collides with normal matter to destroy both of themselves (so they both essentially detonate) anti matter actually destroys matter via traveling backwards in time. Time-magic destroys/nullifies matter via accelerating it, or by aging it to dust or reversing it to nothingness. Time magic is the closest thing to anti-magic imo in BC.
Well Asta being such a unique person with no magic and "the flaw of the world" does hint at a special lineage. And his lineage still wouldn't be as special as freaking Yuno, heir to Spade Kingdom Throne AND reincarnation of Licht's son.

i mean, the mangaka chose to call asta... "asta"... he also chose to give the ultimate devil the name "astaroth" (which isn't the biblical demons name, it's been slightly changed to have "asta" in it's beginning instead of "Ashtaroth" like it is in the lesser key of solomon) there is no coincidence in story writing.. it's pretty obvious, i guess it could be a red herring and i agree that's a possibility, but i doubt it. japanese story writers are obsessed with the yin yang symbol.. just look at togashi with gon and killua or kishimoto with naruto and sasuke. so having asta be the light half and liebe be the dark half only makes sense. besides he seems to have the ability to control the power of a great many demons, so maybe the time powers he has exhibited are only a small portion of astaroth's real power he managed to obtain before he was split into liebe and asta.

The only problem is that Asta can not use Liebe's anti-magic if he has magic. It was stated by Julius that he would not be able to use the anti-magic if he had magic.
Asta doesn't have mana because licita was a mana vampire just like Henry. So while she was pregnant Asta wouldn't have been able to accumulate mana since licita was draining it from him. Lucius and Julius are one and the same. Not like golden dawn cap and patri cause patri was reincarnated. Lucius says I was born with 2 souls. One him and the other Julius. And they are aware of each other in some way beyond just names based on the conversation they had. And they share a grimoire. Which as of yet no one has ever shared a grimoire with another live person.
Really doubt Asta is astaroth in some way mostly given that anytime someone has been a devil user they had use of multiple magics. Now since he has no magic that's could have been an issue. But Julius was in existence seemingly a good while before Asta was born and for the more extreme unique/one off magics they have usually been associated to a specific devil. Lucifero was gravity. Liebe is anti magic. Kotodama was word magic. So pretty sure lucius either made an agreement with or subjugated astaroth. Put astoroths soul or magic with his second soul Julius then implanted Julius in clover while he (lucius) played the long game to see what the other zagratis pull off.
Agreed about Asta not being Astaroth. The reason why he does not have magic is because of a mutation within his blood, which could be caused by the draining mgic curse of his mother's. Being connected to her, within her body, his lifeforce would not be drained. Then being born, she quickly took him and dropped him off at the church. Being a baby, he has a new and pure lifeforce, but most likely her blood circulating in his baby body was keeping Lichta's curse from draining his lifeforce.
For Liebe not being affected by Lichta's powers is because he is the anti-magic devil, like you stated. His anti-magic kept the life and mana force draining powers from affecting him. That draining power can effect devils, which we saw with Lucifero.
Agreed with the second part about Astaroth. Your theory makes more sense, seeing how Lucius has stated that he purified the devils.
I feel like we're bout to get into some heavy Bleach vibes when Aizen explained to Ichigo how all of his combat experience, growth, success, evolution, etc...was all according to *his* plan. Honestly with the way the Lucifero Arc/battle was handled, and the frequent changes with the manga editor, I was worried that Black Clover had lost what made it so unique and special even when compared to similar types of shonen series. But these recent developments and reveals have shown that perhaps not all hope is lost, and Black Clover still has the chance to be one of the greatest of all time. Especially if they properly elaborate on the connection to demonology & now angels in the story
Julius and astaroth might have a Devil Befriending relationship instead of a Devil Binding one that Lucius has with Astaroth. This might've allowed Julius to have a deeper vision of the future and further sight. I think Zagred is very much connected to Julius and Lucius and will become a part in defeating Lucius. Possibly Julius now that he's at 15 will be chosen by Patry's grimoire like Asta was at 15 with his. Zagred ain't dead completely and might've been Lucius himself. and since Lucius and Julius are one person, Zagred and Julius are one too. Zagred and Julius will bind together and Julius will possess the OP purified word soul magic.

@@Dave102693 idk. maybe when Julius connected to the Magic Device Secre and Lumiere made, the negative mana within it from absorbing Demon Licht, turned Lucius into a devil, sent his soul back 500 years and Julius was left to remain. We see with many devils or devil possessed people that your magic gets amped or distorted from its original. We don't know how Zagred was summoned to the overworld 500 yrs, his magic didn't disappear after he was "killed" so a lot is left open ended and i think tabata will make it all connect. When the word magic devil summoned that substance from the other world absorbed magic and life force only from things from their world Asta was not affected. So maybe Asta is from the other world.
The only issue about the theory that Lichta could not drain the life force of devils is not very accurate. Liebe did in fact have anti-magic protecting him, which is his power. It could be that is what was protecting him from Lichta's life force draining power. Litchta's curse did effect Lucifero, but it drained his magic first. It could be Asta being born from Lichta, the curse was passed down in a form of a mutation, leaving Asta without power. Also, being within his mother's body, he shared her blood, making the curse unable to touch him. Then after being born she rushed him to the church. He still had some of her blood circulating within him before the curse could get to him.
Also, do not forget that the author could have forgotten about Lichta's curse draining life force and did not think about it too hard, leaving a plothole.
if its true that astaroth is asta and liebe i would think they would keep his personality and that would make since because asta and liebe have a very similar personality so i would say hes a friendly caring devil and not like other devils

This would make sense because Julius has time magic and we know as he is the only one with it could show that Julius never had magic himself. A theory gotten from another video stating Julius never had magic, then took Astaroth's time magic leaving both Asta & Liebe magicless.

I can see most of this theory except Asta getting time magic if would feel like naruto getting sage of 6 path powers and would also undermine the whole story of a magic less person working his way to become wizard King they still have them turn into astaroph but he would still have no magic instead it's been replaced by antimagic and they would get a speed and strength boost when activated.

This time I can see you have good points with good arguments, which made me thinking and finally could connect the dots specially why Asta and Leibe look similar.
Still I don't think Julius was a mastermind or was thinking at least about it due to all information we have on him from the very start, but I noticed something very interesting.
Hear me out.
I'll start with Lucius and astaroth relationship
As I said before Lucius used time magic in the underworld against Lucifero in chapter. Means astaroth or part of him at least resides in Lucius.
Astaroth might not be evil or good. Licita said "being devil doesn't automatically makes you evil" Leibe said "the most thrill devils looking for is in human world". This is very important key point.
Lucius offers astaroth a way out from the underworld without a contract. He agrees since he's looking for fun.
Lucius uses his soul magic to split astaroth body and take in his souls. This is the moment when Liebe is born and this is how astaroth vanished from the underworld. I said previously how close mana was connected to the soul and the body being for like a vessel. Means Liebe is basically somewhat the leftover from astaroth's vessel.
I can't figure out the reason, but Lucius immediately split astaroth and part of his soul, inside his body. Maybe because his brothers wouldn't find him, maybe he didn't trust astaroth. But eventually he split "the good part" Or the least evil part. Julius and Lucius names also close. Makes Julius existence made both from Lucius and astaroth.
It does makes sence when you look at Julius magic mania as astaroth's passion for fun. This is actually astaroth's soul in Julius.
Also the thing Lucius said he wanted to be "the ultimate wizard king" and not the typical "god". It's weird for someone with such power not to use or say such thing as " Ascending to God hood", but it's not and reason is because we already know somewhat about him, precisely the part of him which is Julius. it was foreshadowed for a very long time both of parts of astaroth and Lucius actually.
In chapter 145 just before Julius dies we saw a flashback of his journey. He says "while I continue to search for my purpose in the magic knight .. In order to voice to be heard. One needs power, status reliability.. I amassed accomplishments and became wizerd king" - it is Lucius's personality.
In the same chapter he also says "the possibilities of magic.. Humans is endless. Magic in humans should be free" - this part is astaroth's "good part" Personality.
The reason why I don't believe Julius was a master mind is because while he was looking for amusement he met licita and was somehow helped her to carry the baby. His intention wasn't to find a way to fight back, he forgot all about him having another soul. Him recruiting Yami and Vengeance was part of the "future" that was ultimately gonna happen, the one that was foreseen by Lucius. It is why he kept hidden why Julius died.
Asta and Leibe meeting was the flow in his plans. Lucius just used them and didn't bother to eliminate them at the time since he can interfere anytime.
It's all coincidence. At least its the reason why I like black clover for, why Asta built different, and why Asta ultimately challenging fate with hard work.
The real question is, if Julius isn't the father, who is the super Chad that sacrificed his life to clap those cheeks

I think that if this theory is true Asta would somehow be the one to take back his time magic before combining so both Liebe and Asta have there own individual abilities. So when combined can wield both anti magic and time magic meaning that the time magic can be used without being drained from anti magic also giving reason for Yuno getting two abilities because the writer seems to love giving Asta and Yuno similar strengths. Like a companion which they fuse with, a magic sword, only half of the transformation at the beginning and now two separate abilities as well as giving Asta a background story equal to being the spade kingdom prince.

I think that when astraoths soul was separated from his magic, his physical body lost its magic falling onto the highest floor of the demon world. Asta being in his mother probably died but because of julius or astraoth his soul was replaced by astaroth. Astas body didn’t have magic because of his mothers magic tacking it and Liebe didn’t have magic because magic was removed from him. Liebe gained anti magic because he have his magic taken from him combined with his hatred to for anti magic. Asta and liebe then came together because they are two half’s of the same whole. If anyone wants too correct me or add something please tell me.
i dunno i have a bad theory where, i theorize that the author really has killed off asta and took the hxh route when they got rid of gon and started making the side characters into main characters and never looked back. just got the kinda vibe that this arc wouldnt even be still going on if asta was still there and it seems very deliberate.
Lucius aka Lucifer, Beelzebub and Asta aka Astaroth, are originally known in the Old Testament as the Unholy Trinity. They are the most powerful of all the Devils. So basicly putting these three together, will eventually bring the final chapters of the Arc to a massive exploding finish, should these three clash with eachother. Most likely, that said, might just be the idea the creator of the manga intends.
My best theory is that Asta and leibe will do a complete devil union sacrificing leibe giving Asta all his anti magic basically making Asta a devil

Asta was fathered by the Father and Liebe by Asta's mom so idk where that came from. Asta could have originally had time magice but evil Julius could have taken it away and left him magicless, after all we dont know Julius turns evil since he is known for leaving a lot.

And did astaroth after his soul being taken reincarnated as Liebe ! And that's why he felt too much connection to licita, maybe because they had previous connection

I do think Astaroth’s time magic could be the anti-magic, hear me out. Julius’s main magic was possibly transformation magic, as we seen him numerous times in disguise as an old woman. On the hunt to find ways to thwart Lucius’s plans, he came across Astaroth and instead of binding like the Spade kingdom does, he has some sort of deal to see the future events and be able to borrow the devils time magic to retroactively stop Lucius. Plus if we remember, Julius can read the 5 leaf grimoire.
Now here’s where my thoughts get a bit confusing. While Astaroth agrees to the conditions to let Julius see the future and borrow his time magic powers, he’s able to tap into Julius’s mind to “erase” or “rewind/rewrite his memory” so that Lucius either A) doesn’t remember Julius’s encounter with Astaroth, or B) rewrites Lucius’s memories so that time magic is always known to both, but the plans remain with Julius. I know it may sound crazy, but I think part of the plan was to have Astaroth revert himself to a childlike lower level devil in order to stop Lucius (this is the point that Astaroth disappears from the underworld), since as the time devil I’m sure he can see all points and knew he would end up where he is in the present day. I only think this since we see Julius store up time magic to save himself, he could have gotten the idea from this. At the moment he reverted, Asta was born as his human vessel, with some interference from Julius as your theory states.
To continue about my thoughts regarding time magic being tied to anti magic, when you rewind time hypothetically you can revert something back to being nonexistent, and I think that’s what’s happening with Liebe’s anti magic. The way it works is that once he harnesses this special form of time magic, any time it comes in contact with normal magic, it instantly reverses/forwards that magic to a point where it never was, or where it will no longer be (I’ll go with the former since magic shows no signs of even existing when coming in contact with anti magic).
I'll say this sister saved Asta and made it look like she killed him. my theory Asta is a Nephilim his father is a true angel. that near death would probably unlock his angelic powers. and his fusion with Liebe he'll would probably unlock a new form based on the Nephalem.

I think there could be a possibility that either Asta or Liebe have to die in order for them to fully combine, hence maybe this isn't where Asta dies but rather he sacrifices himself to allow Liebe's half to absorb Asta's half. They are still essentially two separate people even when in union mode so maybe 1 has to willingly give up their life for the other to complete the union.
I'll throw this theory what if the Asta and Liebe do make the supreme devil. but the magic has change form time to destiny, the reason I say this is time can't change destiny. Destiny can change everything.
In the manga, one of the high ranked devils was Astaroth who uses Time Magic. In all of the history; there has never been a magic user in the world who could use Time Magic. Reach.

Though on the last theory if Astaroth being resurrected, there could be a chance that the memories of both Asta and Liebe may influence Astaroth or may not, and who knows if he is good, bad, or neutral. Though the only downside is why Lucius doesn't awaken Astaroth by uniting Liebe and Asta's souls immediately after Lucius essentially got what he needed unless anti-magic negates the effect of merging souls together. Or if Lucius made a deal with Astaroth and when Astaroth "returns" that the deal is done whether he passes or fails to get to his goal or what not.
I think that in the end Astaroth will be influenced positively by the Asta and Liebe personalities and he will end up being good.

I think Astaroth may originally be a prophecy of a Supreme devil. Meaning that they were waiting for Astaroth to be created. And when Asta was born, I think that Julius took Asta’s Lost Time Magic. Maybe that’s why only Julius/Lucius has time magic. Now I think it may be a stretch here but what if time magic is also lost magic and the reason why Asta’s mother couldn’t be around humans is because of Julius/Lucius. What if they actually gave her some type of non-contagious disease when they took Asta’s magic? And also, I think that Asta will regain his time magic for the final saga/arc. I think that Lucius actually sent Asta there without remembering or knowing that Asta was the prophecy made Supreme devil Astaroth. So, now that Asta is in the underworld, I think that Liebe and Asta will be able to meet after Liebe leaves the Grimoire. Then, Asta would actually be able to activate his lost time magic. Maybe by finding some ruins, but I know that he will actually find or activate it while he is in the underworld. Kind of like Luffy when he was kept in Udon Prison. He was able to train and use Ryou.
I also think that the underworld might move in different time so for us it would be like 3 chapters but for Asta, it would be like 3 years so he could have time to train with his newly found time magic while trying to find a way out and fight different levels of devils along the way. That’s how Astaroth and his time magic is born. That may be the prophecy or maybe something different. Just a theory.

Working off the comment read on the video what if he used soul magic and tried to purify the time devil but it failed allowing him to keep the magic but spilt the soul making a devil soul and a human soul now when asta suppressed his limits they unlock the ultimate devil mode making him astaroth
