- Giving a 60" commercial mower deck a new lease on life. Deck belongs to a 1992 John Deere F932 front mower. This mower deck has seen a long service life, with little love over the years. In this video I repair severe rust holes, which were so bad the whole machine was almost scrapped. Taking care of mismatched gauge wheels, sorting belt issues & gear box gremlins.
At end of video, there is a New Holland with broken frame supports, attaching the belly mower. Solution shown.
I have an F1145 and my Dad has 3 F935. They have been the most robust commercial mowers we have used. The 1145 is now needing an engine overhaul due to burning oil, but it probably has 10k hours on it with regular maintenance. The hour meter stopped ticking a long time ago.
Wow, that's quite impressive! Cool to hear they are still being used commercially!
Love your mower fix videos. A man needs a hobby even if it's cost money👍 hi from Sweden 😊
Thanks. I wholeheartedly agree. Cheers
@@marktolman6037 I would love to see how it mows. Are you thinking about making a mowing video?? Keep up the good work.

If you search across my channel, you'll find I made a whole playlist about this mower. Covering from when I got it up until I finally "finished" it.
@@marktolman6037 thax. I have already gone through the whole playlist 😆 it was awesome 👍 and the clear deck was rely 👍 creep it upp
Book says John Deere GL5 oil, 80/90, 80/140 for the gearbox. That bumper is called a idler arm stop and should touch the idler arm before being tightened down. This is what the owners manual says. Great work on the deck.
@winnepoo9788 Thanks, and thanks for the info. It's good to hear.
Wow that was a lot of work. Looks great though!
Thanks!
You did a great job on that deck! Who owned the mower before you? They were pretty rough on it.
Thanks! Mower changed many hands after it's original owner (I assume a golf course). The machine definitely had some over zealous operators in its day
Will you be doing a cost break down on how much you have spent on getting the mower to the point where it is now?
Once all the break downs happen and it gets to the point where it's reliable, I figured I would do a final video on the money and time I've spent!
Man I wish I had ur number I have a 932 and it's kicking my ass lol
Great video, can you tell me where you buy the lexan stuff? I want to do that to my mower deck shafts to quiet them down when mowing. Thank you
Pretty much any glass shop can supply, you can order from McMaster & Carr, Grainger, etc. It's called Lexan, but it's a polycarbonate. Very tough and durable. I used 1/2" thick material.
What happened to your Toro 217D
Still have it, mower deck is wayyy too far gone. On the lookout for a replacement, but only finding the replacement deck exceeds the value of the machine...
