Not typing speed, but monkeytype fast typing test for touch typing, But 10fastfingers and keyboard settings on Monkey type, or any other typing speed test like that. This is a fast typing speed / keyboard typing with Monkeytype settings of type like increase the speed to learn type faster in 2024.

I’m willing to believe that this may be more than a placebo. Having such a large, readable font would help in pre-reading what’s coming next, thus being ever so slightly more ready for the next few letters or words.
larger text and a fixed speed cursor are really useful and can help improve your typing speed. At least it definitely helped me
Larger text can be worse sometimes, especially if you're a fast reader, so your mileage may vary.
@@XeZrunner Larger text is much worse since I have to constantly my eyes more while with default font size I'm pretty much just looking at the center of the screen.
I have never been more proud of myself. I am 13( going to turn 14 this december) and my speed that was stuck around 125 just reached 130 due to this video. Thanks Bog.

So you set up a cursor that shows when you are too slow so you can rage quit, resulting in a bad run not being recorded (I presume) and your average results improved? Iiinteresting...

Everybody says they're typing at 125WPM, so I'd rather not mention mine cos it's ridiculously slow

I used to type at just around 80 WPM, and now I can comfortably type in the early 100's!

One thing that helped for me to break 170 WPM was using Tape Mode. It kinda acts as a crutch in reading speed, but can help as a temporary solution.
focus is important
No drastic improvement was shown in this video. On 30 second tests the results that you quickly flashed up on the screen show that your wpm and raw speed are different. That means that you made mistakes and then left some of them uncorrected. Also the final test result shown isn't for a duration of 30 seconds like the others, it's for only 15 seconds. Even when you cut the test duration in half we only see the numbers go from 119 wpm to 123 wpm.
You also may not realise but you're just using the default word pool so you're just cycling through the same 200 words again and again. The single most important settings for improvement is pressing Esc and typing the word "language" and accessing larger pools of words on which to practice. Try English 1k for a pool of 999 words, or English 10k for a pool of 9,948 words.

Just updated my settings to look the same + figured out how to add the on screen keyboard - even though i'm not a youtuber, I was thinking it might be quite useful for learning touch typing... I was just wondering, how you hit the "C" key when touch typing, for me it's my main road block because I find it difficult to hit it with my middle finger. I was wondering whether you had any tips in order to hit the key less awkwardly whilst still using the middle finger?

try to use all your fingers. go to keybr to train touch typing. this would help a lot. also, just practice lots and lots. you can also use the strategies in this vid. what i do is set a caret speed at my average. Also, instead of training with time, you could also train with words to train muscle memory first.

@@Set_Abominaemy advice would be anytime you do type like a child force yourself to stop erase whatever you typed put your hands on the home row and type properly even if its slow so it changes your muscle memory

hey, i've seen that your monkeytype has some space between the margin (left right) and the block of text you're typing
but i dont have that, i was messing around with some settings and i dont have it anymore it looks so ugly the block of text is just touching the margin lol
what this does is that it just made the block of text bigger instead of reducing the amount of words i see on the screen, which doesn't really help
