A fairly recently-renewed level crossing found near Egham and Englefield Green on the London Waterloo to Reading Line in Surrey. In April 2022, the level crossing was fully renewed and converted from an automatic half barrier level crossing into a manually-controlled level crossing monitored via CCTV (for this area's signalling to eventually be re-controlled from Feltham to Basingstoke). There are now two full-road-width barriers, one of which sits unusually high off the ground when lowered, four newer LED wigwags, and four 'E2S Apello' alarms. This is a fairly quiet wooded location on a reasonably quiet road, but you very often get traffic waiting during lowerings as the barriers are down for quite a bit longer each time now.
Four lowerings and four different trains are seen in this video. Two of these trains are regular passenger services, with the other two being Empty Coaching Stock (ECS) movements from Staines to Ascot and back. Due to engineering works on the line towards Windsor and Eton Riverside on the day of filming, and the fact that there is no 'bay' platform in Staines Railway Station at present, extra trains from London Waterloo had to be signalled down to Ascot and turned around there to move them out of the way of the Reading and Weybridge services.
    Thanks for watching!
