How to use the Stow 'N Go seats on the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica

- Are Chrysler's Stow 'N Go seats really such a great thing? Seriously, I'm asking. Do owners of the Chrysler Pacifica, as well as the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country before it, actually use the innovative functionality that see the second-row captain's chairs fold away into the floor?
Frankly, I've always had my doubts. Car reviewers have long sung Stow 'N Go's praises, impressed with the ability to quickly turn the minivan from people carrier to work van. You'll frequently read mentions of needing to move sheets of plywood or treadmills or their kids' entire dorm room. Doing so is without question far easier when you can quickly make the second-row seats disappear as opposed to giving yourself a hernia lifting the things out and storing them in the garage - if removing them is even possible at all.
Except here's the thing. We car reviewers have borrowed that van for the purpose of moving whatever it is we needed to move. Maybe the van in question is a long-term test vehicle like our old Pacifica Hybrid, maybe it's the more typical weeklong test loan. Either way, this is not a typical use case. The van is being considered more for its cargo-carrying abilities than its people-carrying abilities, and I just don't think that's representative of the typical minivan owner.

The "cargo" consumer definitely exists, we have owned Town and Country's for decades and the seats stay down 98% of the time. Very useful for hauling plywood, and large furniture like couches and kitchen tables. SUVs have limited cargo space in comparison.
I am curious , i have a 2014 town and country with auto stow and go and left side of 3rdow attempts to stow with the right side abd inly the right side stows and the left stays stuck abd doesnt stow , have you ever experienced this?
I wish stow n go was standard seating practice. Super useful and way better than fold down!
it is a brilliant design no doubt, here is the deal Dodge/Chrysler has the " patent " on the Stow-N-Go seats so not unless Toyota, Honda or any other maker wants to fork over millions $$$'s then they will be out of luck on this design.......
@@tonyconner4745 Plus the way stow and go works, there no way to get 4 wheel drive (if that matters to you)
@hyperchord They added AWD in 2021, the driveshaft runs in between the two second row seat storage compartments.
Yes. I've had three now. 2007 Town & Country, 2015 Town & Country and now a 2019 Pacifica. The whole impetus for choosing them was this Stow-N-Go mousetrap. I/We used it so much that on the 2007, part of the mechanism on the passenger side seat actually broke. Original S-N-G seats actually slid slightly inward, then flipped over and in to the floor vs. the Super S-N-G in the Pacifica which just glides in. This is where our '07 broke. The piece that help pull the seat inward broke. So it required a little manual shove to move it in as you flipped it over. Also, the RS platform vans had a manual 3rd row vs. the power version in upscale trims on the RT (Town & Country/Grand Caravan) and RU (Pacifica) vans. One thing I miss with the seats (there are a couple of other non-seat things too actually), on the Pacifica, is the "tailgate" seat for the 3rd row that the RS and RT vans had. Essentially you could flip the 3rd row seat backwards and then sit out the back.
This is a great vehicle, very comfortable and spacious, great video.
I'm single. I would remove those 2ns row seats and use those 2 bins where the seats were as storage underneath.

@@btchc01n15 Lol that's what I'm doing right now. Last time I measured it's 7 ft long from the back of the driver/passenger seats to the rear. However...only the third row of mine is stow & go, so I've gotta figure something out for the 2nd row.

I'm renting a Pacifica right now - the third row is Stow & Go but the second row isn't...kind of annoying. I was sort of banking on being able to use the whole van to move stuff.
How did Tesla have problems with the monopole seat when this exists?

Yes, but not the plug in hybrid model.
How do you stay cool on hot nights?
The Pacifica can be a plug in hybrid so you can keep the car on and burn very little gas.
