    I've planted dozens of Cabbage Palms just like those in the video on my property, started them from a 6 inch leaf looking thing that i dug off from my backyard,
    and each year as they grew and became old enough to prune I butchered all of them and only left three frawns because it looked cool and i'd always get allot of compliments,
    they have been through literally dozens of hurricanes and came out totally unscathed and after 31 years they're all just as beautiful and stronger than ever before !

      don't do that it makes the crown of the palm smaller it looks better when it looks like a head of cabbage not a carrot top

      @@simonsays365 i have palms, 2 species are still in the seeds. Coconut and Bismarckia, crazy enough i live in central Minnesota zone 3b, what i do with my palms will to keep them outdoors in the warm season until it gets too cold for them

      @@PolychromaticZero if you put them in the ground you will need to tie up the fronds and then buy foam sheets from lowes or home depot and make a box around the root ball of the palm and put a piece of foam on top of the box it may take any foam sheets also make the box bigger of years as the tree grows i also sugest that you buy some c9 christmas lights and wrap it around the trunk to make a heat source i sudgest that you put i thomomerter in the box to check the tempature the bismarkia can take about 35 F and the coconut palm can take about 48 F

    My queen palms were unfortunately over pruned, well above the 9 to 3 markers. I'm upset and concerned about the longevity and health of my palms now. Is there ANYTHING i can do to make sure these palm trees grow back to normal?

    • @treelife2219
      @treelife2219  Рік тому +1

      They are hardy and in nature they tolerate this occasionally give them time they'll recover. Maybe a little palm fertilizer if the leafs show signs of deficiency. Not just because I never recommend fertilizer is has other negative effects.

    Easy because you can reach. Now show us how to prune tall palm trees, specifically 20+ foot queen palms, without a bucket truck and without using spurs while also removing unopened flower pods.

    I am sorry but you will not find Palms in a tree book, they are in the grass family of plants and the correct name is palm grass, not palm tree!

    • @treelife2219
      @treelife2219  9 місяців тому

      The definition of a tree is a woody perinial. Yes, they are grass, but that does not mean they are not a tree. If you had said banana, you would be correct. Thanks, I'm not trying to oppose you. But this is how misinformation gets spread as a certified Arborist. I get these things all day long. I have dozens of tree books that include palms.

    • @treelife2219
      @treelife2219  9 місяців тому

      Palm grass only refers to one species. Palm tree refers to a whole family. That is like anieosperms are a flower, not a tree. And pines are a cycad, not a tree. Do you see where I'm going here.
