I feel like it's finally a good game. The pixel remaster is really well done and made me enjoy it so much. Also, just think of HOW MUCH CHANGED/got added in just ONE YEAR. It's freaking impressive
Well-edited vid, Plandy! I think those that were around for FF1's release would struggle to separate the awe of what the game offered at the time from an objective look at the game viewed from the modern day. I assume that's why it's higher than FF2 in those lists. Glad you seemed to enjoy this one and the different direction it took!
I played it for the first time with the Pixel Remaster, I thought it's a really impressive NES game, with a complex story for its time and memorable locations / characters
I first hated 2 when I first tried it when I was younger. But yrs later, I went and tried it again to only fall in love with it. I never minded the grinding. This is also the first final fantasy to introduce playable characters that permanently died.
Even though i still don't much care for FF2 (i much prefer FF1 personally) I'm glad people are enjoying it nowadays and it's clear there's been much improvement over the original releases to make the pixel remaster the best way to play it. Also i still gotta respect FF2 without it there'd be no cute Chocobos!
I love ff2, it's great. It's the start of the SaGa series which is also great. But it resonates with less players since it gives you more freedom at the start. People tend to appreciate some handholding but with anything they don't want the devs to over do it. If they would have gated off a bit more in the early game I think more people would have enjoyed it.
FF2 has been made much much easier. The NES version was so hard and its presentation so arid it was near unplayable. Hence the hate. The pixel remaster version finally helps it shine, but it s not the same game.
@@Plandiss Haha fair enough. 😄 Nice videos btw. I don't envy you for going through these classic titles. It will get better once you get to the ps1 titles.
It's 'good' if you like seeing in Bee vision and like your Retina's getting shattered into a zillion blocks and squares. Looks like Minecraft but a guy with a sword and plays like chess. 😴 Meh , 6/10. I'm sure it _was_ an Ok game for it's time but there's a reason why technology happened and is a thing. You should try it sometime: it's called FF16. An actual solid 8/10 game.

Start of the saga series? How so

Wait, wait, wait... You said you were new to FF. How do you know that Chocobos and Cid as a recurring character are a thing? 🤔
I'm new to the series but that doesn't mean I've lived under a rock my whole life 😆
