I feel like we have incredibly similar hair Lauren and I’m mad for the Olaplex products- they are an integral part of my hair care routine. I never did pick up the oil based on your review- thank you for the $$$savings 🙏. I will however grab this one from DermaE - my thick, course , voluminous, crazy hair will love it 😍
    Thanks💕

I feel the same about the Olaplex oil... it's nice but not worth the price. The Inkey List has a new product, PCP Bond Repair, that is supposed to be a dup for the Olaplex No. 3. I'm curious to try it.

Thank you for this was just wondering if there was a hood dupe for the oil. I can justify spending the money for the rest of the system but for only an ounce of bonding oil for 28 I grind my teeth each time. Going to order the Derma e oil tonight

The reason why you liked the Derma e better is because it's silicone free and all it has are natural ingredients ☺️ olaplex is just expensive and not worth it. That's what silicone does, the products that aren't silicone free are just meant to feel smooth and great just for a while

Hi Lauren I haven't bought the olaplex shampoo, conditioner, leave in cream or the oil - it's really expensive. i have very long/thick/curly/dry/highlighted hair - my hair loves oil. I use a ton of conditioner, leave in conditioner, curl cream, gel and oil to "scrunch out the crunch" from the gel cast. I also apply oil to my hair to smooth in between washes. I have eczema on my scalp and I'm careful about fragrance in my hair products - only products that don't go on my scalp can be fragranced. Olaplex is a fragranced line and I have a LOT of hair, so I would go through it very quickly. The derma E oil looks more like the sort of thing I would buy tbh. I normally use either the Liz Earle hair oil or the Decleor face/body/hair nourishing oil (only on my hair). The Liz Earle is a bit lighter weight than the Decleor. I also use face oils I didn't like for my face on my hair. I like jojoba oil or squalane for my hair too, if i want something super affordable. Having dry hair means oil works on my hair really well, but curly hair usually can take a bit of oil even if it isn't too dry. Best wishes.

The Derma E is Curly Girl approved. The Olaplex is not.
I have thick, coarse, low porosity, curly (3A) hair; I mainly use argan, or jojoba oil, but lately I've been using The Ordinary's squalane oil because my face didn't like it.

I am so scared of olaplex since I tried the number 3 and it made my hair knot up and totally messed it up it took over an hour to detangle and I lost some then the person that came out with it was rude to me on IG and said it dont do that and I got it at a discount place to save money like i was poor or something and didnt know how to read directions and i got it from sephora and have hair down to my butt that was healthy and it did that. So I am not an olaplex fan.
I'm using the Moroccan oil right now but love finding new ones

Olaplex also makes my hair feel really more... tough or rough but I put that towards it strengthening my strands. I just make sure to use a really great conditioner afterwards. Some people are really also sensitive to protein in their hair! It sounds like if you have super long healthy hair olaplex wasn't meant for you?

    • @fendibondie2545
