No need to turn on the mobile data on VoLTE phones to make phone calls whereas on LTE(4G) phones u'll have to. Majority of the people have this doubt, hope I've helped.

Ranjit few corrections.
3G actually focuses on highspeed packet access. So that means 3G mobil network was actually focused on higher data rates and higher voice quality. There is no such thing as voice was a priority in 3G.
2nd: after 3gpp release 4 multiRAB was introduced in 3G. That means you can simultaneously use internet along with the voice call.
I have a Jio sim working on Redmi note 3 but shows HD instead of LTE or VoLte
dial *#*#4636#*#* and change to LTE and reboot device

Regarding the Call drops. When some other person tries to call us the phone hangs up before even calling. And when i call it says Lines are busy . i have to call like 5-6 timez and then it connects. Reliance should improve this. By the way sir Thank you so much for posting this video. you cleared all the doubts...
Thank you Sir for such detail explanation. Mobile vendor doesn't explain anything regarding Volte they sell phones on saying 4G supported.

i have applied a jio sim from my friend's barcode. internet is working on my 4G windows phone as expected but calls cannot be made. Y?
Great video. very clear and technically accurate. Another problem related but not mentioned here is trying to receive or send SMS using Jio SIM on Huawei or other 4G dongle modem. SMS can be VERY necessary for internet banking and shopping but so far requires a second SIM and a phone to receive OTP over SMS. Previously on Idea/Vodafone SIM the dongle delivered SMS to the Mac or PC without difficulty. Any insights or suggestions would be most appreciated.

This is very informative...Cleared my doubts regarding 4g networks & Jio4g
One thing I would like to correct, none band has been prioritised for VoLTE calling, it depends on your network signal strength. So if your device supports 1800 or 2300 band you are eligible to get update. And regarding when you disable your data your VoLTE call will continue but jiojoin will not work as it works on APN of data services.

Hello Ranjit Can You Please Tell me That IPhone 6S is Volte or Lte And Can We Call On 2g and 3G network with Volte network?
Simple words:
If u have VOLTE enable phone then u can avail unlimited voice call
But if ur phone not support VOLTE then u have to use JioJoin app for making calls and for that u have to use jio net and if u want for receive call from other network then it JioJoin app should be run in background (Means u should not wipe from task manager) and jio net should be ON to receive call from other network (even u can't use ur WiFi or other net to run this app because JIO lock this app to their OWN network)
So it's very good for VOLTE supported phone

Do I need to put the jio sim into the sim 1 slot always? Lets take an example of my redmi note 3 which has volte support in both sims. Why do I still need to put the jio sim only into the sim 1 slot?

I have a redmi 2 and the problem i am facing is that even with 4G data enabled when I try to place a call the phone automatically disables active data connection and so the call gets terminated and hence i am not able to use the Jio sim even with the jio4Gvoice app. Is there any workaround for this?

i have an S7 edge which doesn't have the Volte as i bought it from middle east.
so my question was that as you said the phone with no Volte support previously may or may not get the Volte option after any software update.
does this device get any such option after the update as the nougat update has just rolled in.

Yes what you said is right...Redmi 3s prime able to call without enabling mobile data where lenova k3 you need to enable mobile data as well you need jio join app.... Call quality in redmi is superb where k3 using jio join app is bad
