Your video was so fun to watch and brought back good memories. And my friend and I were in it! We are at 5:53 -the 2 ladies in red tops and Texas flag shorts!.
I am totally feelin' ya! (as they say :) ) ... the 23 mile training run totally wiped me out the other day. .. for a good 48 hours. btw .. should I put you in for WL? or ML? men's or women's tshirt. I'll be drawing on Dec 1 or Dec 2.
RezRuns normally i would never turn down a chance at a t-shirt, but will all of the racing, especially Disney, I am overflowing with shirts right now. I would love someone new to running, to get one and so I say good luck to everyone. That's pretty cool that you are giving them away. Thank you.
I totally get it. I think I received 20+ shirts in the past 12 months .. just from the race entries. Maybe next time ... I'll do a GoPro giveaway LOL :)
I love watching your videos while I train...and this morning I got to see myself in this one! There I was taking a selfie at Mile Marker 3!! Ha ha! Love it!
Great video! 👍🏼 The army men always crack me up! Love your honesty "hill at mile 11... sucks". Disney seems to enjoy saving those hills and highway on/off ramps all for the end. Congrats on completing the challenge!
Long time listener, first time commenter. You have been a good friend over the years, a true motivation to others and you have gotten me though a tough time aswell.
Kaleb G ... as I live and breathe :P Lon time no see. You motive me Marine! One of these years ... we should do the Kessel Run! Star Wars Light side Half Marathon in California ... Star Wars Dark Side in Florida ~ Then we get the Millennium Falcon Medal. :)
LOVE IT!! I did have a "oh no" moment when you got to the point where you had trouble at the half marathon, but you rocked it! I have been motivated by your videos, and I finished a 5K on Thanksgiving morning myself. Thank you again for your videos - you are amazing!
I had an Uh OH moment myself when I started feeling the twinging in my Right Quad. I'm learning to ignore it. Sometimes, I think when I think about it too much ... the zings turn into cramps LOL Congrats on the 5K finish. That's awesome. You rock. :)
Loved your recap! I've been keeping up with your training and love all your videos, but this one was especially fun since I ran W&D too! I won't be goofy in January, but I'll be doing the half :) hope your training is going well!
That's very kind of you. I hope your training is going well. I am pushing on! :) This Marathon thing is crazy! I will probably try Dopey in 2018 ... then, it's back to Half's or less.
Up on the big screen? That's awesome. If I heard the interview properly ... you guys raised a lot for charity. Congratulations. :) And .. congrats finishing the Challenge.
I'm curious how people like this course compared to the half that goes through Magic Kingdom? I just ran the princess half and loved it, but I wonder how it compares to this one :)
You know, honestly, I really don't push the pace during Disney races. As you can see, I get lots of video, but I don't stop as much as a lot of runners who wait in lines for pictures with characters. I usually take a 30 or 45 second walk break about every 5 minutes ... sometimes it's every 10 minutes. Check out Galloway's recommendations for run/walk/run. I know some runners do 30 seconds run / 30 seconds walk .. that's a lot of starting and stopping during a half marathon!! :) Galloway says some people can get as low as a 8 minute pace with run walk ... I've never cracked 10-11 with it. And ... thanks.
RezRuns Thanks, I was just wondering because I was actually doing some research on Run walk run as I am registered for the Star Wars 10k in April, I'd love to do wine and dine one day!
It all depends on the race! I usually run/walk/run during Disney races because I am not overly concerned about my finish time. I'm happy if I maintain a 12-minute or less pace (so I can get cool video with the GoPro.) For non-Disney races, I sometimes run as much as possible to get a decent Proof-Of-Time or PoT for the Disney races. I hope I explained that well. :) Also, I push through discomfort a lot while training (lately) because I am trying to train my body to get faster.
Awesome video, and yep, you're officially now my favorite video recapper! 😃 And I had planned on filming PHM with an iPhone 7 but I'm adding a Go Pro to my holiday wish list. The quality is great!
Don't forget the gimbal! :P It keeps the video from being shaky... although you can use Warp Stabilizer in Adobe Premier Pro (sometimes!) I agree with Allison ... I like your videos too ... and I'm jealous. I need a fun channel trailer! :)
I heard Gerald on July's "Let's Run Disney" podcast during this morning's 8-mile training run for the 2017 W&D challenge. That excellent interview led me to search for this terrific video. Great job, Gerald! Hey, we both started in corral F. How come you didn't take my picture? :-)
LOL Thanks Bob! :) That was a huge corral... and if I remember it was so damn cold. I don't think I would have picked you out from all of the heavy sweats and plastic bags everyone was wearing. I'm sure you remember it well. Can't believe you didn't see yourself in that sea of about 800 people. I'm always surprised when people can find themselves. ... I can't find myself in the mirror. I enjoyed doing the podcast ... rock on man ... hope your training is going well.

Keep up the good work! I am starting to have mixed feelings about the marathon (exciting but dreading it at the same time)...

ML please, thanks!
Awesome... just double checking. Drawing in a few minutes. :)
13:05 Interactions with the Army Men are worth the price of the event itself.
Awesome race recaps - keep them coming. Hope to run with you in future races!
Thank you Mariusz. I'll be drawing for the two t-shirts on Thursday Dec 1 or Friday Dec 2 .. put you in for teh Men's Large?

You're very welcome Jennifer :) Happy training. I KNOW ~ it's not easy.

I did the challenge! That was my friend who got interviewed!

RezRuns I'm currently fundraising for the dl dumbo double dare challenge! :) I love Kellsie's hope!

When you walk during a race, how long do you walk for, and how often? Great video btw! :)

With the run/walk/run training do you follow that during your race or just while training?

How often do they offer water?

Joyful Miles your recaps are awesome too!!
Thanks so much, Allison, I appreciate it! :)

RezRuns It took me an incredibly long time to put together that tiny 34 second video. 😉
I believe it. It shows very good shot choice. Sometimes the best ones take .... forever :P

So it must be some kind of quad death ray emanating from the fountains there?! Congrats on completing the challenge!!
