Der Film beleuchtet die wahre Geschichte des märchenhaften Aufstiegs der beiden Tänzer Robert Pilatus und Fabrice Morvan alias Milli Vanilli zum schillerndsten Pop-Duo der späten 80er Jahre. Gemeinsam mit Musikproduzent Frank Farian wurden sie zu gefeierten Weltstars mit drei Nr. 1 Hits in den US-Charts. Lediglich ein kleiner Kreis Eingeweihter weiß, dass das Duo nicht selbst singt, sondern nur die Lippen bewegt - zu den Stimmen professioneller Sänger. Auf dem Höhepunkt ihres Ruhms gewinnen Milli Vanilli den Grammy Award. Aber die Lage hinter den Kulissen spitzt sich zu, der Druck auf das Duo wächst. Als schließlich die Wahrheit ans Licht kommt, blicken Fab und Rob in einen bodenlosen Abgrund und die Welt auf den vielleicht größten Skandal der Musikgeschichte.
Regie führt der vielfach ausgezeichnete Filmemacher Simon Verhoeven nach seinem Originaldrehbuch. Produzenten sind Quirin Berg und Max Wiedemann, Gewinner des Oscar® für DAS LEBEN DER ANDEREN und Produzenten von Erfolgsserien wie „Dark“, „Der Pass“ oder auch „4 Blocks“. I always loved MV and even after the whole fiasco, I really didn’t care because the music itself was great even though it wasn’t them singing. Catchy pop is catchy pop
They never deserved the Hate they got. Im glad the Movie tells the Story and shines a light on it and how it truly was. Fab is still doing Music, he is doing well. Esto fue una vendetta del productor, porque el lipsync fue siempre muy utilizado porque es casi imposible movilizar grandes aparatos de audio y electrónica para cada concierto. Sobre todo si eran Pop Synth Dance , todo requiere un gran Estudio y un ingeniero de sonido.

Absolutely the best biopic I have ever seen! This movie is a true masterpiece, and it deserves an Oscar! I watched it a couple of times, and I always find something new. The actors are terrific! Rob & Fab deserve recognition for their genuine efforts and authenticity.
You don't get to be on top of the world if you ain't something special!

Eine Zeitkapsel zurück in die für mich schönste Zeit meiner Jugend.
Ich bin Jahrgang 1974 und habe Milli Vanilli damals am 02.12.1989 live in der „Peters Pop Show“ in der Dortmunder Westfalenhalle gesehen. Damals war ich fast 16, im März werde ich 50 (wenn auch nicht emotional 🥳)
Als wäre es gestern gewesen.
Ich kann den Film nur empfehlen!
Selbst meine Freundin Jahrgang 1992 fand den Film top.

Ich hab mir den Film gestern das erste Mal im Kino angesehen und es wird mit Sicherheit auch nicht bei diesen einen Mal bleiben. Der ist einfach der absolute Hammer! Und wenn er am 03.Mai auf DVD erscheint muss ich den unbedingt haben. Vobestellt hab ich ihn mir schon.

Yeah according to what actually happened apparently most of the crowd didn't realize what was going on or noticed. Only some on lookers thought it was off and started to theorize the band might have been lip syncing. Although I would like to see someday the full concert and see what actually happened after he ran off stage. The only clip out there is part of the concert.

I dont care if it was fake. Most music today is fake anyway with the auto tune, yet Rob and Fab got raked over the coals, with Rob losing his life to suicide. This song is still a banger and they didnt deserve the way they were treated.

Dieser Film wird der erfolgreichste deutsche Film ever!!! Hoffentlich kommt er auch in die USA,ist ja in englisch gedreht. HOLLYWOOD könnte es nicht besser machen! Ich war schwer begeistert. We would have to wait to see the movie, it also seemed strange to me that his mother wasn't happy for Rob.
