The soul trembles from the story - the author has done a great job. You can feel the weight of the choice that Count Dooku made. All the burden that he carried all these years... It’s a pity that there is so little information about him, I would listen to the story about the giant Terentatek that he and Master Yoda met on Kashyyyk.
Sad fate. Tears welled up in my eyes when the second part of the video began. I felt the depth of the betrayal that his master so easily committed. And this is his promised reward, after all the sacrifices he made for the Master? Count Dooku deserves better. And I agree - "Count Dooku is much more powerful than Lord Sidious." (I respect you for these words). Count Dooku is my favorite, Jedi, Sith Lord, and just a character, forever. And also, in my opinion, this is one of the honest characters from Star Wars, how many times did he tell the truth about Sidious, but they didn’t believe him... How many times did he say that the Senate is corrupt and acts in its own interests, and not in the interests of the people. .. Thank you, Sir Cristosphere Lee for giving us this character, the way he conveyed his character, the pain towards Qui-Gon, the emotions that he conveyed when the one to whom he was loyal betrayed him. Thanks to him for playing as if he were Count Dooku, without fear, naturally - this is a great job. (In my opinion, all the roles that Sir Christopher Lee played were played naturally, and this is worth a lot. Eternal memory to him).
Author, I thank you for all the feelings and efforts that you put into creating this story. Great job. This piece will forever remain in my heart. Like. Subscription. And a lot of views on my part...

I remeber seeing E3 for the first time as a kid and I had no idea who General Grevaus was and why was he important because JL pretty much skipped the clone wars. Also, to everyone who was fascinated by this more in depth look at Dooku in Tales Of The Jedi please consider listening to the Dooku: Jedi Lost audiodrama and read the Yoda: Dark Rendezvous novel. You'll like him even more. Now, I'd like to add Dooku's death as it was narrated by Matthew Stover in the Revenge Of The Sith novel to perhaps add more gravitas to what's already a good tribute to the character:
"As he looks up into the eyes of Anakin Skywalker for the final time, Count Dooku knows that he has been deceived not just today, but for many, many years. That he has never been the true apprentice. That he has never been the heir to the power of the Sith. He has been only a tool.
His whole life-all his victories, all his struggles, all his heritage, all his principles and his sacrifices, everything he’s done, everything he owns, everything he’s been, all his dreams and grand vision for the future Empire and the Army of Sith-have been only a pathetic sham, because all of them, all of him, add up only to this.
He has existed only for this. This.
To be the victim of Anakin Skywalker’s first cold-blooded murder.
First but not, he knows, the last.
Then the blades crossed at his throat uncross like scissors.
    Snip.
And all of him becomes nothing at all"

Dooku is the best character introduced in the Prequels. Such a nuanced, fascinating character. His philospies are so *fascinating* and arguably 100% true. The only issue was his methods. Think about it - the concept of a divinely reigning monarch is based off of the principle that some people are blessed to have more authority and weight in the world. This is the basis that the Jedi built their philosophies from - and it is the exact same mentality that Qui-Gon Jinn has.
Dooku's biggest issue is the fact that he was far too obedient to Sidious. Even compared to other Sith apprentices, he was more controlled and demure.

    • @Hunghover
      @Hunghover Рік тому +17

No he wasn't. The dark side corrupted him completely and in the Clone Wars he was ordering planets carpet-bombed to spite Republic forces and enabling a race of slavers because Sith empires were traditionally built on the back of slaves on top of stealing from his own people to fund his war chest. Saying he was on the side of the people betrays a critical lack of understanding of his character. There was nothing altruistic about Darth Tyranus, he was by far the most evil of Sidious' three apprentices.

It’s interesting and simultaneously heartbreaking seeing the parallels between Dooku and Anakin. They were both good people with strong values who deeply cared about the ones around them in the beginning. But their disillusion with the status quo (the Senate and Republic, the Jedi Order) drove them to the darkness and Palpatine was able to manipulate them into becoming his weapons. In the end, that goodness and their beliefs were perverted into evil by the Sith. It’s so tragic thinking about what could’ve been if both Dooku and Anakin’s fates had turned out differently.

I feel like with tales of the Jedi, we can now read so much more in the face of Dooku before his death. It is not only betrayal by his master, but betrayal on a very deep level. He sacrificed everything for this cause, his friends, his allies, his order and then his values, ideals, his own people. He always justified it with it being worth in the end and now he is the one being sacrificed, but not for his own goals, but for Palpatines. He lost everything. His friends, his humanity and in the end his life, only for him to see that it was for nothing. Actually worse that, a total perversion of his original ideas. He became the instrument in his own dreams destruction, because of the betrayal of Palpatine which didn't happen when Dooku was killed, but when they first met. All crumbles around him and he remains as nothing.

When Master Yoda met Anakin Skywalker he sensed the same thing in him as he did in count Dooku. He knew that he had lost Dooku to the Dark side and knew that it could happen again if not careful. Count Dooku thought that just learning the force one side he would never have true balance. Dooku's mistake was to trust in Palestine, who was just using him to groom and prepare Anakin through a series of plots and battles. I personally would have liked it if Dooku would have had a love in his life where he would have had a child. Maybe even could have been Anakin's father. Oh well no one will never know.

Why are people treating the guy like he was a well-intentioned extremist, he may have started out as one but when he became Darth Tyranus he became the most evil of Sidious' three apprentices by far. Maul was mired in hatred, Vader was ironically the noblest of the three, Tyranus was scum.
Clone Wars showed him as a sadistic despot and there wasn't a single moment in the entire show that so much as implied he had some sort of evil honor the way Maul did or that some shreds of his former self were still there like for Vader in Rebels. In fact Tyranus was times and again shown to revel in his acts of evil. He knew what the Galactic Empire was really going to be like and was 100% on board with it. He was pissed when Sidious ordered Ventress to be executed but that was solely because she was his most powerful servant and Sidious knew it.
The Dooku that claimed to be on the side of the people was devoured by Sidious, the Sith Lord that appeared in Clone Wars might as well have been a different character. Maul eventually escaped being Sidious' pawn and Anakin was never fully extinguished, but Dooku was completely gone.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
