I'm currently building this kit and I think my kit came with an extra intake manifold. The part number is 12 which isn't even on the part list. Was this part intended for this build or was this an extra part from the starsky and hutch version?. I'm reborn into the hobby and am in love with your channel, mahalo and aloha from Oahu,Hawaii 🤙
I very nice review and build of this kit. The model club that I belong to is doing a group build of this kit. One is box stock and the other is pretty much do what you want. For the do what you want version. I am thinking about converting this kit to a utility vehicle and I will call it a El Gran Torino. Can you offer any suggestions on how I would do this?
GYMO, an ambitious project for sure. I guess I'd start with a MPC '86 El Camino kit and cut the roof line short on the Ford to graft the bed into the back end! Just cut and fit and add putty! -Doug
anther nice build Doug i was going to build the amt christine kit but i noticed from othere builds that it is not right as you no the movie car had 2 4 barrle carbs well the kit only has one
Awesome build you.did nice job It look a easy build ill wish could do painting like that just scare to mess up love those old cars especially old ford Ltd and ford Torino .cougar t bird in 70s well All car from GM too ill hope they will make 77 t bird or 77 cougar those .are nice cars or Chrysler Cordoba
Doug, great build, but the license plate. The Michigan '76 plates were awesome, those are classic plates! Seriously, though, nice review and build. Enjoy your work.
Wish they would fix the front header panel letters, side window openings and bumpers. No way to fix the bumpers without needing to replating them. This kit is not bad, but it sure needs a bunch of little fixes to make it right
B, Oh yeah. I remember now. That was 5 years ago. That's a "sand" paint meant to represent undercoating. It's on some of the other parts as well. Thanks for sharing and please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
Looks better if you darken the grille, (like a real car...). This is a really bland car, I'd. Put a couple of them in a HERTZ rent-a-car office as a diorama.
those 70's Fords were built like tanks...great family cars..neat kit , thanx
Nice instructions and great build. I'm watching this video because I want to build a pro street version. Thanks❤
LM, Thanks for watching, have fun! -Doug
Another awesome job and a great choice of color. Always look forward to you next build.
Thanks DH! -Doug

YG, That kit does come with a "spare" manifold that can be put in the parts bin or discarded. Thanks! -Doug
Nice build Doug.
Thanks, CS! -Doug
Thanks for sharing & for the paint tips
You bet Rosemary! Thanks for watching! -Doug

Ian, sounds like it's time to look through the parts stash for that intake option! -Doug
I need 2 find this 1 and the 63 Impala so I can build the cars I've had Years Years ago good job
JF, Good luck and have fun! -Doug
I wonder if there's any resin conversions to clone it to a 74 to 76 cougar I know there's resin Montego for those years
MP, Sorry, I haven't heard of one! Thanks for the watching and please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
Nice build I got the same kit working on it now
G, You'll like the kit as it has good fitting parts. -Doug
Beautiful paint man.
WC, thanks - I'm glad you like it! -Doug
Looks real nice in red! I'm getting one with my next paycheck.
What clear coat do you use?
BFM, I use an automotive two-part urethane clear coat! -Doug
Love it.
If i can find one i will paint it in the starsky and hutch corlors
J86, OK, but you could just buy a S&H kit: Revell #85-4023. It's reviewed here in the TV Show models! -Doug
Awesome build you.did nice job

Thanks RV, Don't be afraid to try painting. You'll only get better if you practice. Use some old junkyard bodies to paint first for practice! -Doug
🤣🤣Was that English??? Learn how to form a sentence!
Good review Doug. Thanks.
Thanks RZ! -Doug

SM - I gotta say - I was torn, but the logo plate is a tradition around here! -Doug
Can't argue with tradition!
Que pintura linda.
Me gusta el carro un Ford Gran Torino; muy bonito

OK, no prob! -Doug

DoWe, You're right, there's always room for improvements! -Doug
Should have painted it white with a red stripe. Then it could be a Starsky and Hutch evil twin. Kinda like Kitt and Karr.
CS - Hmmmm! -Doug
Well there were two Striped Tomato's on the original pilot episode so technically you could have two on the shelf
Why does the rear axle look "fuzzy?"
B, Out of the field of focus for the camera! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
@@RightOnReplicas @ 4:55 No it's in focus. Looks like it was flocked. Strange

I didn't see any reason to mess around removing the copyright script as the rear axle covers it and you'll never see it
B, That's entirely up to the builder. Thanks for sharing and please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
My dad had this car but a sedan. Red!
