I have seen his work first hand and it is some of the best. Talked with him about his builds at many shows. He is a great guy and tells you how he did something if you ask.
Awesome , these are super cool Mike . I love building models , especially when I was a kid . I'm 73 years young and growing up I love nice cars and trucks and fixing them up . I love detailing them to and I was a detailing manager for a car dealership and when we had new car shows I could make them shine and I have won several awards . Keep them videos coming my friend . Happy trails 👣
I’m always amazed at the detail. These people are able to put into these model builds along with the modifications😎 where they come up with the realistic parts is beyond me👍
Ive seen him post on a few Facebook pages and he does awesome work. He recently did a big rig build and he knocked that out of the park. Thanks for sharing that interview.
Wow… he put some effort into those. The one he failed at building as a kid would of course be his favorite. Stuff from childhood always has more personal meaning to it.
Im looking at all the detail in these cars (love the yellow 57 AWB) and Im so impressed with the skill it took. It takes a steady had to do some of that work.
Wow them are amazing builds. Great story and how you meet up with Mike . Thank for sharing. You always bring awesome videos and contents. Have a great week buddy 👊👊👍👍👊
Yup that’s exactly how I started in the hobby. It was a revell integra with a complete turbo kit. The details on that sucker back in 2005 where there was no 3d printing accessible. Been hooked ever since
Absolutely beautiful show Tim, thankyou for taking us all along so cool to see so many talented builders, love ya show and channel cheers KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸😎👍
Great video Tim thanks for sharing the story! Super cool that you were able to find out who the builder is and even crazier that you were able to meet up and do a walk around with him. The model or models you go back to look at three or four times during the course of a model show day Are the special ones 😊
5:00 pure truth if you're a real car/truck lover. When you get older, you do appreciate all different brand's makes and models (GM/Ford/Dodge etc), even though you still lean towards one company more than others.
Someone came up to me at a car show and said that someone had built a model like my 57 Gasser. I'd like to see it someday and give whoever built it a ride in the real deal.
Great video, the featured builder has a great eye for detail. The “Red Alert “ Chevelle is on my list for future builds, I have everything to do the old race team set AMT issued back in the 70’s including a couple sets of decals for the car and van I found on EBay awhile back Thanks again for sharing.
I always pay special attention to the chrome trim when I watch these videos. For the most part his is near flawless. I focus on the chrome because mine is hit or miss, especially on thin or narrow applications. Great video Tim, like to see more like this that spotlight specific builders.
I Love that Red Alert! 2:07 , that's the actual Year the real Red Alert is, 1970 Chevelle. I read that that's where AMT got the idea to make this model, but they made a 72 Chevelle version. Great show! Thank you for sharing!
The detail work on those kits is off the charts. I’ve saw some beautiful kits and those are right there with the best of them. Keep up the great work!!!!
On the Richie Evans car HOW do you get the detail so fine as to highlight each "bore" of the 4 barrel carb ? I'm learning that the details "make" the model. I've used washes, panel line accent etc. trying to get the details more realistic. But the builder (Mr. Garrett) imo, judging from this vid,is a real master. There's texture, shading, anodized, cast finishes etc. Not everything is supposed to look "painted." Excellent
Some nice models!Taking me a while too .have a rat rod in flat black and rust lol and a 67 chevelle that I'm doing in grape for the first time.good job!
I got goose bumps from head to toe when I saw the Richie Evans modified. I used to see him race at Thompson and Stafford. The memory is going as I get older but for some reason the 'B+M Speed Shop' decal really stirred some emotions. If anyone knows where it is/was (or if it actually existed or is fictional) please let me know. What an incredible build 👍🍻
I started my car crazy life by building models. When my brothers were playing sports in school, I was building model cars, or should I say model car. I never had more than one model built because I would use parts from all of them to build just one, Then I would study the look I created for a few days or weeks until I got another idea for a build from seeing one at the drags or on the street. Back in the 60s we did not have the stuff they have available today. I would save enough money to buy a model just for the cool parts. Only the old guys would know this but back in the 60s our 7-11 store sold model cars. The owner of our 7-11 store put up a little 3x5 index card by the models that said he was having a model car contest. He brought in a 4ft wide by maybe 5ft high display case to display all the entries. After seeing that he was having a model car contest I went to work on my entry. You see my uncles were totally into drag racing and I would go to the drags with them and study all the cars and wonder what my car would be when I grew up. My entry to the contest was ...a 1964 AWB (altered wheelbase) ford Galaxy. I threw every race part I could into that build just to have everyone laugh at how funny it looked with the altered wheelbase (it's a funny car). I assumed everyone knew what AWB cars were because drag cars were all I knew. Fast forward to when we met at the TRI-5 nationals at Beech Bend in Bowling Green and there I was with my real Blown 57 chevy nostalgic gasser. It represented all the influences from my early days of model car building down to the black and white rear wheels, I've owned my 57 chevy for almost 50 years and for that momentous occasion this year I am offering out my last rendition of this car. You can follow that build on my channel. If I knew more about what you were into, I would have talked your ear off about it, but I could tell you were working. Go back to your TRI-5 video and you will see my 57 in it. BTW.: Building these models take a lot more skill than building the real thing, and cheaper too .lol
I bet in the next few years we're actually are going to start to get metal car bodies in 1:25 and 1:24 scale size. I'm pretty sure you know about metal earth model kits where you have to twist the flat peg to attach it together. But I believe we're going to start seeing this conversion from plastic bodies to metal bodies.
Those are some really impressive builds, I’ve seen his work first hand and it’s really good. It’s fun building model cars, but I really enjoy adding all the detailing to them and the paint jobs.
