    These are cool looking cars and I'm glad that Moebius did a great job creating this kit.

    What do you use for paints? I just bought this model and basic tools but, not sure on paints. Can's, airbrush? Can you please advise? I'm very confused on the paint options. Thank you, Dana

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  2 роки тому

      Dana, Yes and yes, if you get proficient you can use either. One thing though, spray can paint is thicker and only comes in the color that's in the can. You'll lose some detail on you're model like script lettering there. Air brushing has the advantages of allowing you to control the thickness and mixing colors for the perfect match. All of that of course, takes some practice. -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

    That model is not correct in several ways. The interior furnished is from a Hornet and not the lower priced Hornet Special. So the seats and dash are incorrect. The Hornet Special used the interior of the Hudson Super Wasp. The suggested colors of the interior are not at all correct. If you have owned the real cars you see the errors.

    Nice flocking. The way i do it is to paint the floor pan in the color of the flock, then, while the paint is wet, I pour the flocking on it. The paint will dry with the flocking stuck in.

      @@RightOnReplicas No problems. i find that by doing it like that, you don't get any "Transparent" spots where you can see right through the flock. I do a lot of Games Workshop - Warhammer bases and I have seen people put white glue on black plastic and then use scenic grass...it always has a transparent "Stuck On" look, whereas painting, even if there's a bald spot, looks correct.

    Wow! Beautiful. Is that particular model still available? Have you ever noticed how the Hudson and Chevy favor? What do you think the ships meant on the mats? Great job on detail, paint, foil & interior. I worked for hours trying to outline 1 window with foil with no success. I gave up for a toothpick and magnifying glass.

    Nicely done. But, I always hated those taillights. The look like someone stood across the room and threw them onto the body. Hudson should have set them into the body recessed, or ran a chrome peace up from the backup lights to meet the bottom of the assembly. They just stick out from the body like an afterthought.

      I love the tail lights, having owned five1954 Hudsons, including a `54 SW Cvt. The `54 Hornet Specials had either green or blue houndstooth seat inserts and door panels. The solid broadcloth with contrasting bolsters came in Hornets and vinyl came in Hollywoods and leather in convertibles. Glad you now finally get `54 Hudson models and diecast cars.

    • @neildickson5394
      @neildickson5394 7 років тому

      Clarkecars Don't you think they are awkward? I mean they just stick out from the body. I always thought it looked like a missing part was gone. Had they ran a chrome bar up from the backup lights, it would have looked more cohesive. Similar to the 54-55 Willys Aero. If you take it's chrome away, it would look like a 54 Hudson.

    • @jennifercole281
      @jennifercole281 3 роки тому

      Now if I thought that, I'd want to build my kit that way. I've built a couple of models where I "corrected" some small details I didn't like. Not so much that it looked like a show car - I cut the bottom spoke out of the steering wheel of a '55 Chevrolet kit because I wanted it to be a 2lO instead of a Bel Air.
      On to the taillights, I agree with you. I had a '69 Cadillac with exposed taillight lenses that completed the top of the tailfins and they were easily broken & expensive to replace. One time a grocery boy broke one of them just trying to put something heavy in the trunk.
