I appreciate the gesture man. Lifted Van meet November 1-3. I just want to see my friends happy and enjoying their van build. Action Van doesnt have the online presence like WTD and I have a few friends on the fence on Action Van Vs WTD. I have a ton of video up of my friends vans with both kits and a few of my friends made the move to AV because they can budget the price.
Your video is going to get more people sitting on the fence to get off it and get lifted finally.

This is interesting. I grew up in a 69 Econoline 200 poptop camper built by TEC, pics on profile. Our van was at stock height, but on a rockhounding in eastern Oregon, we pushed that 2 Wheel Dr. van and my grandfathers 2 Wheel Dr. for pick up truck to their absolute limits of articulation and suspension travel. Both vehicles had Posi rear differentials, we never got stuck. We were stranded with a blown tire from the sidewall puncture for about four hours. But we had so much articulation in that stock van that we could stuff the tires all the way up till he hit the bops and compress them. The down travel was pretty incredible, given as far as I know this was all stock OEM. The four twin Ibeam, was world renowned in its day for massive wheel travel and good ride quality.

Most of my crew is running a 2wd Lifted Van. A couple of 4x4s will be there. I have a OX locker selectable locker and my goal is to find the limits of where you can enjoyably get these vans too.
This upcoming meet will be a good challenge for the 2wd Lifted guys and easy work for the 4x4 guys.

One thing I noticed is how much That_van_guyy had to cut his front fenders and even doors to get the tire to fit and flex. I know the Weld tech 6 inch kit pushes the front wheels FWD to compensate a bit. Love that both companies exist for us lifted econoline people 🤘

He crammed 35s in his. Weldtec is suppose to accept 35s I believe you have to notch the I-beams and do a little trimming.
      Biggest tires I seen on a AV no cutting is 285-75-17 that's a 34.
      That's the tire size I will go with eventually. I'm at a 4:10 gear and with a 4:10 and 33s I'm at a 3:82 gear. So 34s I'll be at the stock 3:73.
Av and WTD had allowed people to have the cool 4x4 look for the fraction of the price.
Most of my friends are running AV or WTD and everyone I know loves their vans that's why we do meets. We're fanatics lol

I have the WTD 6 on 35’s and had to do a little trimming to keep from rubbing up front . Even with 2 inch wheel spacers. Running 4:56 gears. Perfect combo Love my van 🙌

@@thomasbrun8695 Were you just going for more low end power that's why you went 4:56?
I wanted to keep decent fuel economy thats why I didn't go 35s and 4:30 or 4:56 gears. I still get 16 MPG on road trips Grandma driving with the V10 engine.
I still tow my Tracker like it's not there.

I owned 2 ford vans. 1 was built by east county alignment worked good . Next van my 2006 v10 ext 15 passenger. Jeremy at weld tech accessed what was needed and went to work. 2 weeks later the van was ready. Custom front coils and rear springs SDG did all the shock work limit straps changed suspension bushings and probably the best mod he had done for me was lsd and regear differential.one stop shopping was a time saver and made the transaction very simple

    Weldtech Cons
    1. No sway bar
    2. Narrow tire with
    3. 3in rear blocks
    4. Bronco Skyjacker coils
    5. Bent I- beams
    6. Stock I-beam brackets
    7. Overpriced
    8. Double doughnut radius bushing
    9. No steering stabilizer
    10. Jeremy Johnson.

    • @JohnDrivesAnything
      @JohnDrivesAnything  3 місяці тому +2

NGL #10 made me lol for real.
#1 Don't like how the sway bar is deleted. If you get into an accident a good lawyer can say you lost control because of no sway bar. Now Weldtec gives you the option to keep it. $500 extra
#2. Narrower means less stable on top of of no sway bar.
      #3 I need an add a leaf
#4 My lift kit has been in 3+ years and I noticed its sitting lower then JaviWasabis van. He also has a Weldtec. My springs are losing height. Springs made for a 4500 pound SUV in a 6500 pound van
#5 A good lawyer can say youu have Bent I beams that caused you to lose control. It says do not bend
#6 I think OEM brackets are fine.
#7 Its actually $7000 installed now. Ask Larry what does it cost to get thier base kit installed.
#8 Action Van Base Kit has double donut but they go Heim on the Ultimate Arm. For Weldtec price it should be Heim not Double Donuts.
#9 Its Extra, just like a Sway bar.
#10 yeah that made me lol for real

Reading some comments. Sway bar delete is a bad idea.
Detachable end links better if you really need superior flex, butvi expect that would only be useful with a 4x4.
I would like a front and rear sway bar. Prefer better road handling, 3 inch lift, rear lock differential for occasional loose gravel/mud/light snow.

    • @JohnDrivesAnything
      @JohnDrivesAnything  3 місяці тому

Aprreciate the input and I hope people on the fence of Action Van or Weldtec sees your comment.
I did not like how Weldtec deleted the sway bar. Action Van Suspension Retains it.
When I had a Action Van lift on my last van the stability was rock solid. On this van with no sway bar on a windy day my van is wandering a lot.
The big one people don't consider is if you get into a accident a good lawyer can say you lost control due to the lack of sway bar.
I always recommended Action Van Suspension and one of the biggest reason is it retains the sway bar.
Weldtec removes it for the sake of bragging about articulation. Here's the thing. When they lift RVs they keep the sway bar. WTD know sway bars are an important feature and removing it from their van lift kits for articulation bragging rights is not worth it to remove such an important component in my opinion.
People who do go with Action Van are free to remove the sway bar and they will Flex as much as a Weldtec but I say keep it for safety and insurance liability.

Depends on the rear . How far does the rear springs droop. Shock length a spring rates . The suspension only does what it’s limited to. Split beams get crazy flex with the right setup. Just peak under any truck with whoop scissors

You said it, you wanted to look cool.
Because of the marketing, Weldtec is much more well known. That would make it the cooler lift kit to have on your van. And now you regret spending the extra $2k.
Weldtec is a for profit business. They did their job. And delivered on a better than stock ride promise.
That's like hating on Nike when you can't dunk like Jordan.
Someone not caught up in looking cool would've just gotten another Action Van lift kit because you already had one and liked it. That's on you bro.

No regrets at all. Since I have had both lift kits I can give my honest unbiased recommendation to people wanting a lifted van. The $2000 price gap install vs install is up to $3000 now. A lot of my friends could not budget a Weldtec lift and went with Action Van and are really impressed.
Made lots of friends making lifted van content and reviews and it was cool of Jake to send me a Action Van Flex video to show that Weldtec is a lot of marketing hype and people on the fence might make the jump to AV now because now they know Weldtec doesn't blow AV away.
I said it before and I'll say it again I have never tried to talk anyone out of buying a Weldtec. Most of my friends have AV or WTD.
I just want to see my friends happy and enjoying this as much as I do. I hope you are too. God Bless you.

      @JohnDrivesAnything  3 місяці тому +2

I'm not allowed to make comparison videos? I noticed Weldtec fans like to say Weldtec is the best without any data. They just take WTDs word for it.
I'm doing my best to give people actual facts. I made friends with both WTDs and AVs. Someone said hey I'll get my AV on a fork lift for you so you can expand on this topic.
So I showed both WTD and AV flexing and I'm letting people know if you want a lift and cant Afford WTDs $7000 install price AV is $3500 and flexes as much
What's the problem? Looking at the comments it looks like people appreciate the data because they want to spend their money wisely.
Did you miss the part where I say if you are a Weldtec fan and you appreciate their content spending the extra money on their lift is a great way to say thank you to them.
