I had to take summer school in 2019 because I didn't do my history homework. I listened to this everyday. After school I would play Super Mario Maker 2 for hours. Good times.
So I realize that there are a few of songs I've missed within' both collaborations that should be added (such as the "nice" song from Hotel and the "WAA" level OST).
Crazy coincidence then, because it sounds almost the exact same and he uses the same two channels for both. The accidental plagiarism is uncanny, but imitation is the highest form of flattery.
This soundtrack makes me think of an SMW hack in which Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach come into the real world to prevent Bowser from conquering it ("The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3", much?). The level themes are as follows: -Here We Go - 0:00 = The Mushroom Kingdom (a good place to start the game, obviously) -Athletic - 0:45 = The Wild West -Cave 1 - 1:36 = Sewers -Switch Palace - 3:00 = Self-explanatory -Forest - 3:51 = Australia -Desert - 5:00 = Egypt -Fortress - 6:36 = Transylvania -Cave 2 - 7:54 = Onboard a [steam] train -Mountain - 9:17 = Greece -Ice - 10:26 = Arctica, the North Pole -Fire 1 - 11:31 = A volcanic jungle island ruled by dinosaurs -Castle 1 - 12:41 = Star Koopa (Bowser’s fully-armed and operational battle station) -Abstract - 15:07 = The Internet -Grass & Forest - 16:36 = Six Flags -Desert - 17:13 = Arabia -Snow - 17:41 = Antarctica, the South Pole -Cave 1 - 18:09 = Hollow Earth -Mountain 1 - 19:20 = Alaska -Sky - 20:12 = China -Abstract 1 - 20:43 = Cambodia -Fortress - 21:33 = Russia -Best Levels 1 - 22:15 = England & Wales -Worst Levels 1 - 22:53 = Any paranormal sighting -Worst Levels (Beta/Unused) - 24:14 = Area 51 -Title Screen - 25:20 = Any metropolitan area -Cave 3 - 26:05 = Japan -Water - 28:22 = Atlantis -Ghost House - 30:18 = [Neo-]Nazi Germany -Factory - 32:25 = Any industrial region -Castle 2 - 34:36 = Self-explanatory -"Pastel Wind" - 36:38 = Holland -Boss Battle - 37:51 = Self-explanatory -Grass & Hub - 39:38 = The Great Plains -Beach 1 - 41:03 = Any sea cruiser -Forest 1 - 41:54 = Dark Africa and the Amazon -Cave 2 - 42:46 = The Richtersveld -Mountain 2 - 43:30 = The Himalayas -Factory - 44:25 = Any subway station -Snow & Sky - 45:15 = Canada -Fire/Lava - 45:49 = India -Best Levels 2 - 46:44 = Scotland & Ireland -Worst Levels 2 - 47:31 = The innards of some giant monster -World X 1 - 48:12 = Onboard a space shuttle -Beach - 49:05 = California, Florida, and Hawaii -Night - 49:43 = The Moon -Rain - 52:31 = Mayincatec (central and southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, western Ecuador, western and south-central Bolivia, northwest Argentina, northern Chile, and southwestern Colombia) -Fire 2 - 54:08 = Inside a volcano -"Into the Fortress" - 55:12 = Final Level -Grass - 58:00 = France -Forest 2 - 58:29 = The Black Forest -Ice/Snow - 59:13 = Vatican City & Rome -Cave 3 - 1:00:34 = Any parking lot -Mountain 3 - 1:01:12 = Spain, Portugal, and northern Mexico -Beach 2 - 1:01:55 = The Caribbean -Haunted - 1:02:33 = Self-explanatory -Space - 1:03:20 = Self-explanatory -"Can You Feel" (Abstract 2) - 1:03:51 = Korea -Best Levels 3 - 1:05:36 = Scandinavia -Worst Levels 3, Part 1 - 1:06:10 = Any circus -Worst Levels 3, Part 2 - 1:06:26 = Any medical center -World X 2 - 1:07:05 = Koopa Territory -"STREAMSIDE" (1.10 Version) - 1:08:15 = This one should NOT exist!
I got it while the song was still in development, but unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on the txt because Sinc-X already did the changes without backing it up. As soon as I make a MP3 release, I'll make sure to include all the SPCs along with it.
A few things...: 1. How many of these were actually composed for the projects? I know for a fact that the very first remix at the beginning of this video had been around for years prior to the VLDC7, so which others weren't done specifically for the collabs? 2. Where are the MP3's for VLDC7? Not trying to rush you at all, I'd just like to know if there's any other way to obtain them at the moment. 3. There were a couple other songs made for the VLDC 7 and 8 that weren't released with the rest of the soundtracks. In VLDC7 there was a track composed by Moose that played in the Password Room and the level "Shivery Summit", and in VLDC 8 there was another track Moose did for Izuna's level "Trunk Trouble". Would you be able to upload high-quality MP3's for those as well?
1: I believe about 95% of the songs were composed for the project. The first two were around since forever, but they released both for the official soundtrack of VLDC7 (which is why I included them to begin with) 2: Still gotta do it. The long way to do it is extracting .wav files from the SPCs using an SPC player, but that is a tedious process. 3: Thanks for the report; I am aware that I missed quite a few "level-specific" tracks since I didn't have time to play/watch all the entries when I made this video. The other few I missed were the Waa OST and the nice song from Hotel.
The Sky world map from 7th VLDC is the one from SMWCP. The composer remixed that, but he couldn't get the remix ported in time for the 7th VLDC's release, so the original version is getting used.
I never liked it myself either. It was originally from SMW Central Production, which I guess the leaders decided it was good enough to include in the official soundtrack for VLDC7 and beyond.
32:25 Factory theme is so incredibly underrated I stg
Def the best song in the mario rom hack series
I love the desert theme at 5:00. Someone at Nintendo should hire this guy.
That's Red&Green for ya
Nintendo, hire this man!
My favorite soundtrack at 1:03:51
Let's goooo Abstract Map/Can You Feel is king shit
I had to take summer school in 2019 because I didn't do my history homework. I listened to this everyday. After school I would play Super Mario Maker 2 for hours. Good times.
The cave one for VLDC 7 is by far the best one, its so underrated
28:22 I love it
Think the time stamp for abstract was messed up. Here's the real time 20:44
Abstract is 1:03:51
Think they ment the theme for abstract in VLDC7
So I realize that there are a few of songs I've missed within' both collaborations that should be added (such as the "nice" song from Hotel and the "WAA" level OST).
Are you going to upload those anywhere?
Can't wait for VLDC10
Is out already?
These are all so good... If only the downloads also came in MP3 format.
I should probably go do that asap.
Oh man would you really? That would be fantastic.

Can we get an extended version of the Abstract one? plz
You can find a few extended reupload of it on youtube. Just look up VLDC9 Abstract and you'll find some
1:02:33 sounds so, so much like Gruntilda's theme. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I'm fairly certain it was.
According to the person who created the track, it actually wasn't intentional at all, and he never played any of the Banjo games.
Crazy coincidence then, because it sounds almost the exact same and he uses the same two channels for both. The accidental plagiarism is uncanny, but imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Thank you for posting! i love smw hack songs, and the VLDC ones are some of the best!
I wonder if we'll get a VLDC X by 2025
Where'd you even find VLDC7's unused Worst World theme?!
I got it while the song was still in development, but unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on the txt because Sinc-X already did the changes without backing it up. As soon as I make a MP3 release, I'll make sure to include all the SPCs along with it.

Do you have any idea where "Into the Fortress" can be found?
I'm sorry, but goddamn. Here We Go just got grating as hell after being used so often.
I never liked it myself either. It was originally from SMW Central Production, which I guess the leaders decided it was good enough to include in the official soundtrack for VLDC7 and beyond.
