From the lovely Philadelphia neighborhood of Chestnut Hill to Center City Philadelphia. Wissahickon Drive to East River Drive. In fall when the leaves change or in spring/summer when the paths are filled with bikes and people.
I think Philadelphia is so overlooked... It is beautiful, it's like Manhattan and Boston combined together to get that giant modern city yet historic small town feel.
mustafa issa no it's not Manhattan philly is a city of 1.6 million people it's the fifth largest city in the u.s.a. you see the crowd's at morning rush lunchtime and evening rush.
If I were you, instead of turning left on Broad Street, you could have headed a few more feet up and left on the Parkway. Parkway is gorgeous with all the flags and the Art Museum and the Boathouse Row.
I went to Philly on a business trip recently and was amazed at how much I enjoyed the city and YES, the people. I am from WV and we are used to the country type hospitality and had heard many horror stories about Philly, well, I thoroughly enjoyed the week I spent there. Wife and I walked the streets every evening and did not have one bad experience. I am a city person at heart as I love the diversity, culture and overall ambience of a city. Yes, there are some drawbacks but overall it was a very good stay. We are planning to go back sometime later this fall for a vacation as we did not get to see all that we wanted because I was in class til 4pm. I cannot say anything bad about Philly.
One drawback is that everything closes up shop much to early for a big city. I was surprised that most everything was closed by 7 or 8pm. Even in the small capital city of Charleston, WV our stores, malls and such stay open until 9:30 on weekdays. Still, I loved Philly and cannot wait to go back, just have to get up early to enjoy all it has to offer.
No it's not at all. The Northeastern part of the city is over 50% of the city, which is very nice. What about Roxborough, Chestnut Hill, East Mt Airy, Manayunk, Society Hill and University City? Philadelphia is a very large, heavily populated city, 1.6 million people within the city limits. Every large city will some depressed areas, but it's hardly 70%!!
Philadelphia center is really awesome. You run along historical buildings and turn around to see the Financial District, it's breathtaking. I love all that different building styles close togheter. A little bit of Manhattan and Boston combined, it's true. Nice video, well done.
Best part about driving on Broad or Market is how City Hall slowly comes into view. What a building! Center City has a Manhattan feel of sorts with the skyscrapers; Old City feels like Boston's North End with cobblestone streets and tiny doors and weathered cellar hatches.
What, no ride along Roosevelt Blvd? Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia is one of the most dangerous thoroughfares in America. The boulevard consists of six, 12-foot wide lanes in each direction, and drivers regularly exceed the posted 45 miles per hour and take the road’s dangerous curves far too fast. The boulevard also has two of the nation’s most dangerous intersections, where confused drivers frequently turn into the wrong three-lane stretch of traffic. It's basically a 12-lane superhighway at grade with pedestrians and traffic lights with cross-traffic.
Philadelphia "Philly" is a nice city. Has rich historic roots of this country. Beautiful old architecture comprised of Churches, Buildings, houses, etc. mixed with modern sky scrapers. I visited there this summer 2017 in July. I would recommend going to see the Philadelphia Museum of art and the (rocky steps) ofcourse, Pat's King of Cheesesteaks, Center City, Comcast Center, 51 Arch St Building(Skygarten) bar on 50th floor, Oyster House on Sansom St...they have the best Soft Shell Crab ever...wow! , Reading Terminal Market(huge spot for food vendors and food stalls, very crowded everyday), One Liberty Place and 30th St Station.

One night in 1986 between 10:00 and 11:00 I walked all the way from the Navy Yard up to City Hall on Broad St. I was alone and didn't have any money on me to take the subway. When I got to City Hall I had to walk over to Corinthian St., which runs beside Eastern State Penitentiary, in order to get to my apartment. It was a stupid thing to do that late at night, but no one bothered me and I made it home safely. It was a great way to see some of the city. I wouldn't dare do it these days!
Philly holds its own. It is not the showcase city for the region it is in. That title goes to NYC (NE); CHI (MidAm); and LA (WCoast). Thanks! Great question - Similar in a number of ways? Tough question to answer :) Lots to see and do around the City Hall area. Three remarkable cities!
Philly is definitely unique in it's own right. For one thing, it's greener. you'll see more trees and parks than you would in NYC (can't say for Chicago, never been there). It feels more open and not so claustrophobic. If you go to Center City you'll definitely get that urban vibe you get when you visit bigger cities. When you go places such as Old City or Germantown you'll get that old timey feel which is pretty cool. You'll have a great time there, no place else like it. :)
Whoa, you never made it up to Temple. Nice tour though. No graffiti, no litter, no muggings. Philadelphia is going to get a different reputation. Go Birds.
goldmartijn no way lol most of Philly areas are just ghettos . only the downtown , old city and a few other areas are decent in the city . Europe is nothing like that even in the poorest countries.
How do you suppose? Some of the architecture might have to do with it, such as the large building in the front at 6:10, it looks rather European. I think it also has to do with the fact that Philadelphia is one of the oldest major cities in the United States, along with other eastern/colonial cities that have some European characteristics such as New York, Boston, Baltimore, DC, et cetera. Places like Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Diego, they don't have very much anything European about them, and that's to be expected because they were not part of the original colonies. There is a street in Philadelphia, I don't know if you've heard of it, but it's been named the oldest residential street in the US. It's called Elfreth's Alley and its quintessentially European. Could have told me that it's some street in Edinburgh and I might have believed you.
@@nafisfuadshad7377 it's a town in Philly that's literally the worse, if you go there you'll see hella drug addicts, needles, and probably hear some gunshots.
such videos should always display coordinates on the bottom of each frame so watchers can revisit in detail anything they like though google street view, earth or maps!!!
Seems like congestion would be a nightmare with only two lanes open in each direction. And Id hate to drive a big truck or SUV on those narrow streets too.
As a German I sometimes have the feeling that the U.S. is on the same degree of latitude like Germany. But it's not. It's much more south. In this video you can see it by the very bright sunshine and pure blue sky.
its actually more north and south, so both, it stretches from as north as Alaska to south as florida/californoa, either way you are right my friend Germany is about same latitude as central USA, in fact many Germans immigrated to USA and most went to guesd where? Midwest USA which is in central USA same latitude as Germany funny right? look it up its interesting

Thanks! Great question - Similar in a number of ways? Tough question to answer :) Lots to see and do around the City Hall area. Three remarkable cities!
Philadelphia is not as constrained and defined by bodies of water as NYC and Chitown.
rdecredico What difference does that portray in the feel of it? Besides the lack of water, per se.
Don't go to Germantown or anywhere past the temple campus. It's bad. Other than that, Philly is a beautiful city
Hey great video! I wish my channel was half as good as yours ☺ what did you use to record it? Did you stabilize it in post production and how?
So clean
I live in Northeast Philadelphia could you do a drive in Northeast Philadelphia unless you already have one
NE is a whole nother Philadelphia entirely. Philly has a very diverse landscape, with every kind of neighborhood imaginable.
glad to live here
Whoa, you never made it up to Temple. Nice tour though. No graffiti, no litter, no muggings. Philadelphia is going to get a different reputation. Go Birds.
about time Girard Girard Ave he in North Philly, this is basically a tour of part south and north broad street . good vid.
thanks alot, brought me nostalgia.
Thank you for that!
It looks a bit more European than most cities?
goldmartijn no way lol most of Philly areas are just ghettos . only the downtown , old city and a few other areas are decent in the city .
Rick Rodz You ever been here because that's far from true.
Don Wall I lived in Portugal and I visit Austria , Germany and Switzerland.
Rick Rodz You've never been here and you're saying it is ghetto?
Awesome very nice city
I might move over there this year.
CAN YOU GUYS PLS PRAY FOR ME?🙏🙏

You winn the USA lottery
Warning no Kensington
don't go to Kensington, just don't.
JoeyIsKing what do u mean by kensington?
@@nafisfuadshad7377 it's a town in Philly that's literally the worse, if you go there you'll see hella drug addicts, needles, and probably hear some gunshots.
such videos should always display coordinates on the bottom of each frame so watchers can revisit in detail anything they like though google street view, earth or maps!!!
That's a good idea!
I'm a great fan and I think it'll make your videos even better!
It"s interesting great town
:)
What is J UTAH? May be because I am not from English speak areas I don"t know that.
what is sign :)
Downtown is where it's at dawg.
Center City it's naturally called.
Seems like congestion would be a nightmare with only two lanes open in each direction. And Id hate to drive a big truck or SUV on those narrow streets too.
Where do you live. This is normal. It is mostly congested in bad wheather.
Its called “city traffic”, every city has them.
Philadelphia is one of the most walkable/bikable american cities, so traffic is not that bad actually since not everyone is driving
😍Like a GTA game
cool video! do you think you could do Denver, Colorado sometime? thank you!
Possibly in the next few months - Thanks for sharing!
Next time do Miami if you did not
As a German I sometimes have the feeling that the U.S. is on the same degree of latitude like Germany. But it's not. It's much more south. In this video you can see it by the very bright sunshine and pure blue sky.
Considerably different. Philly: 39.9526° N. Frankfurt: 50.1109° N
its actually more north and south, so both, it stretches from as north as Alaska to south as florida/californoa, either way you are right my friend Germany is about same latitude as central USA, in fact many Germans immigrated to USA and most went to guesd where? Midwest USA which is in central USA same latitude as Germany funny right? look it up its interesting
What's the deal with all the poles in the middle of the street starting at 12:40? Great video. Liked and subscribed.
Buddy Clem they light up at night
They're supposed to be light poles, but they emit very little light. Hugh eyesores are what they really are. Waste of money.
Looks nice & tidy, may be it doesn’t have amazing views. But still good.
In person, it’s fabulous.
Bama boy moving to philly soon who buying me cheese steak😂😂😂😂😬✌😎
Go to Maxs’ on Germantown & Erie, best in the city.
It wasn't that sunny when I visited...
