I bought tons of books from used library book sales. Books were as cheap as 10 cents and as expensive as 1.75. I almost have too many books now lol but I also believe you can't ever have enough books.

Brilliant move grabbing books at VV! For added savings, get a loyalty card and shop with a senior on Tuesdays! (That's how I built my 800+ book library!) Giving kids the gift of books is invaluable. Find a central and highly visible location for your classroom library and make booktime a priority every day and you'll have a happy, calm, creative kindergarten class with a huge vocabulary! Well done! 😍
Oh this is a good tip! One of my biggest goals is to have a big classroom library filled with books my kiddos will love! 🥰
@@haileykatelynn Another way to get the kids excited about books/reading as is to count how many books you read throughout the year. My class celebrates our 100th book rather than our 100th day of school. We do a pajama day with stuffies and an extended booktime (sometimes we invite our buddy class to read with us!).

I have a few, Night before books, but I forgot to read The Night Before Summer Vacation on the last day of school lol. I just went to a goodwill in Arizona, I found some Miss Bindergarten books. I love a good deal. You should check to see if they're having a 50% off day soon & go get more books.

You could use the One Hundred Hungry Ants book when you celebrate the 100th day of school with your students. If you want to preserve your soft cover books, buy some clear packaging tape and put of strip of tape along the spine vertically. You were mighty lucky with all of the books that you found.

Looks like you found some good books at Value Village. Mine kind of sucks so I do better at thrift stores... Dinorella was one of my fav books growing up... and If you are one of their super savers at Value Village... Sometimes they do 50% off books day... Thats usually when I go!
This Value Village is a super nice one, so I got pretty lucky! Thrift shopping for books is so fun & a great way to find books cheap!

Omg we don’t have a value store that organized here in San Diego so I’m thinking maybe going to my local library. I’m also thinking about asking parents to donate 3 books. I tried Goodwill but everything seemed super worn out and dirty.

Hi! I too love the Scaredy squirrel book, it's so clever! You did really well at the thrift store. I am enjoying hearing about new books that I could get to add to my never ending collection!! Have you heard of 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers? It's about a boy who finds a penguin on his doorstep and what happens next. It's got fab pictures and great to read a loud. Xx
