This is the kind of work that built our country. that most people look at the final result and few appreciate the work and skill that that these brave men and women have t o make it happen. Never let your spud wrench rust for lack of use. Thank you! 🇺🇸
No woman. They cant safley do what a man can for a sustained period of time. I had to drill bar joices off of a ladder all day for 2 weeks starting from a no.1 up to a 5/8 hole trust me no woman can do that. If she can I'll work with her anytime anywhere. Oh ya couldn't use a magdrill either
One of my friends worked in erecting steel frames for buildings, something happened ( ? ) anyhow a steel beam fell, crushed his legs, amputated left leg below knee cap, right leg above knee cap ! Its very dangerous work ! 😢
More than likely an injury like that was the result of getting caught between beams falling over on the ground, there's often very little room once the iron is shook out.
The term, WILL NOT STAND, has nothing to do with needing steel re inforcement added. China Town will not STAND if put in without a Certificate of Occupancy. Good work.
splice plates could have been better fabricted/detailed. Top flange plates should have been on other beam with bottom flange plates on beam they were sitting on.
Because he knows that his weight isn't just huge, it is added stability to his ability, doncha know? Makes alla girls scream. especially the one repairing his safety pants. Holy cow, for me, that was heart stopping pincheroonie mt'rl right there at the end. Hard hat check!
when I watch those kinds of videos, I am not too worried about the height, I assume they are not afraid of height and they wear safety harness, but I am worried about the fingers.
That actually want pretty smooth. The guy flagging was a pro with a good feel for the rig, walking the piece in like that, because you only have 1/8" play, top and bottom, is my guess. Were the bolts in the splice plates snapped tight already..? I can't tell because of the editing how long it actually took, but 'way to look after the green connector. lol He's lucky to have had a good partner. Local 86, Seattle.
Never saw anything close to as anyone losing there fingers, but I wasn't up there were you. It went pretty smoothly for what they by ad to work with, piss poor fabrication design

They could have made the connection in half of the time if the beam was rigged with a single choker.
Hope these guys buy that crane operator a beer every payday.

We need more feminist women working on this type of work... you know work equality
Art B why do you need to be a feminist woman to be an ironworker? Why not just a WOMAN?

That cantilevered connection was a bitch ! Nice job boys.
Spent years in crane and climbing.
It's more stressful in crane since a mistake can hurt or kill a guy..
