Good detailed view of the process, creatively presented. Like many people I buy little electronics components online from China and have them shipped to my home in the US. More costly items get much more scrutiny and have considerable importation expenses. Recently a US UA-camr ordered an electric motorcycle from a Chinese seller on Alibaba. He was not prepared for the shitshow that followed. In my business I sometimes would have costly mechanical parts cast in China. Hi my husband is interested in one. Would you be selling your old one soon? We are based in Wellington. TIA.
Oh nice! But nope, we're keeping the SR for a while. My wife uses it for commuting. There are a bunch of used ones for sale overseas though if you feel like importing one.
Bro there is no zero motor cycle show room in New Zealand...?
Nope. Zero doesn't want to sell them here.
I bough mine in Australia... Just before they pulled out. I'm having to get parts in the States and take them back with me. I love the bike, but I'm not very happy with the company.
2nd for 2nd Zero ! 😀
I like your Tesla sweatshirt. I too like to wear my Tesla attire in my videos.
Thanks! Oh man, I'll check your vids out now 😁👍
Hey so cool :) finaly you can ride out with your GF on two Zeros. 👍🏼
Yeah!! This will bridge the gap while I wait for a DC fast charging bike ;D
@@NewZeroland No big deal you have plenty space in your garage. hehe But a fast charger would be a real game changer.
I was realy suprised by that high cost for shipping and stuff to NZ. 😱 Its wery expensive.
@@LexSummer it is! I mean it's all in NZD so convert that to euros or whatever and it's way less.. but still too expensive. Gotta try and save some money next time by paying less GST!
That was a really useful video as I've been wondering about the costs and process. I keep scanning Trade Me in hope of a decent electric bike and am yet to see one (not easy to search for mind). Some dealers ship in endless petrol bikes so maybe someone will being in electrics to sell. Has anyone seen one for sale here? I don't mean things that do less than 100kph for less than 100kms (plenty of that type of toy on trademe). Perhaps Harley will be our hero if they build something cheaper, more practice and less Harley!
Thanks! Someone in Hamilton is selling a 2015 SR for $16k if you're interested.
Hi , how much would a zero SR -S would cost roughly if I had it imported?
Shipping prices are still about the same, so whatever the cost of the bike is + 15% GST + about $3k for shipping and customs stuff. It's not cheap, but worth it!
did the person a few months ago sell their 2015 SF?😅
Ohhhh I'm not sure.. it might still be for sale. I don't think it was ever posted on trademe. Check in with Hamilton Electric Vehicles.. they might know more.
Any plan for SRF?
Nah, I test rode it and I'm not a fan.
let me know when you wanna sell your bikes!
Will do! I sold the DSR a few months ago but if I find a suitable replacement for the SR, that will go too.
You do realize under New Zealand law you are now required to change your last name to "TwoZero"
I'm ok with that!
Sooo.... Does this mean no lightning?
I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Once I can buy one of those, I'll sell my older Zero and get that.
are you not getting the strike anymore ?
I still want to, but they don't seem to be ready to sell them yet.
@@NewZeroland ilove your channel your the only person that vloges from ev btw i'm gonna try and get a strike but i'm 18 and your can't ride 600cc bike that are 90 hp in eu soo it suckss badd love you're vids please upload more and have a good one
@@NewZeroland i will be getting the 20k one but i don't think i will be able to drive it :CCCCCCCC
@@NewZeroland we need a discord for ev motoercycles so we can spreed the word i can make one if you want me to i'll be your admin
@@toxicwaste1581 check out the electric motorcycle forum, or endless sphere. People are even building their own!
Still my dream is to tour NZ on my own Ebike, so if you wanna ever sell it hit me up 😁
Definitely! If we end up getting another Energica, the Zero will have to go.
@@NewZeroland ohhhhhh well dibs 🤣
Atribues handguards? Absolute absurd price lmao thankfully a zero dealership is 4 miles from my house.
I know man.. New Zealand gets raped on import taxes. Luckily you can get used Zeros for really cheap now. Usually half the price of new ones.
Do you need a special license for left hand drive bike? (sorry dad jokes)
Bwahaha.. in all seriousness, today I found out Harleys have the turn signal switch on the right side. How weird is that?
@Michael Moretti oh wow, that's even stranger than I thought.. yet somehow makes sense.
Good lord registration is expensive. I think I pay $25 a year for my bike.
What kinda bike is it??
@@NewZeroland 2017 ninja 300. I'm in Florida.
@@DoRC ahh right. NZ is crazy expensive 😛
Hi , can you help me import a zero srs premium please
Sorry, I have no idea how it works these days, but contact Tobin at Australian Electric Motor Co and he'll sort you out. He's imported quite a few electrics to New Zealand now! tobin@australianelectricmotorco.com
I want to buyyyyy one how do I without going to US lol
Maybe contact a dealer like Hollywood Electrics and they can ship one over to you.
@@NewZeroland Thanks! I'll give it a go :)
First
First bike, first Zero!
why don't you just say you bought it used?
Used, new to me 😎
Man $440 for rego is criminal considering the government is supposed to be pushing green energy/vehicles. I pay $580ish rego a year for my bike though
At least EVs are still RUC-exempt for a few more years, so we save a little.
That’s expensive
Yep
Wow.. lots of paperwork and paper money....just the money alone shipping it was more than half the cost of of a new zero s . I hope soon zero establish dealerships worldwide
Nah, it was around $3k usd to import the bike, and I got it for a reeally good price already, so it was worth it to me. But you're right.. I wish Zero had a dealer here.
Double Zero!! Now buy a Mazda 7 and you will be zero zero seven!
Ha! Man I love Mazdas, but they need to make something electric!
$4664. dollars New Zealand . Just to get it delivered ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
My 2nd bike was a Honda CB 450 in 1972 . . . for $1050.00 US . Brand New . (Not used) . . . . . our "Money" (currency) is losing value so fast , plus our Government is adding so many 'fees' and taxes it is difficult for me to comprehend .
Yep! Makes you realise how much work it is for dealerships to get the bikes here to sell to us. The exchange rate killed me on this one. In USD it would have only been $3k.
That’s why I moved to Australia. So much easier living than New Zealand unfortunately.
@@mj_aussie_coaster_travels8310 importing vehicles to Australia is even harder lol. It's not even possible to bring in a new Zero.
NewZeroland yeah aus has some bullshit importing rules. When I first moved here I wanted to bring my Ute with me from nz. It was an Aussie assembled falcon Ute, and they wouldn’t let me import it haha.
Even bringing in cars you risk them getting rejected or held up for months if they even think it has asbestos in it.
The car scene in nz is probably the main thing thing I miss.
@@mj_aussie_coaster_travels8310 Damn that's crazy!
