This was always a late night fave of mine in the mid 70's. Essy was undeniably Sassy and Classy as well as out Right Captivating. This and Star Pilot I hold dear too my heart.
I'm 67 and this movie just seems so weird and also a reminder that I grew up around that time.
If memory serves me right and I'm almost 70 years old now ; this movie was based on the "Perry Rhodan " Sci-fi/Fantasy series I read in high school about 50 years ago 😳! While this movie 🎬 may be dated ; cheesy; and not all exciting; for its time ; it might've been the StarWars of its time ?
I don't think this has any thing to do with Rodan
@anthonyholley8795 It was supposed to be an adaptation of the first Perry Rhodan novel
@@cheritripp9470 but I'm talking about the Japanese Rhodan
@@anthonyholley8795The lead character is literally called Perry Rhodan in the movie. It's based in the first novel.
@@paulgreet196 Got it thanx
Psychedelic 60s
Groovy man, where am I
Another mushroom high
The colors are magnificent
It's 1967! Yeah, baby. Shagaddelic.
whos stopped!
NOBODY SAID THAT THEN...
That was so cheesy, I loved it 😊
Yes, extra cheese. I loved it too
Yup.
reminds me of the Italian genre of sci fi films that came out about this time...all cheesy yet thought provoking.
*The 1960s is the Golden Age of SciFi movies! This is considered a spaghetti SciFi because it featured an all Italian cast and production crew! You can see the Italian culture influence in the sexy female characters and the traditional male character roles. Extra cheesy with Parmesan and mozzarella! I watch all these movies and This one is a Gem! Thumbs Up!
with a little bit of childlike suspension of disbelief, that was way better than I expected.
Spaghetti SciFi... is hilarious. Favorite part: the bad guy floating in space with no suit- was so obviously a doll on strings I just had to laugh. Why didn't he just press the emergency transport button while he was falling down the shoot and then pop out like the Spanish Inquisition later?
How this one never made it into the MST3K or RIfftrax catalog, is beyond me. Did you see the painting behind the evil boss on his island fortress? Four men, essentially naked in single file, all touching front to back. WTH? LMAO! And that was in the 60's. The riveting action must have dazzled the censors and they did not catch it.
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!
Mission: Stardust, released in Italy in 1967,
released, here in the U.S. in 1968!
Essy Persson is so stunning in this
Essy Persson was truly one of the essiest people. That confident condescending stare was perfected.
Watchable 60s sci-fi. Good music. Great sound effects.
Watchable?!!! My eyes are still hurting after a few minutes 😳😵😵💫 Talk about bad resolution 😱
love those days-people were exciting, free-unlike today, people are full of hate
Yup. Working our way back to the cave.
back then, ppl were gullible. today we mostly realize we are constantly lied to. disrespect only begets more disrespect. its cyclical...
Simpler times, when you could ignore what your government was doing with a clear conscience. Lived through them and survived.
@petergaskin1811
I think that's how the internet has changed our perception. Humanity has more to take in, and that sparks our emotions and opinions. When we had less to think about, we felt less. Now we're bombarded with BS. Have to evolve past this eventually.
Let's date 🌹 I love that era
Surprisingly good audio.
This movie is a perfect example of why Italians really don't know how to make Sci-Fi movies although Barbarella was a lot of fun😅
One year after Star Trek, one year before 2001: A Space Odyssey.
2000: Space Idiocy
space odyssey held the hope of being something intelligent.
kubrik clarified it a few years ago, and its so lame 😂
and here we are in 2025 with putin banging his stick
lightweight D-K’er.
This is more your speed?
Essy Person is quite the quintessential space babe. 💗
Neat spaesuits, no oxygen tanks.
Said oxygen pills or some such.
Those are space suits just pajamas style. And the oxygen supply was obviously😊 integrated
Recirculating oxygen
The exhaled cO2 is catalyzed into O2 and a carbon diamond crystal
“Restore your respiration pill”
I THINK OF ALL THE OLD MOVIES I SEEN IN MY LIFE THIS ONE HAS THE BEST FEMALE ALIEN SORA-- Essy Persson WAS REALLY SEXY AND DID A GOOD JOB
They should make a new Perry Rhodan film - even a whole series!
It would have to be done in Germany, and by a German movie studio.
@@Neville60001 There ist a (very) long running fan project "Der Einsame der Zeit" , but till today, no major studio or production company is interessed in that stuff. I think it´s a problem of a long lasting series of novels (3310 issues).
Thanks!
There's always a Sector 9 and a guy shadow boxing in the back ground in these films.
Can’t get to sector 8 or 10 without it 🤷🏻♀️😂
Loved it!
The Mads and Pearl may be Evil, but they did spare Joel and Mike from watching this, as they feared both would be driven totally insane, thus ending the experiment. This film however negatively effective TVs Frank, and was partially responsible for his eventual, sad departure.
The beginning had me thinking this was Operation Double 007
It is made after a famous german science fiction book series called PERRY RHODAN read it it is better than the movie ... Mission Stardust was the first story.
Can't get over how incredible Essy looks. That long Swedish hair... wig.
For those wondering, yes, it was ridiculed when it came out. I saw it when it came out, we laughed the entire time.
Destined for midnight TV.
Great sound!
good ol' Paul Frees
Quick Robin, to the Supositorymobile!
19:26 Hi Flora. Can I see your fauna? Nice outfit by the way.
Perry Rhoda that sounds familiar
Excellent flic. Blond girls, macho men, ball-shaped UAP's. Just like we want America now.
Epic!
Essy was the only reason I watched this…
This movie had such a low budget they had to sell the doors off the LandRovers.
60s women sensual beauty well on display here. Essy is Exotic and a good actor. Cheesy, but they did well in their time.
Is this a true story?
Yes it is!
For some reason, SF was not taken seriously in Europe in the 60s.
Packing up the bong
The sound affects dominate the Movie 😂
❤❤❤
24:52
for men of culture
That was it? Thumbs down. Needed more 'culture'
@@stevepichowsky2223 ikr I had high hopes too. ah well.
Now that’s a space suit! There at least two reasons to prove it. That screen helped her a lot….lol
Nice attempt with the thumbnail to fool people into thinking this is a Gerry Anderson production. Yes im a fool.
1967 see how those sheets were just regular sheets and no harnesses and they all looked real real calm heads didn't go back I was born in 69 so wow
The first few minutes seems like the David Bowie tune, a space oddity.
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on 😂
This is not science fiction; this is naive feminism.
Sometimes, films are so bad they are funny. Sometimes they are just bad.
She was as advanced compared to the astronauts as they were to the amoeba.
Space x landing on the moon will be similar but not so corny.
elon hasnt thought of the moon, theres no arnie movie about it :p
Thus The Stardust Casino was born!!
5:29 was that background sound taken straight from star trek?
PERRY RHODAN LIVES!.
"he runs a hospital in mombasa east africa" random as 😂
The only thing good after decades is the super model turned actress!
I'm scared
Good B movie with some beautiful babes kept me watching
ELON MUSK .... must have watched this before we build starship 😅
This movie is not talked about in the perry rhodan fandom, it never happened. 😂 It is light years away from the "novels", the Arkonid ship had 800m in diameter, and they fought the entire planet to keep the superpowers from taking arkonid technology for themselves, they established the "third power", formed the mutant corps, fought of the nuclear powers, alien invaders, and found the artificial world of immortality "wanderer" where "IT" granted them (the arkonids excluded) relativ immortality. Thats just a fraction of the events in the first 50 pulp novels before PR met Atlan. PR has been published since 1961, over 3300 pulp novels, of the main series were printed so far, a new pulp novel every week.
the arkanoid ship? 😊
@luminousfractal420 No, the Arkonids(Arkoniden in the german version) are a humanoid race with white hair, and plates instead of ribs. They descended from the Lemurians, like the humans in PR. They established a large empire, which had fallen into decline, and was ruled by an AI when PR met them for the first time.
You got some Stardust, man?
It's so bad, its good. The blonde alien is nice though.
Are you kidding? The astronauts are sitting in folding chairs!
good anti gravity system 😂
Heavier than lithium.
That's about everything.
If only someone turned Perry Rhodan books into a huge project like the Game of Thrones.
This movie is, sorry to say it, pathetic. It is better than nothing, yet still pathetic.
🙂
Nice set of playtex gloves Lol
1967
Nooooo! Why did they have make the nurse phase out....She was hot.
didnt they use that alien space ship in an episode of Space 1999?
I can see sexism abounds in 60s space movies, no wonder Kirk was Kirk in Trek LOL
this is why we had to wait for the internet. dp's gallore.
I can smell the Limburger from here!
better graphics than apollo. and cheaper than kubrick.
They took oxygen pills or shots at the beginning of the movie
Lipsynch leaves something to be desired
Is the dolly bird worth the annoying soundtrack? Only you can decide..................................
Far out...
far out
Typical, weird, annoying Italian sound effects. 😣

15:28 Fake.
In the 1960's there was a cancer vaccine...
This is the worst so-called "movie". Absolutely horrible script, direction, acting, editing, effects, music, and is an outright assault on the eyes. 14 minutes in and goodbye...
Mystery SciFi theater stuff
This is exactly why LSD was such a bad thing to take.
@ Not even exactly good enough for them either. But, your point is well taken. lol
@ I am afraid that this was more than just that, lol.
Im 6.49 in and still awe struck …wish me luck -half naked men doing oily body moves in the background…very odd…just passing the moon ‘what does the computer say Lance?
Lance! Oi vey
Dreadful
What a trash movie!
You got some Stardust, man?
