Seeing how much Connie loved singing and hearing she lost her voice breaks my heart. All talented ladies! Also enough going on about Simona's accent. Musicals get done in countries besides the UK, maybe she's not this productions Maria but there were other things to chat about.
Watching this from a 2023 perspective, im cringing HARD at SO MANY sexist horrible comments. These poor girls are so talented and some of the remarks are horrible.
Can't believe it's been 14 years since this show first aired! I was 15 years old when I first saw it! Anyway, from an older perspective, I thought I would give my comments. Belinda - Wow, what a performance! Complete contrast to last week and it's always nice to try songs outside of your usual genre, and she cracked it! I honestly can't believe she went home after this! Ridiculous. Also loved seeing everyone's reactions to this "new" side of her! :D Abi - A big improvement from last week, love a good ballad. Loved her acting here too. Meliz - Can't believe Zoe didn't like this! I actually really liked it, a very emotional performance. She shouldn't have been in the bottom two either. Simona - This song did nothing for her. They're supposed to be taming her accent, when it clearly shows here, with the word "Girl" sounding more like "Gull". Poort song choice. Zoe being like "I didn't like the song" - umm, didn't you pick all their songs? Also Simona came off as a bit rude when John said he wasn't understanding what Meliz was singing either and she was like "I agree". This performance should have got her in the bottom two, and I'm still gobsmacked it didn't. Helena - Perfect song choice, completely the opposite of last week's poppy Charlotte Church song. Maybe a bit over-emotional, but isn't that the whole point, to show acting/emotion during this kind of song, and in this kind of competition? Really loved this performance, as with Abi ballads suit her voice really well. Connie - Didn't get the point of that male dancer, but I loved the energy she put into this! Admittedly not the first thing that would scream Maria to me, but I still really enjoyed it and loved seeing her energetic side, you could tell she was having fun with it. Leanne - Good song choice, and she did well, but I still think she's too young. I'm with Connie on the fact that she should be Liesl - she still looks and sounds young enough to pass as a teenager. She'd look more like the Von Trapps' big sister than stepmother. Siobhan - Can't say I've heard of this song before, but I have to say this is one of the most emotional performances so far! Loved her acting, she really gave it her all! Well done! Aoife - The only song performed tonight that was actually from a musical, so obviously there's got to be acting involved! Great acting, amazing American accent too! Loved hearing the slightly more rough tone to her voice, another performance that's completely different to the previous week.
No I don't think so. I think it's coming from being sick of his creepy and egotistical behaviour behind the scenes too, you can see she doesn't like him.
@@vivalabeauty33 there just aren't many pop songs in a high register because most pop singers don't have the technique to hit high notes. Half these girls don't have the chops to do that kind of thing to, because they cast more pop singers than music theatre singers. Even the girl they cast lost her voice due to bad technique

Samona isn't Maria, its simple as that. She just isn't Maria and I understand why. She's not what they are looking for, its been obvious since the very start, so WHY are they keeping her on?? Its just cruel.
the TV producers need to make "interesting" TV. This is a reality show before it is a casting call. In a normal casting call that is not for a TV show she would have been cut way earlier, given she is obviously not suitable. But her accent is a plot device that creates some drama.

All this pants about her accent.. have you ever tried learning a different language???? Do you know how HARD it is to not only say all your sentences perfectly formed but speak with a perfect dialect.
I don't think they're belittling the fact that she's speaking her second language and is from another country. But that is makes her unsuitable for the part
As much as I believe David is hugely informed and talented in his field of work, he's attitude really creeps me out.
I fucking love grahems looks of disgust XF

Am I the only one who thinks David is proper creepy? Meeting him in a casting session would be horrible.
He's a hella sexist bigoted pig. Glad he got called out on some of it during the show. And that it's now out there on the internet in this day in age.
@@SuAva straight racist also
He seems like a sleazy creep! Esp to poor Siobhan.
Meliz is now a pro chef!
She look the same. Saw this cookery still on IG and when I looked at her closely, I realised who she was. Her food looks amazing.

Especially David Ian's comments!
Zoe called David pretty-ish. What's the difference?
fun, interesting show :)

Seriously???
The need to leave chavon alone. That poor girl is be so unconfortable
I don't know how Barrowman kept defending Simona when he picked on Jessie Buckley any time he heard a trace of Irish brogue.
Abi is great
That tone was lovely 💕

I think simona is beautiful
She's gorgeous.
they're really milking the gay jokes with graham and john lmao

Why do so many of them sing low registered belty songs each time? Shouldn’t they be showing their classical soprano abilities?
I agree but I think it’s because of the public vote... the majority of the public would rather listen to pop music than operatic style music
@@user-wj9mt2bg2p I feel you, that makes sense. I think they could still have chosen some more pop songs in a higher register or less belt-y.

you've said a whole lot of words without actually sharing anything tangible. Why is it "simple as that" that Simona isn't Maria?
Barrowman's defence for was weird espcially considering how he treated Jessie Buckley.
