Acrylic Flow Art on Terracotta Pots - Completed Projects

- These two pots have both been varnished using a spray on acrylic & oil paint varnish that I'm trialling at the moment. I love the finish it's given them, beautiful and glossy, and no streaks. Even better, it dries super quickly.
I've previously posted a video showing how the second pot was done if you're interested in watching the actual pour.
Whilst at the time my preference was for the partially uncovered pot, now that they're both varnished, I'm leaning towards the completely covered one. What do you think? Please leave your comments below.

Thanks for watching!
Do you seal your pot before you pour. Very nice.
Jean Murdock hi, I seal the internal with a terracotta pot sealer which I purchase from a hardware store, however, I allow the paint and varnish to seal the external of the pots. If you use a water resistant varnish this won't be a problem and using pva in the paint also reduces the problem of any water penetration.
Did you clean and varnish just like you would a canvas?
I've never been one to clean a canvas even though I use silicone. It may be due to the fact I use a spray silicone rather than drops? I also use a spray varnish instead of paint on. Cheers, Kalena
Kalena Flows what type of spray varnish are you using?
I've taken to using dulux indoor outdoor clear gloss. Is a great varnish (nope, not sponsored! It would be nice tho!)
Kalena Flows is deluxe the brand name?
Yes, dulux. I'm not sure how international they are tho. If you check in your paint shop they will have indoor outdoor clear gloss or something similar, it isn't called varnish but does the same thing. Good luck!
