Shit like this is not supposed to be funny, just as issues like Marital rapes and death penalty are not, if you expect a comedian to stick with Kapil-esque jokes. The beauty of this kind of humor is that it is not based off something make believe, but brings it down to how utterly ridiculous this world is. How bad have we made it to be, that despite obvious solutions and history lessons, we still live blinded. People sit down, hear him say what he did and either deny it or ask for a sugar coat. I do not see why it is needed, I am sorry to say, and that this raw, 'in your face' thrust is probably the only way for us to see how far south things already are without providing us the shock value of actual pictures of refugees fleeing all cooped up in countries that may or my not welcome them.

I did the "hand gesture" for an entire month of shows in Melbourne Australia. They loved it. Plan to do it in America again next year. Western audiences are a lot more tolerant and understanding when it comes to the performing arts and offence is the last thing they will outsource to India :)
