- #TheAverageAngler. In this video I try and simplify must have baits for the beginner or weekend angler. As you advance you can always expand. These are all proven baits that you can fish in any part of the country. Below you will find a long list of many options of the baits I talked about in the video, along with the accessories needed to fish them. All of these baits can be fished with a MH baitcasting set up and a spinning rod for finesse stuff.

Thanks for the videos.
Stick worms for wacky rigs, jigs with some trailers to mimick crayfish or bluegill, Squarebill Crankbaits, Poppers, some Zoom trick/finesse worms with a shakey head. Thats what I get most of my bites on anyway. I got alot of stuff.
Speed Trap, Brass N Glass......giving away all of us old guys secrets....lol Good stuff!
The Bill Lewis 4x4 squarebill crankbait is my favorite it doesn’t get hung up hardly ever!!
That’s one I’ve been meaning to try out. I think MDJ was involved in the design of that and he is from the area I live
Not even for beginners.. those r just the baits u take when u don't wanna get skunked 😂😂😂
Yes they are.
i’d add a good ol inline spinner not no cheap brand they often times don’t even spin but get you a good blue fox or a rooster tail good ol chuck n wind 100% reaction bait i have too much love for inlines they feel so forgotten on youtube!
They were always trout lures for me. I have never used them for bass and I don’t really know why.
Fabulous list!! You left out the ultimate OG..Yamamoto senko 😂
I sure did. It seems I forget the obvious now and then. It was purely an oversight.
@TheAverageAngler all good! Easy to do! You did better than me! I'd have been spun out
@@beavisbrowne3497 sometimes it’s tough trying to limit choices.
Shawn, don’t tell us not to spend all our money and dive down the rabbit hole! Ha ha. As usual, great content. Thanks for your efforts.
@gregsmith1741 lol. Thank you.
I like your list. Mine would differ somewhat. For plastics I’d go with a senko-style bait (take your pick), a baby brush hog, a fluke, and a zoom finesse worm for the straight tail worm. Topwater I’d go with a popper. Square bill and spinner bait for sure too. Take your pick on those as well.
It’s funny that you mention the Senko. I just realized I left it off and I shouldn’t have. 😂
@@TheAverageAngler I thought that you might have just forgotten to put it on there. The senko and its imitators have probably caught more bass in the last 30 years than any other lure.
@@kevinhenderson6485 yep I forgot. It’s what happens at my age. Them a few hours later that light bulb turns on. lol
i’m feeling that old school i’m gonna try to find some glass beads that sounds cool
The beads are readily available. Don’t use tungsten as it will shatter the beads and cut your line. Gotta find some brass or lead weights.
@@TheAverageAnglerohh great to know i’ve got nothin but tungsten also thanks for the detail of your list going to specific brands is very important
