Thank you for taking the time to show EXACT rigging/positioning or the trailer. That is very helpful. Most people do not show or get into that kind of detail when they make a video.
This worked up at Clear Lake last week...20lbs+ four days straight with fish up to 6.58 on the chatterbait. Also got on a great deep crank bite with the biggest going 7.4lbs
I enjoyed this video a lot! You have that “something “ in your videos that gets me fired up about a technique. Great job! Chatter bait fishing is a weak point for me.
I could help to notice your DEPS cover scats, OSP dolive beavers, and jackall baits. It's kind of off topic but if you ever used the Jackall archleon craws? I live in Dallas and I do so good with those even though they primarily made for pitching into cheese and heavy cover. I catch them on rip rap all the time with a ewg jig head.
I just came across this video and am intrigued with your tips. I can't wait to try them out. TY for the tips, most people do not share "their secret weapon"..you just gained me as a subscriber... What were the cheaper version Chatterbaits you said you used during practice? I tend to lose lots of them and anything I can do to lessen my load for cash paid out, is great. TY again. Can't wait for future videos.
@@heidi2597 thank you for the kind words. The cheaper chatterbaits I get from Ali Express. One is called Jacky Hammer and the other is Noeby Custom Bladed Jig. I’ve probably bought 50 of them since I found them. They are typically about 3.25 a piece.
Man, you got me looking at iRod and considering switching from all Powell. I’ve been looking at the lineups, in particular the Bobby’s frog rods which I don’t think have equivalents from other mfrs.
@@kurtrindgen4708 about half of my rods were Powell. Bobby’s rods are pretty nice and versatile as well. There are actually some new punch rods coming that Bobby designed as well. I’m definitely having a lot of fun with them.
@@TheAverageAngler welcome, im no pro, but have a very very hansome set of gear 54 reels, lowest quality is curado, have all major brands Shimano Diawa Lews and two high end abu i cant figure out. Loomis, powell cashion st croix. But your rods got my attn. 🫣
@Woefman911 I have all those brands except Cashion. I really like the Irods. They are light and tough and very versatile rods. Not to mention they are priced right and great support from the owner Matt.
So, rip the chatterbait in the Fall? I used it all Summer and had good success slow rolling it. I used the Mini Max by ZMan in Bluegill color, 3/8 ounce with a Hog Farmer Spunk Shad in a Goby color. My water is pretty clear and doesn't get much deeper than 6-8 feet. I owned an Evo for 5 casts in 1/2 ounce. I let it sink, snapped it off the bottom and came back with just line. Speaking of line, what are your thoughts on straight braid for chatterbait fishing since the bait is basically in motion all of the time? Try the Strike King Rage Menace Twin Tailed Grub, pared down a little in the Moon Juice color. Those tails mimic a bluegill to a T!
It’s more of a twitch. This is why I suggest visually trying it where you can see it. This will give you and idea of what you need to do. The bait will dart a foot or so one way or the other. The 1/2 oz is because I am feeling it fast and fishing it about 2-2.5 ft under the surface. Don’t want to give the fish time to inspect the bait, we want to force them to react or it’s gone. I don’t like straight braid for this method, I use it around heavier grass. Being fall, the grass is typically dying off.
Thanx AA. Like the mini max this time of year. Trailer wise I use the small Menace grub in white or glacier. I run the paddle tails vertical, works and looks great. When I run the Jackhammer or Jackyhammer, I run the standard Menace grub same colors.
I like to chatterbaits you like. But man the Bass pro shops chatterbomb is something else. It's really good. They affiliated themselves with z-man and it's really good. It is a lot of sporadic action. I like it a lot. It's actually all I've been fishing with basically except for the big guys I use that cuz got a weed guard.
Again. Your videos are priceless. Thank you so very much for contributing to our punishments!!!!!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Thanx AA, Really like that mini max in the fall. My trailer of choice is the small SK Menace grub (vertical).

I’m heading up there in a couple weeks and very excited about it.
Thank you for the video! Never thought a grub can be used as a trailer. I was always using any chatterbait with Keitech swing fat.
giving up the "juke". lol love the chatter bait in the fall, they really slam it during this time of year
Thanks for the Chatterbait tips this will help me out using it like the way you are saying to use it 👍🏻

I have not used them. There are so many great baits on the market. I will have to give them a try. Thanks for watching.
Great tips, I’m going try it this weekend for sure. Thanks Average Angler.

Jackhammer for me all day any day, expensive but Man totally Werth it. 😎
I hear ya. I have a bunch and at times nothing works like a jackhammer. However there is lots of times the others work just fine.
The jackhammer is great but the Evo is honestly just as good (and arguably may even be better because it’s about $5 cheaper)
Fishing them on the bottom or up in the water column
Fall I want to fish them up in the column.

I just caught the new tungsten Elite Evo chatterbaits on sale at Discount Tackle for $11.99 so I bought some
I went and ordered some things from them after you mentioned it. Not sure I will make a change to tungsten
Time will tell.

Best 5 went for 25.4 on a white 1/2oz evo with a chatterspike Monday. Ironic I see this video 2 days later.
I usually fish it with the tail up. Maybe that's why I don't catch shit. Haha. 😂

I have not seen them. I’ve been meaning to stop by our local Bass Pro. I’ll check them out. Problem is I currently have over 150 chatterbaits.
Thanks I found some good Rods and baits! Anxious to get them and try them!👍🥸🙏
Awesome. What did you get?
