Great video. Awesome looking technique for the Rage Swimmer. Thank you KVD for everything you have done and will continue to do for the fishing community
Thanks great video and tip . Four old guys watch videos and cast them to big 75 in TV in my barn . That's goes back to you can always teach an old dog a new trick . All of us do fishing trips in the spring then fish Lake Erie the rest of the year . It's great to be retired
Rage Swimmers have been an instrumental part of my arsenal for four years now. I absolutely love them and they are very durable. Matching the color to the conditions and bait is a key to this bait. The versatility is amazing. You can fish them right along the bottom or like a jerk bait. And they drag a lot of water thanks to the ribs as trailers on say a Thunder Cricket or Spinner Baits.
Gonna get that Lew's KVD reel this year! Thanks Legend, for all that you did and mean to the sport I so love. Enjoy retirement, you deserve it. On a serious note, is Mike "Ike" Iaconelli in the community? You two are truly my 2 "old school" idols. Hope to see more great videos like this, am definitely going to try this rigging.
Hi Kevin I thought you were gonna talk about "real swim baits". Like 14 inch 3 pound baits. Like Deps 250 and massive Dockrat jointed baits. Lol. I didnt know you grew up in Tennessee, I thought you were a michigan guy. I live in East Tennessee and only fish for stripers now. All I throw is huge swim and glide baits. Its a entire new world of fishing opened up recently. There are some massive stripers here and I'm glad I'm in on it. I recently saw one of your signature rods a heavy action KVD CC6. Im gonna go Grab it this weekend. It's a beauty for big swim and glide baits. I'll use it with my Daiwa prorex 400.... tryin for another 50lb Striper.....Great video.
Clear shallow rivers, gin clear in winter or spring months, definitely I've found it hard to crack that code. And Ott is someone who would understand this situation better than most (I've found it easier to angle later into summer months when some colour or opacity, or tint returns to water). So it's key I think to remind oneself about that, in clear, cold early season water in rivers, finding a bait rigging that is minimal and subtle could be a key. And bites being hard earned then, a decent connection to a fish is no bad thing. A decent sharp treble where much of that hook is exposed and unimpeded, gives one a shot at landing some fish.
I have won several tournaments many seconds and top tens on the tips you provide. Of course, I have to my homework on the water. But man I can’t wait to see you on the elites in the next year or two. I am strike king and lews all day. GreT video. #thegoat
I miss slingin' spinnerbaits around Lake Templene but it's just to cold and expensive to live in Michigan. 5 years now near Lake Eufaula (ROLL TIDE) and it's gonna take 5 more to begin figuring this place out...
Kevin, Lews got 5 diffrent hyper mags. Please list all your tackle, including which of your Lews rod you use for technique you are fishing. Love your rods, only Ines I buy now. Best rod for price, in all of the fishing wrold! I've had 3 of them for 2 years now, never had 1 issue with them. This year I will buy 3 to convert my open face reels. Your the GOAT, ty, for opening up your expertise in bass fishing, to us weekend, working joes!!!!
Hey, Kevin, how have you been?I'm glad you're not retiring.I have followed you since I was young.Which one of the ray swimmers is best to use in march and april?
I’m a 50 something year old that has been fishing for years but never had anyone teach me anything about fishing so forgive me if this is a stupid question. You talked about the smallmouth and spots. Is this something that would work here in north west Louisiana for large mouth? Thanks for taking the time it took to make this and share your knowledge.
You bet this will work for large mouths too! I'm pretty sure he was just pointing out that smallies and spots tend to aim at the head so he keeps the hook more forward for those.
Kevin, I hope to meet you someday. Question: Do you ever put the treble hook on top of the swimbait to allow you to fish over shallow weeds better? If so, does the hookup ratio change?
Yes it's the same rivets for sheet metal you can pick up at Lowes or any hardware. I just size the rivet a little larger than the line I am using. I have even used an old ink pen, the part the ink was in and super glued it in place.
That was confusing! Why dont you show the whole rigging process ? Why do ya need a rivet if your threading the line through ? Are you using a bobber stop ? Where did the lead wrap go ? Thanks for confusing me kev ? 😅😅
I think I am going to enjoy your retirement Kevin !! So happy to have you sharing this priceless information with us.
a Coffee Stirrer works well too there is less line friction inside the swimbait. Great Video
The innovation on making certain rigs is really what I love about bass fishing. Thanks for the video!
Hush! The master is teaching.

Absolutely great to see KVD still in the industry and loved the tip. I'll definitely be using it in TX
KVD you are the master of Bass fishing. Huge fan thank you bud 🎣👍🏻
I'm really liking the in depth time you have for us now . Love some KVD KNOWLEDGE
That's awesome way of rigging up a swimbait, like it better than a single hook, way cheaper than than a magdraft! 👍

Excellent rigging method! Never thought to use rivets, but that's a great idea!
Will definitely be trying this. Thank you KVD! 💯🎣
Thanks kvd for all you do and that great info I'm a big big fan of strike King and I love throwing those rage swim baits will try 💪🏽
Really enjoying the content your sending out

I am a huge fan of the KVD rods, and my favorite rod for spinning gear with a blade bait.
Awesome video! Can’t wait to run this in the spring!
Thanks Kevin, that was truley informative.

great stuff.👍👍👍👍👍
this is a great way to rig things, I've been using it from a video you posted a long time ago.
The goat 🐐
G.O.A.T

War eagle! 🫡
Off subject, can we come out with a all black rage tail curl that would be awesome
Just dip it in the black dip n glow
Who needs those $20 magdrafts when you got the goat teaching you with SK 6”Rage swimmers!!!
people who want bigger bites in the bigger size magdrafts that have more drawing power and that require dedicated swimbait gear.
Awesome video. Thanks!

❤❤❤ I love the knowledge
Thank you!
Hey, Kevin, how have you been?I'm glad you're not retiring.I have followed you since I was young.Which one of the ray swimmers is best to use in march and april?
I have a b f l in the phoenix series April six on smith mountain lake which would be the best color of those rage swim bates to use
Does this fall level instead of straight down? Or would running the treble close to the middle of the bait make it fall more level?

Yes sir it works on largemouth as well. It works on anything that will eat the bait you are fishing with.

👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Where do you get the rivets? Is it just like a normal sheet metal rivet that you take shank out of?
Yes it's the same rivets for sheet metal you can pick up at Lowes or any hardware. I just size the rivet a little larger than the line I am using. I have even used an old ink pen, the part the ink was in and super glued it in place.
A 7 inch rage swimmer would be so sick! Lmaoo just a big beefy paddle tail
What a great idea. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your retirement by the way! 😁

👍🇦🇹😀👌
Google a self threading sewing needle. You don’t have to tie them on.
You could do all of what Kevin says, or just buy a pack of 6th Sense line through swimbait jig heads.
Need too come out of retirement
How many times did you jam that cut off hook in your finger while threading that line through?
