Not a bad way to have an EAS scenario where the audience isn't sure exactly what's happening. I'm not a film expert, so I can't say what exactly was effective or not, but I liked the mystery.
I kept watching and all of the alert sounds were too loud, I don't know why they didn't make up a new sound, considering if someone was watching this in public then it would probably alert people if they suddenly heard the alert sound from their phone.
Moral of the story: Just... Stop disintegrating.
