I Am Pilgrim has been on my thriller radar a while, but I think I'll try this first from Hayes because I love sci-fi too, and you made this sound really good!
Just to throw a rec back at you, The Border by Robert McCammon is such an awesome sci-fi thriller, and blends fantasy elements in as well!

A real let down after I am Pilgrim. The first 400 pages were great....thenlast 250 pages were beyond crazy.
I think a lot of people are feeling like this, which is fair. It’s not really a spy thriller anymore and becomes post apocalyptic science fiction 😂 worked for me, maybe because I was warned, but definitely a bold choice

glad you liked it too-I was very disappointed with other people's reviews and hope it's not just dismissed...met him too right before I am Pilgrim was released and he told me that it was going to be a trilogy...guess he scrubbed that and wrote Locust instead
Yeah I fully expected opinions to be divided but so far I’m seeing more people that didn’t like where the story went then the other way around. Might have something to do with how it’s marketed (aka as a spy thriller)? He mentioned at the interview that he is still working on a sequel to I am Pilgrim, so fingers crossed🤞🏻

It was like falling asleep in front of the telly watching Bourne then waking up to find someone had changed the channel to Starship Troopers!

Well written thriller. Interesting plot. The first 3 parts of this 4 part novel were quite good. Part 4... the shark done got jumped. Just awful. Unbelievable coincidences and the time travel part was totally out of place. Skip this book.
I actually liked where he takes it in part four, although I totally see why someone wouldn’t! Thanks for the comment :)
