      too bad Nemesis happened... that being said, Nemesis takes place after Voyager arrived home (after all Janeway makes a cameo appearance!), so Data might very well have had an opportunity to meet the EMH. We'll never know..

    Easily one of the funniest Star Trek moments ever. I love how the humor keeps building throughout the scene, even when it cuts away from The Doctor to Chakotay and Harry. Learning that Janeway ordered Chakotay to take the ship in yellow alert thirty minutes into The Doctor's presentation is just so hilarious.

    • @greencello599
      @greencello599 Рік тому +7

      Janeway may be the captain, but she had no grounds for the Yellow Alert after half an hour. She didn't give Chakotay, Kim, or the others who experienced the Doctor's holographic image essay the same courtesy. If the first round of crew members suffered through 2 hours of that, EVERYONE must suffer the exact same amount of time.

    This is why no future will ever be perfect. This guy has a presentation to make, and utilizes the holodeck, gear any number of people alive now would literally give a finger or toe to make ubiquitous, in a way mirroring tech from the 1940's.
    I mean...really Doc. I get that your a hologram, but I KNOW that doesn't mean you lack creativity. We've all SEEN that little fantasy of yours on the bridge. Well done, btw.
    Now try applying that imagination to your next presentation.
    You know. The next time you, as the only pers...being....on the ship that can do more medically than CPR or trigger a hypostim, beams down to a planet (Do holograms "beam"?) and retrieve something. Which happens all the time in the general duties of an EMH. At least on Voyager.

    • @Xylarxcode
      @Xylarxcode 3 роки тому

      No, holograms do not beam. They need holo emitters to function. If those are present, you can just activate the hologram program at that location. If they are not, then that hologram cannot go there. Doc is an exception because he's got the mobile emitter, which allows him to go anywhere and that thing CAN be beamed over.

    I also never figured out why Data had so much trouble achieving sentience, yet apart from some social inadequacies, which seemed to be working as designed judging from his creator, the Doctor seemed to have no problems at all and he wasn't even designed for it unlike Data

      +equenoxe86 Well, thus far, I'm having some hope for the announced 2017 Star Trek TV show, which among others has Bryan Fuller (writer of such episodes as Empok Nor, Flesh and Blood, Workforce...) and Rod Roddenberry among it's production staff.
