Very interesting social experiment. Personally the thing that would make be more distrustful is that there are some scammers, at least in my country, and they start with something simple like a handshake just to lure you into something and it can be very annoying.
It couldn't be easier to turn around and walk away when the scam has become apparent. Yesterday I went to the store, there was a homeless man standing next to me, I thought he would ask for money, but he just wanted to eat. And when he got what he wanted, he was shocked that they took him something to eat. Don't turn your back on people if you don't know their intentions. Put yourself in their shoes.

This was one of the biggest culture shocks I had on getting to the US from Nigeria. In Nigeria, most times when you meet someone for the first time each day, you shake hands, or make some kind of physical interaction to set you up to nicely relate with each other. On getting here, I get to go for weeks without getting a great handshake.

In the UK, leaving without saying goodbye is considered the norm, but in other countries it's the opposite.

No se trata de países pues cada persona tiene nombre y apellidos y creo que mucha gente y da igual de donde sean se quedarían un poco extrañados si alguien viene hacia ti con el brazo extendido. Por otro lado me parece bien el mensaje de que todos debemos ser más amables.

In the UK, leaving without saying goodbye is considered the norm, but in other countries it's the opposite.

Nothing crazy about being put off by a stranger who's visibly trying to randomly shake hands with every person they come across. This would appear as mental illness to me if I saw it.
