If you put the ginger beer and lime juice first, then float the dark rum on top, it looks like a storm cloud. We do it that way where I work, we also put it in a short glass. I love the new set up, thank you for the content, you are awesome!

I made it same way in pint glass

*As noted by others, I should of poured the ginger beer over the ice first, then floated the rum to get the cool looming cloud effect with layering. Although, that can be a touch tricky at first if you're a newby and not quite sure how much room to leave for the rum. The top 1/2-1/3~ish of the glass is probably suffice for the 2 oz of rum depending it's size. If you need to add more ginger and want to maintain the layer effect do so very slowly down the side of the glass so as no to disturb the layers. Thanks to those who commented!

Just found you today and watched a couple of the older videos. New camera looks sharper. The POV shot of the drink looks crisp too. More of that for sure.

The quality difference wasn't exactly outstanding, but the additional shots that you took of the pours made the production quality of the video as well as video quality look really good.

This cocktail should be called the "Dank and Streamy."

hey Jason nice new camera man im loving everything your doin. unfortunately with all your advice im having the hardest time finding a job. every place ive applied all tell me they want someone with experience and no matter how well i bullshit and sell myself its the same outcome. ive applied at about 20 places so far and im doing more in the very near future. any other tips you got for an aspiring bartender with no experience.

Go the private party bartender route...give yourself a job. This is essentially making money AND gaining experience from the get go (episode here: ua-cam.com/video/vCqAyChzjtE/v-deo.html). The other thing is be willing to start in ANY other positions. Most bartenders don't start as bartenders, they are promoted from other jobs they had in the establishment (episode here: ua-cam.com/video/qrr2iQmc_a4/v-deo.html)

I know it doesn't matter cause it will taste the same once it's all mixed up anyway , but I think the usual dark rhum floating on top of the ginger beer effect ,make the drink look much more cool 😀 to bad you didn't do it 😝

Yeah, it's all good, and will be very subtle since the old camera was HD too. It's the other capabilities (slo mo, etc) that I really upgraded for. Thanks for the feedback!

at the risk of sounding stupid, could i use ginger ale instead of the ginger beer??

Bundaberg is WAYYYYY too sweet for me in this drink. Tried it once and was disapointed. Goslings is key imo. Ginger beer needs to be spicy. can be homemade spicy ginger syrup + soda if you don't have Ginger Beer.
Also it looks "Dark and Stormy" if you float the Rum on top and put the Ginger Beer in first. In my opinion for visuals that is the whole point of the drink.

So can we call it a Bermudian Mule so we don't get sued?

Tried alot of rums for this drink but, yes Goshlings black seal is still by far the best to me. Rum, ginger beer "quality" stir, drink. Lime or lemon murders the drink for me
