I tested these for a month and didn't experience any rattling in mine. Not to say they were silent, but everything sounded as it should. I would love to try out the DK6 once they have VR motion compensation in their software. Sadly the engine vibration wasn't available yet when I tested it, would have really loved to experience it.
If they could create a Simhub plugin, that would allow you to create per-car profiles, as Simhub lets you assign values to hardware for each individual car in each game.
Hearing Tom talk about the vibration travelling through the floor, a possible solution is a piece of MDF or fibre board laid over say a couple of exercise mats might deaden the vibration through to floor and transmitting it through to other rooms below
I agree with Tom, I have the DK2 and it's on the second level of my home. On higher settings my whole bedroom shakes, this is a powerful system, but it's great fun, also helpful in learning how the car is responding on track. The guys at Sigma are dedicated and extremely care about your experience with their system and the personal assistance you get makes it more valuable than any other systems.
Thanks for another great review! Couple things I noticed that I thought I'd comment on. First, for *anyone who doesn't have a free Ethernet port,* rather than purchasing a USB→Ethernet adapter for about the same money ($15-20USD) you can pickup a PCIE Ethernet card. Which, assuming the computer is at least PCIE 3.0 (can't imagine _any_ sim titles running on anything older, not to mention if you can afford this kit... ;) ) you can use a 1x slot (could even get away with a dual Gigabit Ethernet port card and be okay.) If USB must be used for whatever reason, I'd highly recommend making sure it's USB 3minimum. While I doubt this system will nearing gigabit speeds, still better to have the head room (USB 2 is less then half Gigabit speed.) Secondly, the 'transformer' on the PCB inside the control box, is actually an AC/DC converter. Taking the mains voltage input, and outputting 5VDC 2A. There will likely be a small transformer inside but if that was all it was you'd still have an AC output and that microcontroller it's powering would not be a happy camper😉 Not super important, but thought I'd mention it. Anyways thanks again for another great video, Michael
@@David-qu3ro yeah very well could work! As long as it doesn't confuse the software. It shouldn't since you're just pointing to it with an IP address, however, stranger things have happened when things are done in a way unplanned for by the software/firmware.
PCI-E 1.0 1x is enough for 2Gb speeds FYI. Looks like your confusing gigabit vs gigabyte. As far as static IP's on a switch, that will definitely normally work fine, and if some reason it doesn't that's a failure on Sigma Integrale's design.
I'm so glad Tom said that at the end about the noise. I've been looking at a motion system but my rig is upstairs, so was wondering if this would be the case.
Does this feel like it’s been a while in the making or what? 😛 Either way glad to hear you’re generally impressed with the kit - and to hear just how much it undercuts the dBox on the price tag 😯 Having had the fortune to work with a Motion Systems Qubic series 4-actuator set when dialled in I agree they can be great for adding seat feel even if it doesn’t translate to pace improvements!
Sounds like a good sense of bumps and curbs! I have also purchased a sliding motion simulator and have started to distribute driving videos on this account.
Hi Will, thank you so much for another awesome review. Actually I'm undecided between the sigma integrale or the Simrig sr2, which would be a lot cheaper but has no ability to simulate f.e. engine vibration as far as I know (or another option: no motion and saving the money 😆) how much impact does the vibration has regarding the immersion for you? Is it like 'nice to have' or 'essential', meaning without vibration / tactical Feedback there would be something 'missing' from your experience? Of course tactical Feedback could be added with buttkickers etc, but I would rather prefer an all in one solution rather than adjusting the buttkickers separately. As always thank you so much!
@@davidjefferys4489 youtube keeps deleting my replies ^^ yes I chose the SR2 and I'm very happy with it. But the DK2 is a very interesting option, I didn't choose it because of import fees to the EU and poor reseller availability here...

Great review as always Will! Maybe you are planning to take a look at the new next level racing motion plus platform? It would be nice to see your opinion compared with Dbox and this Sigma integrale motion systems. Thank you!
G'day Will and Tom, great review. How do you think this system would integrate with the Next Level GT Track cockpit? My setup is currently sitting on 6 castors. Making some brackets wouldn't be a problem to adapt to the the profile style mounting, more concerned about the possible flex and load on the main frame of the GT Track given only 4 supports vs 6?? Cheers, Paul
@@boostedmedia Hey Will, the latest Next Level racing motion system seems to work on the GT Track frame from the ads at least. Your right, I think the rigidity of this style compared to the profile style may impact somewhat??
Hi Will: have you thought about making a comparative and category classification of all the products and devices that you have tested? I mean a rating from 1 to 10 (with decimals) so that we can get a quick idea of the true level of all of them. In each tested item you would only have to include the classification at the end, so it would be available in all of them and looking at the video of the most recent one, we would have all the items available. For example: if I want to buy a steering wheel, I would only have to go to the video of the most recent steering wheel and at a quick glance I would see what the true level of all of them is. Then I could calmly go watch the video of the steering wheel that interests me and I would avoid having to watch 10 or 20 complete videos only to end up more confused than at the beginning. Or would that be too difficult for you?
It’s an idea we’ve considered extensively, but so much of this is subjective it’s very hard to put a number on something. We thought about a points system but yeah. Not sure. It’s not off the cards though.
@@boostedmedia Yes, it is quite complicated (I know). Because as you indicate the process is all subjective. If they were complete kits it would be very easy: it would only be a matter of putting the times achieved on the same circuit. It would only be a reference for us anyway. Your opinion is better than going blind to the store. If the decimals are removed, it could be viable. It is only about establishing a first classification: very good, good, normal, bad and very bad. And then, within the result, better or worse. Automatically you have a grade from 1 to 10 almost effortlessly.
Is that rattling and clicking happening with all DK2s? And if not, would it then be quieter than the DBOX?
Рік тому+5
Unfortunately, this was an independent issue with this demo system. The system is 60-65 dB at full speed. The floor reverberations are much more pronounced and can be 'silenced' by having the system on carpet or a gym mat. :-)
What frequency does this run at? Is it 60hz for iRacing like their FFB telemetry? If you use irFFB does it run at 360hz? Great video as always, just looking for more info.
For iRacing, the shared memory telemetry rate is 360 Hz, and that is what the DK motion system uses. This rate allows the road vibrations layer to be highly detailed. However, other game telemetries are still at 60 Hz, so we implemented an algorithm that artificially boosts the telemetry rate for these games. AC, ACC and R3E are games with a telemetry rate that is 300+ Hz. For all other motion layers (pitch layers, roll layers, heave and engine vibrations), 60 Hz is more than good enough.
There are various reasons a system can display some lag, from the hardware down to the software and the users settings. When making diy sfx there are also areas where a user can get something wrong on hardware settings itself (dbox etx dont ask you to change servo driver paramaters). The servos used in the SFX system are fast and powerful enough that if everything is done right there shouldnt be lag thats perceptible compared to other systems.
Question, thanks to this review I ordered the DK2 system :D. But I need a new rig (have a tubed rig now). I really like this Track Racer TR120 but is the bottom of the frame stiff enough for it? (because it has the curved connectors in the middle of the frame)
@JDZA 916 I already received it. Was delivered within 2 weeks! (To europe) Not sure exactly but out of my head the total costs were about 5100 usd for the system 170 shipping and 500 euro duty taxes for the import. No we didn’t. We decommissioned the Traction Loss system after the review as it complicated making our racing videos. We’re going to be testing it with NLRs new motion system soon. Might try it with some 4 actuator systems after that.
Can two different systems be used in conjunction with each other. For example can I use the Sigma Integral DK2 with the PT actuator Traction Lose and Surge System. They would use different software so do I run 2 sets of software at the same time.
@@boostedmedia no worries - thanks for taking the time to reply & keep up the great content, even if it does end up costing me $$$$ after I watch it and realise that there's something else for my rig that I never knew I needed
If your aim is lap time is a traction loss system more important than a system like this? Also re the top floor comment would traction loss systems have the same issue?
We only have experience with the NLR system which we have a review on. I didn’t find it made me any faster. Traction loss can be interpreted by visuals and wheel force feedback.
Thanks very much for the very good review! Maybe you could review the simrig sr2, as it is again an entry level motion, and at least for europe, it is again a lot cheaper as tax and sending fees are lot cheaper. Would be great if you could do. Cheers, keep doing such a good job and take care.

A bit too loud for the living room with the wife watching tv, silent enough that i dont hear it with headset at medium levels. I also got a kid doing gaming in the same room i run mine, and she`s not bothered at all, hardly notices it until i crash out. I tested these for a month and didn't experience any rattling in mine. Not to say they were silent, but everything sounded as it should. I would love to try out the DK6 once they have VR motion compensation in their software. Sadly the engine vibration wasn't available yet when I tested it, would have really loved to experience it.
Would it be silent enough to be used in a apartment building? So that the people living below me wouldn't complain? :D
While I doubt this system will nearing gigabit speeds, still better to have the head room (USB 2 is less then half Gigabit speed.)
Secondly, the 'transformer' on the PCB inside the control box, is actually an AC/DC converter. Taking the mains voltage input, and outputting 5VDC 2A. There will likely be a small transformer inside but if that was all it was you'd still have an AC output and that microcontroller it's powering would not be a happy camper😉 Not super important, but thought I'd mention it.
Anyways thanks again for another great video,
Michael
or an ethernet switch!
@@David-qu3ro yeah very well could work! As long as it doesn't confuse the software. It shouldn't since you're just pointing to it with an IP address, however, stranger things have happened when things are done in a way unplanned for by the software/firmware.
A switch isn’t going to work I don’t think as you need to be able to set a static IP for the port the device is connected to.
I think that applies to any rig with motion, my GS5 seat is noisy too and I can hear it over the HP Reverb G2 headphones at full volume
Does this feel like it’s been a while in the making or what? 😛
Either way glad to hear you’re generally impressed with the kit - and to hear just how much it undercuts the dBox on the price tag 😯
Having had the fortune to work with a Motion Systems Qubic series 4-actuator set when dialled in I agree they can be great for adding seat feel even if it doesn’t translate to pace improvements!
Sounds like a good sense of bumps and curbs!
I have also purchased a sliding motion simulator and have started to distribute driving videos on this account.
Hopefully those kits might some day actually be affordable
Did you make a decision? I'm looking at both systems as well. I think the DK2 will be winner.
@@davidjefferys4489 youtube keeps deleting my replies ^^ yes I chose the SR2 and I'm very happy with it. But the DK2 is a very interesting option, I didn't choose it because of import fees to the EU and poor reseller availability here...
@@MaxJacuzzi fair enough mate. Thanks for the reply
Hi Will, I have a question if you don't mind: I currently run 27" triples set just behind my wheel for maximum immersion. If I were to get the DK2, how much monitor clearance do I need? Could I still get away with rising my screen a little but not needing to place them all the way back behind my wheel base? Thank you!
2nd this .. does anyone have the answer ?
@@Raceeverything I ended up ordering a PT Actuators Champion GT (125mm of travel, so it’s longer). I will optimise my monitor placement once it’s delivered and I’ll update you.
@@SalvatoreIovene I´m on the fence considering exactly these 2 options... anxious to hear your take on the PT option
@@felipegalindo1313 got the Champion GT. The 125mm of travel make no matter, I'm still able to run the monitors very close to the wheel. I moved back and higher a bit, but not that much. Only cost me a few degrees of FOV. It's not really noticeable.
you can raise your monitors 3in and should be good. i have mine mounted on the rig. 49in. i had to get rid of my triples cause of space. ive been running the dk2 for almost 2 years
Would be nice to have a option to have them come in all black also 😬
Great review. I’m sold!
Next level racing motion platform or Sigma? Was about to pull the trigger on the NLR but this has me on the fence.
We’ll be reviewing the NLR system soon.
Awesome
I saw SimRacing 604's review on that which is what originally got me thinking about it. I would be super grateful if you include the specific comparison of the NLR with the Sigma. Thank you.
Hi, did you do any testing with VR? i'm interested to know whether there is any sensor interference like EMI issues? appreciate if u could let me know as I'm seriously considering this system?
Good video! Lots of info.
Next time you should upload at 60fps so it's easier to see movements and better game capture footage
Great vid. Always enjoy them. Always.
EL MEJOR canal de Sim Racing, Gracias!
Hard to say but I can’t imagine it would stand up to it too well as it’s not really designed for something like this.
Unfortunately, this was an independent issue with this demo system. The system is 60-65 dB at full speed. The floor reverberations are much more pronounced and can be 'silenced' by having the system on carpet or a gym mat. :-)
What frequency does this run at? Is it 60hz for iRacing like their FFB telemetry? If you use irFFB does it run at 360hz? Great video as always, just looking for more info.
IRFFB only impacts DirectInput, not UDP telemetry so it has no impact on what the motion system sees as far as I’m aware.
One day, cheers, Will.
Dam this is awesome.
Question, thanks to this review I ordered the DK2 system :D. But I need a new rig (have a tubed rig now). I really like this Track Racer TR120 but is the bottom of the frame stiff enough for it? (because it has the curved connectors in the middle of the frame)
How much was your dk2 system total and what’s the shipping time ? Considering getting one or saving more for dbox
@JDZA 916 I already received it. Was delivered within 2 weeks! (To europe) Not sure exactly but out of my head the total costs were about 5100 usd for the system 170 shipping and 500 euro duty taxes for the import. (This is offcourse only if you deliver outside of USA). Had everything installed super easy within 45 minutes. The system is really amazing. 😃

Do you think It’s worth the price if you cannot mount the 32 inch tripples to it?
Quick queston. Does the price include the seat or is it purchased separately? What about the steering wheel?
The price is just the motion system. Not the cockpit
@boostedmedia, can you explain how you added the extra profile in the front? please and thanks
Is this superior to the NLR Motion Plus? I'm just starting to watch the video :)
Yes
@@boostedmedia Thanks man! I love how excited you get when testing the product, seems to bring a big smile on your face :) I'm seriously considering this unit once I've saved up the $$$ for it. I wonder if it is possible to use this with my entry level NLR Wheel Stand 2.0 which has the Seat Add On attached so it's a "complete" cockpit. I'm not too keen of getting a totally new setup because I just got this thing assembled.
How did the Trak Racer TR120 hold up as a motion rig?
Guys is it easy to set up vr with a motion rig?
Ive seen/ read some info online about mounting a controller to the rig iteself but have also heard about tracking issues.
Will (no pun intended) you be doing a feature on it in the future?
Love ur work legends! 😊
At the motion levels these systems run (2 inches or less) we haven’t found it to be necessary. It’s discussed in this video.
@@boostedmedia Ha ha jumped the gun. ☺️ I was only 10 mins in. Still watching tho great review as always champions. 👌
Love the channel, love the reviews, I bought the SIMRIG 2 for my simulator, was wondering if you could potentially review those motion actuators at one point.
Will did you ever try and put the dbox on top of the nlr traction plus thinking of doing this with the dk2. I know Barry srg did this with his. But interested to see what your take is on it. Thanks
No we didn’t. We decommissioned the Traction Loss system after the review as it complicated making our racing videos.
We’re going to be testing it with NLRs new motion system soon. Might try it with some 4 actuator systems after that.
@@boostedmedia Thanks Will for your quick reply 👍
Argh! I want this so bad! How do i get one without having to play it in a tent? Haha
Nice review
Does travel distance mean 50 mm up down or both?
Can two different systems be used in conjunction with each other. For example can I use the Sigma Integral DK2 with the PT actuator Traction Lose and Surge System. They would use different software so do I run 2 sets of software at the same time.
It seemed to work ok for Barry (sim racing garage) when he used multiple ecosystems to build his 6DOF system.
Will you test the SR2 motion system from simrig?
Can this be used with any type on rig??

@@boostedmedia no worries - thanks for taking the time to reply & keep up the great content, even if it does end up costing me $$$$ after I watch it and realise that there's something else for my rig that I never knew I needed
Why do they have the option for 3 and 4 actuators?
Lower price point. Allows someone to get into motion and upgrade to 4 down the road.
there is 4 holes on top of the motors. mabe it's there to add a small fan. mabe the USB port is to plug it? better cooling for the heat exchanger
The 4 holes on top of the motor are for a small fan. But the motors run cool and hence the fans would only be needed for extreme environments.
@SIGMAIntegrale I can't wait to buy you dk2+ So many project but your system make this project obtainable
Can you mount this on a trak racer tr8 pro?
If your aim is lap time is a traction loss system more important than a system like this? Also re the top floor comment would traction loss systems have the same issue?
We only have experience with the NLR system which we have a review on. I didn’t find it made me any faster. Traction loss can be interpreted by visuals and wheel force feedback.
Is there as much haptic as a Dbox 4250i?
Thanks very much for the very good review! Maybe you could review the simrig sr2, as it is again an entry level motion, and at least for europe, it is again a lot cheaper as tax and sending fees are lot cheaper. Would be great if you could do. Cheers, keep doing such a good job and take care.
Si has no motion compensation, have you tried in vr?
Currently being on worked on. ;-) Our current DK customers just apply more smoothing and lower some of the intensity settings for some of the layers.
Sigma? Then if you have it in your rig then you'll achieve gigachad status
If price was the same, would you prefer a dbox or sigma?
That’s a tough call. My main argument against the sigma is that ours is noisier than the dbox, but they seem to thing that clicking sound we have isn’t typical. I think any customer will be satisfied with either choice.
@@boostedmedia will, first of all thanks a lot for your answer. As I use headphones and Vr…and considering the price different…then should be a no brainer. Still have to see what you think of the NLR motion plus!

@@boostedmedia that's super cool! if i can give and advice and you feel like doing it, i believe people really need some sort of clear "comparisons" between the advantages / disadvantages of the various systems...very few people can try the different systems, so it's great if someone can give his take on which system would be the "best", even if that has some kind of inevitable subjectivity.

Completely agree that rF2 is great with motion, it’s my personal favorite. D-box user here.
Can you also let us know what kind of sound this makes for everyone DB if you can
Don’t have a sound level meter. Sorry.
A bit too loud for the living room with the wife watching tv, silent enough that i dont hear it with headset at medium levels.
I also got a kid doing gaming in the same room i run mine, and she`s not bothered at all, hardly notices it until i crash out.
Common for all motion systems: it moves and vibrates a 150-200kg rig like it was 30kg, so any wood floor (like Tom mentioned in the review) will transfer vibrations. Turning off engine vibration, and adding smoothing helps alot if that`s an issue :)

one can get an SFX 150 for $2000 plus shipping. with 3 times the displacement and faster movement at 250mm/s.. I would be curious to have anybody explain how such a system is twice better than an SFX 150.
DIY project vs. fully complete/ready for install product is the only explanation one needs for the price difference. Also, I bought a PT Actuator Scorpion for around the same price and I'm plenty more than capable of building a SFX150, but everything beyond the electronics is much better built on my PT Actuators. I'd expect this one to be the same. (I'm speaking of the heft of the metal work. Watch Sim Racing Garage/Barry take it apart and you'll see what I mean).
@@mikej6565 i also almost pulled the trigger on the pt actuator but nobody could convince me that it was worth twice the price as the eracing lab kit. So i took my chances. So far, almost one year of intensive use and no problems.
