Nice looking Truck Kevin. Lived in Florida all my life never camped Ocala dove though part of it and seem a Big Black Bear crossing the road. Enjoyed it
Yeah, we see bears pretty regularly.
Really liking the Maverick. Seems to chug through the sand well. Hopkins Prairie is a great place to camp. We see lightning bugs around there in early spring.
We actually saw a few the night of this trip.

Man I saw your truck was already all scratched up before you even started...lol. Definitely a braver man than me. That's a big reason I never went to Ocala, just not my kind of fun going places where you're guaranteed to get all scratched up. Cool to see how well the truck does though out there on the sandy trails.

Thanks for reminding me why I never eat beef, $23.50 for 2 steaks versus $6 for a 2 lb marinated pork sirloin. I guess after this run a lift kit is at the top of things to upgrade. Traction doesn't mean squat when you bottom out and the wheels are in the air.

Nice truck bud, just be careful on lifting it and putting larger wheels and tires on it. I know someone who recently bought one and put 2" rough country lift kit on it and K02 larger tires and his MPG dropped from 30mpg to 23/24mpg
Yeah, I don't really plan on doing much. It gets me to where I want to go. If anything, just some BFG's.

Maverick coolest vehicle there Dodge pretty cool looking to but come on a Lexus that's like a family of four going to church kind of vehicle
Thank you. The Lexus is actually the most capable vehicle out of the 3. It has a center lock differential.

We were not at the campground. Look at Google maps and you can easily find the trial we were on.

I'm glad I found your videos. My FX4 Area 51 Maverick is scheduled to be built the first week of June. I'm very excited to get out to do some camping and diving. I'm glad to see that recovery boards fit well in the bed. Which brand do you use? Enjoy your new rig.
I hope you get your truck soon! Do you live in Florida? Basically, any of the cheap Amazon traction boards are fine. Bull boards are ok, but are usually shorter than others.

It has power to the bed. But I literally just picked it up and didn't have time to mess with it.

Looks like everything worked perfectly !! The Maverick looks at home out there !! I’m glad it performed well. I also had the same thought about the different off-road settings. lol 😂 I have the fake Jeep Renegade trailhawk with those same options. Now I’ll have to give it a try !! lol 😂

You ever deal with ticks around the prairie area? I was out there a few days ago and when I got home I had two on me and there was like 10 on my dog, they were lone star ticks
The ticks apparently don't like me much. I haven't had a tick on me in years. But I hear they are bad this year. Between finding them on dogs and people finding a few crawling on them.

It's pretty dang small to sleep in the bed.

You would be able to get the front wheel drive out there probably after a rain storm and the same is all compact.

Usually once or twice a week.

I'll have to go back and look. I know they were ridiculously proced. Like over $200. They aren't worth that in my opinion. A company sent them to me a few years ago.

im replying to your freedom boat club video because you turned off commenting, just delete that video man, it was a waste of time. you just rambled the whole time. people just want to know how much you paid and any hidden fees, how often you used the boats and was it worth it. just break down the costs to do it. you didnt give any of that? it was so simple. .maybe 2 minutes max. but you rambled for 13 minutes.

All the driving through these forests has ruined the great hunting that used to be in Florida. Shameful management.
This past season I saw many groups of hunters using dogs and cell phones to call people in vehicles racing around to corner a single 100 lb deer.

Great channel but I live in Tampa and Florida is flat and boring. Great for water and beaches but no wilderness just swamps

I'm in Tampa as well but make regular trips to Brooksville area and frequent the nearby Withlacoochee State Forest. Some beautiful rolling hills up in the general area and it doesn't feel like "flat Florida" :)
