@DOMINION PIE my Mav is currently the fastest Maverick. I run a Corsair turbo, basically all important support mods, and run an E30 tune from 5Star. I'm at the limit of the factory fuel system. About 200lbs weight reduction and hp estimators put my Mav at about 420-430hp at the crank based on my 114mph trap.
I went to your channel, hoping to see the promised follow-up video but alas, it doesn't seem like it ever happened. This was pretty cool all by itself but I would have liked to see what could be done with a few mods.
Any foresight on turbo upgrade options? Are 😢Focus ST or RS turbos direct replacement? Any ideas on the limits of stock engine and trans? Any major drive train loss from FWD to AWD, or is it minimal?
Great content Alan, as always please bring us more ST videos! Even if it’s just tuning a customers 2867 or 3071, I love seeing capabilities of different turbos on the dyno!
My concern would be that the AW F8F35 transmission is only rated for 260 lb/ft of torque (which seems like an oversight from Ford considering the output from the factory motor is 277 lb/ft). Time will tell if the transmissions can handle the extra power from these tuned versions
If it’s any consolation my maverick has been tuned (id speed e30 tune) for roughly 10k miles and regularly pulls trailers, goes Offroad, etc. No issues so far
@edgeautosport Alan thank you for tuning my Maverick Tremor. Still a work in progress I’ve had a few health setbacks on my part and you have been gracious working with me ❤. Mods are CTR50 Turbo ( stock 40 honed out to 50 mm because no substitute on my timeline) CVC Aluminum Intercooler and stainless Intercooler tubes, Turbosmart BOV, NGD Irridium 1 step colder plugs, AFE Intake with wet filter, UPR Dual Catchcans and finally the Cobb Access Port tuned by Alan. Man what a difference since Alan took over the e-tune process. I bought the Cobb AP from Edge Autosport and immediately noticed instant torque and shifting is fantastic and I’m not even running sport mode. My dream is for Edge to find more upgrades possibly a better compatible turbo, hpfp and more. But for now I’d like to get it to Edge in Colorado to have Alan Dyno tune it and work in some E-30 and E50 tunes. Oh and I’m running 3 inch exhaust including down pipe. Nothing near me in Knoxville TN runs and sounds like my UNSUSPECTING car based Mini Truck 🎉🎉🎉This Truck is faster and funner thanks to you. Thank you again ❤❤❤
We need the maverick install and pulls. Plus, suggesting, on website you have "kits" for power numbers. Looking to get st to 400 and navigating all the parts is troublesome.
@@EdgeAutosport OK. I have a 24. I also have hp tuners becaus i use that to tune my vette. Prolly just use that. Gonna violate the warranty with less than 200 miles on the clock 😂😂😂
I also have the Awd FX4 Ecoboost, I don’t like that the sport option for the transmission is not on mine. Maybe because I have 4k or because of FX4. The standard transmission settings for shifting isn’t too great. It upshifts way too early. I hope a tune at some point can fix this but I’m not trying to void my warranty on a new vehicle
Would increasing the Mavericks torque increase its real world towing capacity? What about dropping in the 2.3l out of a corsair? No im not asking for RATED towing but rather real world application
The Cobb Accessport is the easiest tuning process on the market. You can open the box in the front seat of your car, and flash a tune in minutes. Even if your car is completely stock, plug in the Accessport and turn up your horsepower with an OTS tune. They are on sale until midnight too! edgeautosport.com/cobb-tuning-accessport-ford-maverick-2022-2023/
It'll be cool to see what it makes if you guys adapt a 2867 on here, or something of the like. With the 3600psi pump, I hope we see a bunch of 11 second Mavericks in the near future!
Might seems like a silly question, but I don't know much about those AWD system. Do you take any precaution to make sure the AWD system doesn't kick off during the dyno test (make the back wheels spin? Or do you just assume it won't happen since the front wheels aren't supposed to slip?
Honestly I just started seeing these mavericks lowered and such. I think it’s really cool, I miss the mini truck days but it’s killing me that this thing is front wheel drive……like WHY would you. Make it a front wheel drive teuck
Lol, If you are referring to the intake, That is a very debated modification on the stock turbo. I'd venture to say that just a drop in filter would give you the same performance, and that may be the same performance as stock.
Here at Edge we LOVE real world testing and would love to take one of these to the track. Unfortunately this one doesn't belong to us so we can't take it out for a Bespoke Rip.
This is an absolutely ignorant statement. My Mav has been tuned for 26,000 miles, and has had ZERO issues related to tuning or drivetrain, or any issues at all actually.
why do people increase the HP on the eco boost 2.0 engine. I have seen one taken apart. it has weak parts. lots of plastic parts. junk. I actually ordered the hybrid Maverick Engine. its a much better quality engine. Ford thinks so too. They now charge an additional $1500 for the Hybrid. The Crappy eco boost is now standard.
Enjoy your 150hp engine when your battery runs out going up hill or passing a truck on the highway 😂 the 2.0 ecoboost is a proven platform on the focus ST’s. It’s one of the best 4 cylinder engines on the market. Not some junk atkinson cycle eco box-ticker motor.
Can't wait for the prices to drop a bit and finally pick up a Maverick since the Lobo one is gonna be too expensive
Truckus se 😅😅
What else can we do to it !
It's about damn time! I messaged a couple months ago about this. I have my Mav running low 12s now at 114 mph, glad you are working on these!
lol what? low 12's with what? 500 hp and 500 lbs weight reduction?

@@JD-rq7il man id love to see a video of that. such a cool truck!!!!
What all have you done and who are the best parts suppliers?
Thanks!
@@JD-rq7ildid you do anything for the transmission?
Seeing you guys turn a Maverick into a rally weapon would be a neat series.
I second this
We might be in the market for a shop truck, to help move parts around...
Yes please
Makes me crazy when you have to guess what the heck is going on. Is this a 2.0? A 2.5? 2wd or awd with the rear shaft pulled?
I went to your channel, hoping to see the promised follow-up video but alas, it doesn't seem like it ever happened. This was pretty cool all by itself but I would have liked to see what could be done with a few mods.
We want to see it too Barry, but we don't own a Maverick. Bring yours by and we can make this happen

Only time will tell. Hopefully the people at Ford really underestimated that unit
If it’s any consolation my maverick has been tuned (id speed e30 tune) for roughly 10k miles and regularly pulls trailers, goes Offroad, etc. No issues so far
Ford really under rates these trans

Awesome video! Looking forward to some dragy/track runs with your custom tuning.
Please 🙏 make just one video on the 2017 and up Fusion please
X2 all the 2.0 and Sports... it's unfortunate we lost support from the Cobb platform 😭 but SCT hasn't been too bad I guess
I'll see what we can do..
Excited to see the sleeper that comes out of such a tame looking truck
Everyone loves a sleeper!
How did you disconnect the rear wheels? Aren't all eco boost awd?
Just unplug the RDU and the back wheels don't drive.
How did u guys lock the car in gear without paddle shifters? Trying to tune my maverick but can’t keep it from downshifting during my datalog
Go into trans tuning and change the speed parameters so it uses one gear. Or at least that's what we do in hpt.
Did you tune the transmission too? Did he ever come back?
I would realy like to know some speed stats, like 0-60 before and after, 1/4 mile etc
We need the maverick install and pulls. Plus, suggesting, on website you have "kits" for power numbers. Looking to get st to 400 and navigating all the parts is troublesome.
How much will 93 tune gains be
Great news, it also works with Maverick FX4? Thanks!
Are you able to tune 2024 mavericks?
Cobb doesn't have any 2024 support on the site yet. We hope to see it populate soon!

Any updates? Video is 6 months old now. Did you abandon the project?
This is not our own project, it's a customer car!
Was your maverick only front wheel drive, or can you shut off awd for the dyno?
How does a tune like this affect the all-wheel drive while it's in four-wheel drive?
The truck will feel quicker, and more powerful!
Finally 🎉
You’re here in CO?! I have a 2.0 AWD with the FX4 package that I want to get things going for. Looks like this might be the shop

Do only coob offer the gear lock for dyno pulls on 4 wd mavericks?

I was considering this, or a Kona N for my next vehicle. Kona starts out with 50 more hp, nice to know that gap is fixable with just a tune lol.
Would this be true of any 2.0l ecoboost.. I have a 2020 Escape
Any updates on mods for this truck?

Deactivating the rear wheels involves removing the signal that would tell them to spin. This means there is no way for them to kick on.
I wonder how it affects reliability! I’m getting one either next year or after and I don’t think I want the hybrid anymore! 😂
What is 93 tune but out for power and torque
Is this the hybrid or ecoboost maverick?
Eco
Honestly I just started seeing these mavericks lowered and such. I think it’s really cool, I miss the mini truck days but it’s killing me that this thing is front wheel drive……like WHY would you. Make it a front wheel drive teuck
Preaching to the choir. You can still get mini trucks, but their numbers are dwindling for sure.
Did you guys end up making more videos for this? I have one on order and want to upgrade it.
The car doesn't belong to us, so we are waiting for the owner to upgrade more and come back for another tune!
Hi can you please dyno a hybrid maverick? I’d like to know the actual HP and torque
Lol. Why?!? That makes zero since.
The stock tune already puts out more torque than the transmission is rated for.. why would you increase the power 🤦♂
Actually, tuning the car voids the warranty ☝🤓
Can you tune my XL hybrid?
I believe this would only be for the EcoBoost unfortunately, tuning the Hybrid would defeat the purpose of getting it if you’re after those MPGs.
*Promo sm* 💃
Clearly you don’t understand what stock means.
Lol, If you are referring to the intake, That is a very debated modification on the stock turbo. I'd venture to say that just a drop in filter would give you the same performance, and that may be the same performance as stock.
i wanted to see a real world evaluation....give us 0-60 and quarter mile times....you can always tweak the dyno numbers....not real..

that cold air intake, tells me to stay far far away from anything you guys touch.
What makes you think that Edge Autosport put that on?
