- The Cybermen have had a wide range of appearences over the 41 years they have been on our screens, join me today in exploring every design they have ever had starting from the tenth planet all the way to their accenssion.
All music and Footage is porperty of the BBC
My favourite Classic Who Cybermen are definitely the original 1966 ones, they are so creepy especially the fact you can see their hands and they're much closer to human than the later iterations, really reminding you where they came from. As for Modern my favourite are the 2020 Cyber Warrior design, they're a fantastic blend of previous Cybermen designs while also being very unique and of course very technologically advanced, it's a perfect design and I hope we see more of them going forward!
On another though... Can't believe we've got brand new Doctor Who today, after 13 months of waiting it's finally here! So excited!
I don't like their spikes, though. They serve no purpose, so why would the Cybermen add them?
tenth planet and the invasion cybermen were peak honestly
The invasion zippers are kinda goofy. Later designs would fix this issue, but make the helmet much bulkier.
@theylivewesleep.5139 I do like three invasion designs but I agree with the zipper and shoes however I think they fixed those issues in Revenge of The Cybermen
@@CP.Productions I would like to see the return of cyber-tracksuits. They can explain it as being skin that’s been transmuted into a flexible mesh that hardens on impact.
What I love about the Cybermen evolution is there has always been an aspect of them that has always been recognisable!
The best model of Cybermen IMO were, the Tenth Planet, the Moonbase, Tomb of the Cybermen and also Earthshock.
I must agree there they are the best of not only the classic but all of new who as well
Moonbase and Tomb had the best voices for sure
That's like four different models dude
The 2013 design from Neil Gaiman’s _Nightmare in Silver_ is my favorite. It’s all streamlined and perfected, with the face that hearkens back to the Classic _Who_ era.
My favorite Cybermen design has to be the 1980s versions. The modern versions are great and all, but you also gotta respect the classics.
"Ah KNOW that object..." -- Earthshock
Each Design has something to like. Only thing I don't like about the "Modern" cybermen is the glowing bits. On the chest. That seems to Toyetic to me.
I can agree there each design has something unique and special to them I just find the design from nightmare in silver is to toyish and misses what the cybermen are
Debut Cybermen definitely the best in my opinion.
Friend, you need to better balance voiceover and music.
There's times when I could not understand a single word due to the background music.
I like the 2013 design, perhaps it's a little too Ironman-esque, but I think it lends itself to looking like a functional machine suit rather than a costume. The creepiest ones and my favourite are the original Mondassian Cybermen and the modernised version. Something about the masks is far more unsettling than the steel faces of the others, perhaps because you get the constant reminder that there are people inside the suits suffering.
I agree the creepiest design by far is the Mondasaian, I myself are not a huge fan of the 2013 design however it is somewhat better then the wheel in space design
IMO the older designs are generally better thought out. The design needs to be utilitarian with added space for machinery to enhance muscle strength and various computer and sensor systems to interface with the brain. This suggest simple shapes in one piece to create resistance/strength whilst providing the necessary flexibility. the single material suit design makes more technical sense. For the modern era designs, the complex panels shapes look more like design embellishments rather than driven by a need to access the interior. There is also a lack of life support. Even if the only human bit left is the brain itself, you need some ability to generate biological energy and take a breath. If you have an armour style design, I think you would tend to move towards plate armour designs from the middle age. Whilst complex, these are also simple shaped metal pieces.
My own view is that taking the classic Who designs and adding modern construction and make-up materials would most likely provide a better representation (which is why the modern Mondasian design is as good as the original). I would also except Cyberunits not to get washed very often, so those deployed outside ships/bases should be stained and rather dirty (but NOT rusty). Getting the voice right is also very important. On the whole classic ones are better. There should be no emotion as well of course.
Not a bad video, but the background music was perhaps a bit loud.
Thanks for that, still learning hopefully I should improve over the next coming videos, if you have anything you want me to cover just say 😁
The best cyberman is all of them they should all be mixed, and mathere are race focused on Survival, they will prioritize resources. Military leaders will be the new design while the weakest will Be the original
what i want to know is the newest NON timelord cybermen. they adapt like the borg. can they take on the darleks. like super showdown
I’ll start planning a video to see if the new cyber lords could beat the daleks now!
Great work!
Thank you!😁
I've been watching Doctorr Who on and off from the days of the 5th Doctor and my all time favourite baddies were the Daleks. I have changed my favourite baddies now to two even though one of the baddies has only been once. They are Vashta Nerada and the Cybermen.
I feel the latest Cybersuit feels more feminine than anything else.
Really controversial but I must admit that I really don’t love the 80s designs that much. Also the portrayal of them are far too charismatic then i ever think cybers should be. Though the stories they appear in are great of course
I don’t know why but I actually love that Cybermen especially the cyber leader being very emotive and charismatic very interesting and ironic in a way I find it makes them unique I can understand why that isn’t for everyone though
You didn't include The CyberMasters?
You’re right I didn’t, I felt as they were time lords that had been converted they deserved their own separate video on them which I am in the process of making
@@CP.Productions I'm surprised you didn't include Ashad since his design is quite unique too.
music way too loud and you speak with no enthusiasm
You don’t see the cybermen 3 times either in the second doctors era, 4 times, moonbase, tomb, wheel and invasion
Ah my mistake 😂
It’s fine lol, I used to always forget about invasion lol
Sorry - so called Who lost it when Cybermen became Iron Man rip offs
I don't think you know what a cyberman or iron man are
They have literally nothing in common with Iron Man. Other than advanced technology which the cyberman have always had The guys had freaking time travel at one point
@@plantainsame2049 I think hes talking about the chest light in the newer cybermen
@@generalgrievous2202 Oh yeah because iron man invented the concept of having glowing fucking lights
@@plantainsame2049 lol, I'm not saying I agree with Michael's comment, just guessing what he was talking about
If you mean the MCU version, the Cybermen in the new era of Doctor Who beat them to the screen by two years (Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel was broadcast on 13/20 May 2006 - Ironman movie entered theaters 2 May 2008 (US release)).
