    Don't forget to have your doctor sign letter for handicap placard or tag from DMV. You may think you don't need it, but trust me, it will come handy.
    I look healthy, but disc ruptured and gel damaged my nerve...my VA surgeon got me walking again, but missing almost all of that disc. Veteran Affairs gave me a hard time but I kept fighting, until I prevailed and proved damaged occured in military.

    Thank you CCK, watching this video and a few others made all the difference in my understanding the particulars of my low back pain and sciatica and effectively advocating for increased disability compensation and understanding the specific type and kind of supporting evidence required. As a result, I used FDC and my increased disability claim was rated within 4-months after filling for an evaluation for increase - which was granted.

    Just some info for all. I was discharged due to a compression fracture in my lower back in 83. I filed for stenosis as a secondary around 2019. I was awarded 20 percent for it.

    Thank you for this video. I have been claiming back pain over and over again not know that this was the proper term. My left calf muscle constantly goes numb on me and sometimes I can’t feel my left foot if I sit for too long.

    The VA gave me a surgery for a full Lamenectamy and addedd two new discs. I injured my back in a firefight in 1968. I had the surgery in 2010 but still have low back pain, sciatica pain, drop foot and my left leg goes numb after standing for s short time. I have suffered two falls this year due to my left leg collapsing. Do you think I have a claim.

    i fell from a waterfall, while i was in the army... 1975... bruised my spine, fractured both elbows, broke both big toes, and concussions on my head.., years later i rec'd 10% on each elbow, 10% on my back... which is 30%.. recently i rec'd 20% for the sciatica on my right leg. which makes it 40%... my podiatry Doctor , believes my sciatica is causing the numbness in left leg, both my feet and toes,.. should i talk to my American Legion Sponsor, or file a form myself ? thank you for your channel... God bless

      Hi! For help filing an initial claim we recommend reaching out to a VSO such as DAV, or reaching out to your American Legion Sponsor. If your claim is denied and would like assistance appealing that decision, please reach out to us! Have a great day.

    I got denied for my lbp , but the examiner said they do recognize I had in service events. But no current diagnosis. 8 years later I now suffer from sciatica and radiculopathy. I just opened a supplemental claim for my lbp. If I get a rating. Will the examiner rate me for sciatica and radiculopathy or would I have to file that as a secondary ?

  • @charleslawhon4047
    @charleslawhon4047 2 роки тому

    I was just denied over Sciatica ! I’am service connected with a back injury that was supposed to be separate from my back but the VA just pyramided me with the said 40 % was what I had already receiving no more ! Now I filed under a secondary claim for an increase with Sciatica because my back was injury separated as a 3rd.4th. & 5th. Vertebra was were touching no cushion they called it a back genitive age increases ! Now I’am denied ! What where do I go ?

    Do you have to specifically claim sciatica or can they add it on a in a Reexamination for a lower back pain rating?

    Can tell me if I serve in the eighty’s and now having some problems like your discussing in your video can I qualify

    • @joenewman7807
      @joenewman7807 2 роки тому

      Yes you can qualify. 1. You have to prove a "Stressor", or the service connected cause. 2. Be diagnosed. 3. Have records of treatment, can be military or civilian doctors.

    Does having surgery and having nerve burning also help but has never worked??

      Also curious about sciatica that requires surgery? Rated @ 10% during C&P exam (of course tjis was not during a flare up, but Ihad submitted written stmnt describing flare ups) within 6 months of VA healthcare, had a horrible flare and VA docs found moderate to severe stenosis
      erve impingement and sent me for energency surgery. i filed for temp 100% due to surgery, what may happen to my rating after the temp 100?

    What’s the difference between sciatica and radiculopathy ?

    • @CCK_Law
      @CCK_Law  7 днів тому +1

      Hi! Sciatica is pain along the sciatic nerve, affecting the lower back and leg, while radiculopathy involves nerve compression in the spine, causing pain, numbness, or weakness. Both conditions can be service-connected for VA disability benefits and are rated based on severity and area affected. Providing strong medical evidence is key to securing compensation.

    Does this info apply to non veteran. Just took a mri that came back abnormal.
    But been off work for awhile
    Doing physical therapy, I do not have the muscles spasm as often but sitting or standing and certain movements triggers my discomfort xray show mild to moderate L4 and L5 with sciatica.my doctor wants me to see a spine specialist, worker comp denied me cause I didn't say it was injury.
    They don't have the updated last mri findings..I am not in pain I just feel discomfort when doing certain things.. I can't go back to work until I am cleared without restrictions, physical therapy does not have the updated findings either cause results just came back this Friday. I'm
    stuck on what to do about income and if there is some kind of job that would hire me
    With my restrictions

    Is it possible to have chronic sciatica pain as a secondary condition to service related disabilities such as "strain, lumbar spine"? I have had chronice sciatica pain that has worsened since and the symptoms you've mentioned are what I have.

      @Wi77iam 2 роки тому

      @@Wi77iam If you don't mind me asking, did you see the VA for it or did you visit your own doc? I see where I stated I had the nerve pain in my medical record before I discharged.

      @@JK-yw5yn I filled for an increase for my Ankylosing Spondylitis and I was having a flare up on the day of my C&P exam. Didn't have it on my records, however, the doctor was following the DBQ and she had to check for it.
