I have PTSD and military sexual trauma. Approved for 50 percent after 18 years in appeal for a higher rate. Going for 100 percent. They will pay me everything for what they did to me.
I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my UA-cam channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

My combat action and origin of PTSD was well documented and it still took over 17 years for the VA to acknowledge my disability and they granted me 3 months of back pay. Despicable considering the hell I had went through all those years without any help whatsoever. I went to psychiatrist after psychiatrist and all diagnosed me with severe PTSD . Yet the VA psychiatrist's stated no evidence exists that I actually suffered PTSD and was just a angry individual by nature . And then finally a civilian psychiatrist I had been a patient of for over a year contacted the VA himself and spoke to someone who actually cared about veterans and suddenly all the VA psychiatrist's who I was examined by said I suffered from severe PTSD due to combat .
with PTSD the VA wants you to get treatment from them first.
I have been denied 3 times as well, and each time I learn something different about what should be included when submitting a file. I have pictures of an IUD attack that I witnessed while deployed in Iraq, will those help?
This is the third site I have listened to for help with my PTSD claim, tonight. You guys are the real deal. Thank you for the help. I was triggered when I received a VA Form 10182 stating my case had been sent to The Hearing Board and was placed on the docket. The clock is ticking. You gave me so much more to work with now. I want to request that my C&P exam be remanded due to the limited scope of the assessment by the examining VA Psychiatrist. I have evidence that will demonstrate this. Thank You again.

@@qt5057 I just met a woman at the VA yesterday that thinks she can guide me through the jerks at the Ratings board. Rating board said I had several stressor events but then claimed I didn't have PTSD. BULLSHIT....
What about is after the stressful event the person was at the hospital for one week because that stressful event reminded the other one that happened 2years ago before that one? Today that person still under mediation because that event. Can be this PTSD? The situation was not for combat was because military use their rank to abuse of the power
I'll give an example of my journey with this... My father killed himself in 2006 while I was active duty, I was sent on deployment 3 weeks later. I got out of the military 4 years later and was diagnosed with ptsd/depression. The cause/stressor was traced back to my father's suicide using in service treatment records with complaints. I was service connected. So the stressor isn't always an obvious one... As long as it occurred while you were in service.
You are right, stressors are not always obvious and they certainly do not all fit into the categories we discussed in this video. Thank you for sharing your story!
That does not fit criteria for PTSD and the person who did your C&P examination was reaching. PTSD is relatively specific in terms of criterion stressors. Learning about a loved one's suicide does not count.
Will flight pay and status for search h and rescue the loss of freinds in crashes or constant exposure bodies for ptsd be ok ive been doagnosef and hospitalized for months with ptsd but va still turns me down

I was service connected for Dysthymia, which is sever depression, and mood disorder in 2010. Then VA changed it to PTSD (previously rated as Dysthymia) However they are completely different diagnosis. I was in OIF 1 for 18 months. Can I fight this as two different service connected issues?

My grandfather has records and evidence about being in service during WW2,would there be also benefits for us who have lived for years with him because the situation also impacted on how we have dealt with our lives as a family. We would like to know if you can help us?

I was service connected for Dysthymia in 2010 then it was changed in 2015 to PTSD. Both are two diffrent diagnosis. Is it possible to fight this?

Hey guys I was diagnosed in the service with adjustment disorder and have been turned down for ptsd for the last 10 years due to this I got my c file and it says I have chronic ptsd on the 1st page of my c file what do I do?

I was on the USS Cole during the bombing in 2000 & another incident in 2005 where u was awarded 2 combat action. I lost my fiancé in the bombing too.
I filed for PTSD IN 2006 got denied. Never appealed coz I didn’t know any better. When I reopen my PTSD claim, would they give me back pay from my fist claim?
Also do I need to go to a psychiatrist?

How bout other operations such as operation desert strike would that be enought for ptsd. Stress full event
Thanks for reaching out! There are a number of ways in which a veteran can show VA that they experienced a stressful event in service, including lay statements, or receipt of combat awards or combat-related pay.
If you have a claim for non combat ptsd and the incident happened 30 yrs ago and you cant find a buddy to corroborate your incident and the va has lost your medical records what other ways could you get service connected?

I got a copy of my PTSD exam and I thought the C and P Doctor gave me a good review but the VA wrote me a letter saying it’s being deferred until April 2020

I have been denied 3x already I have 3 Dr's stating that I have PTSD and one is from the VA Dr at the VA Hospital in Houston yet I still get denied.
According to your video that was one thing to have that will help. Any suggestion how I could win my claim.

A VA doctor who is there to provide treatment can only go off of what you tell him or her. They have no access to your C-File or any other pertinent records from your military service. Your C&P examiner does. When your treating provider and the examiner come to different conclusions, it is usually because the examiner found no documented proof of your stressor (e.g. no record of deployment to combat zone or medical treatment for an attack or injury) or worse found evidence that you denied MH symptoms while in the service. Nothing is worse than when your story changes over time.
Well I had grenade accident in basic training I caught shrapnel I'n my elbow hand and leg my trainer caught it in his legs and had a helicopter fly him to a trauma hospital .they RFT me Gave me 10% and kick me out the military.. That was in 1991 I filed for PTSD .in 1995 was denied think u could help.I still have the news clipping..
i have a 70% rating. ptsd is what it’s for. i have had since i got out. please get back with me.
WOULD IT PROVE PTSD
this was very helpful and informative, I am currently on active duty with 18 years in I have 5 combat deployments ranging from the iraq invasion to closing out Iraq, I am thinking about seeking a shrink threw the army, but hesitant to be competently honest with my symptoms of PTSD or TBI for fear of being discharged before my 20 year mark. if i keep it to my self, can I then add in the details ( suicide, anger, fear of crowds) later after I retire and if I wait will they not believe me?
While we cannot provide specific legal advice, if you establish service connection now (even at a noncompensable rating) it is simpler to file for an increase of benefits later on. However, every circumstance is different. We'd recommend reaching out to a veterans service organization (VSO), such as our colleagues at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Hope this helps!
My command refused to feed me every opportunity they could for a year including for as long as 6 days till I became suicidal. Any idea how I could prove that?

@@tboy221 Yes. Jan 6th 2001 I had Hypothermia, sleep deprivation and was starving until I had nothing to poo for unknown amount of days.
I was confused and exhausted and tried to slice open my wrists to bleed to death.
Since I've posted I've found lots of evidence and have been proving retaliation and other things but without help I'm floundering in ways.

@@lylebardwell6716 people claim to attempt cutting (self harm) but never actually go to the hospital or call the hotline. had you called the hotline or went to your medics with cut arms they would have given you attention and written it in your records. you wouldnt be in this situation. think about this. is this an isolated incident? did the suicidal feelings go away after that inciden or are you still suicidal. va pays compensation if you still suffer from stuff. not if you had a bad time while in. like a stressful moment and no other symptoms came about from that. people who get a rating from the va for ptsd still suffer from that ptsd moment. its like breaking your leg. they dont pay for you breaking your leg. when it healed properly. they dont pay for you feeling suicidal back in 1996 because you didnt eat when you are no longer suicidal. does that make sense? remember if you claim a psychological claim be ready to take psychological medications otherwise they wont pay you anything.
Why do they never talk about real world search and recovery is that not considered PTSD in itself
