i'm well aware, heck if you look back at most dragons through myth and legend very few meet the so-called criteria to be called a dragon. I intended this just more as a joke since a lot of people seem to have the idea that a dragon has to have four legs and wings or it doesn't count. guess it didn't come across right.
@@jamesonweimann4720 I only really have one criteria for a dragon for the other types as long as it's able to hold a long conversation with another species or other species, or able to recognize emotional distress and act accordingly it's a dragon. I'm reserving it to these categories because while they may not be as intelligent as humans there are some dragons from myths and legends that were pretty smart that they were able to understand and even learn to do things like a dog. So yes my criteria is they have to be more intelligent than just a raging Beast.

If Lockstin has taught me anything, it's that many Pokémon have multiple inspirations, and saying stuff like "this is the thing that this Pokémon/set of Pokémon is based on" is frequently reductive and prevents people from looking for connections to other myths and legends. So, in answer to the question of "draconic French demon snail or Japanese snail-turned-dragon", I simply say "yes".
I love how you decided to get this to go for COOPA. I think it works rather well. I have a feel like its a mix of both French and Japanese Yokai design. Since it did make its start in France version of Pokemon, and it has such a long evolution, I think they took aspects of both to make Goodra's evolution line up.
