Appreciate you realizing and that is a good thing. We need to always respect the person we talk to no matter what. After all he is also earning a living right? I see that he was calm in answering your questions even when he was spoken to in that way and that really pissed me off and you did that repeatedly. Next time please ask someone if you don't know the language. Everybody deserves the same respect we deserve. Nice video and keep it up!

Street Byte yes ..even I felt little rudeness while talking to the server.irrespective of you know language or not , it’s basically attitude what matters. The intention of the video is good but should have done with better language.i am from mangalore and we try to adjust every time when we have host .so don’t misuse it !

The names of the fish are In tulu and The costal part of karnataka is Tulunad & Konkan Region so there are very few kannada names for fish in karnataka !
Mangalore, Udupi of karnataka and Kasargod of Kerala is Tulunad Region !

Machali is extremely overpriced. So is the case with other 'famous' seafood restaurants in Mangalore, like 'Giri Manja', 'Mammas'. We succumb to our taste buds, and ignore the effects of it on our health. There is too much coloring added and I seriously doubt if it is really 'Ghee' (clarified butter) that is used in the so called 'Ghee Roast'.
It's really easy to prepare similar foods at home, it is cheaper and quality will also not be compromised. Of course, the first 2 times the taste may not match the resto style, but eventually it will.
The restaurant is macahali. A very famous one. The ghee roast flavour is very good. Especially the crab and anjal.

Machali is to fish preparations what Ideal is to ice creams in Mangalore. Hygienic, tasty, easy on the pocket, and, amazingly swift service. The varieties offered cover everything you can think of in sea food... fish, prawns, crab, squids, shell fish, the works...gravy,fry,dry(sukka).... Inspite of being a regular, I have not tried their chicken dishes. When the restaurant is named Machali ( fish), who would want to try anything else?
I would give it 5 star rating without a second thought.

Recently i have been to Mangalore snd loved the place . The people are very good . Their food is simply superb . Their roads are clean and neat especially the markets are super neat . Fish fry is a must try . Ghee roast at Machalis is pretty good . In love with Mangalore . Want to visit again n again
