TRUE STORIES: I use to be a Jurassic Park the Ride opening year cast member at Universal Hollywood. During the testing phase, employee preview party and into the first handful of months of operation the splash down ending wasn't the wettest part of the ride; the Jeep drop scene was until guests started complaining about getting not just wet, but SOPPING WET, as the jeep's splash effect was MASSIVE. Universal turned down the effect to a flicker. It was the best part of the ride, but it made all the other "get wet" scenes less impressive even though many people loved it. ALSO at USH, Steven Spielberg's autographed floor tile is no longer on the floor but carved out and in display next to the main entrance. ADDITIONALLY, hidden underneath the restaurant tables and chairs to the right of the ride entrance is Steven's first draft "test autograph."
I got to experience Jurassic Park The Ride in 1996. It was s fantastic ride and yes I do remember that falling down car making a splash.
I was able to experience this ride just a few months after opening! We rode it once and got soaked and immediately jumped in line to ride it again. Well, the second time the Jeep didn’t drop and when we came around the corner, we saw a boat stopped. We bumped into them and another bumped us. Long story short… we were eventually evacuated. (Only time I’ve been evacuated from a ride) By this time, the park was closed. They gave us a front of the line pass but I never was able to use it. To me, the one at Islands of Adventure was a little underwhelming compared to the original in Hollywood. I can’t wait to ride the revised Jurassic World one. Hopefully, I will get to ride it at the end of the year!
Jurassic Park opened my Senior year of high school. It was so intense! I remember picking my feet off of the ground during the T-Rex scene. 😂 Loved every second! Very iconic for me.
@@peterhedberg9528 awesome! We probably met and didn't know it. They removed the Jeep scene entirely for the new Lost World version of the ride.
@@frankiemoi awesome! Regarding the first T-Rex scene where he's breaking thru the ceiling (look closely at it and you'll notice it's a giant head on a mechanical pole), during opening summer a major accident happened where it leaked hydraulic fluid on several guests. I can't recall what their monetary compensation was, but I do know that Universal bought them clothing. Not too long after that, the crown lift that drops the boats during the final TRex attack and splash down malfunctioned. The mechanism was suppose to hold the boats automatically as the countdown completed before the T-Rex breaks thru the waterfall, which allows a 30 second space cushion between boats in the final splash down. When the lift mechanisms sensor failed to hold the boats, it sent several boats down the drop back to back causing them to back up at the bottom and crash into each other. Several people were seriously injured and hospitalized from that. The accident made the local news and the ride was closed for a couple weeks pending investigation. As a result of that incident, the boats now have rubber bumpers on the backs of them and a ride operator is now stationed at the top of the drop to monitor and control boats going down the that waterfall. Sometimes if you're wearing a hat, that person will hold the boat just to tell you to take off your hat. These are stories that literally nobody talks about! I REALLY NEED to make a video on this.
Do I think that a new Mammoth Club video can make my day better? You bet Jurassic can!
Nailed it
@@halfassfashion thanks!
I've seen countless of other vloggers make a video on the JP 30th BUT none have the attention to detail, nerd facts, and overall appreciation level that Molly has! 🎉❤ #MamFam4LIFE
Molly and Jurassic Park fangirling is a perfect way to start a Sunday. These videos truly are the best when Molly, Alan, and Max are doing stuff they love and we are just along for the ride with them. We can feel how much they’re enjoying every bit of it and that’s what keeps us coming back for all the fun
The "Molly-saurus" moment got me good, thats how i feel looking at any photos of myself lol
I still vividly remember seeing Jurassic Park as a 9 year old with my uncle and brother in the smallest little rinky dink theater and being BLOWN AWAY! "Life finds a way..."
My cousin worked on the dinosaurs for this movie, one of many who did. I always watch to the end to see his name come up on the credits. Love the movie, but it has my heart because of that. Thank you for sharing this!
Love Molly’s enthusiasm. She reminds me to enjoy life and hold onto my own youthful happiness (we’re about the same age)
Watched JP with my sister while she was pregnant because we loved it as kids. I got to feel the baby kick for the first time, after a jump scare! Resisting the urge to buy him all the dinosaur things.
JP isn't usually my jam, but watching Molly get excited will never not make my day. 😊
I love how knowledgeable you guys are! I love how you always point out all of the Easter “raptor” eggs and actually understand them!
This video is why Molly is our queen. I worked at Universal Hollywood for five years doing the Special Effects show and still didn’t know half the stuff she shared. Amazing!
My husband loves David Attenborough - can’t wait to tell him Hammond is his brother IRL. It will blow his mind 🤯
Molly's enthusiasm is contagious😍
Did I enjoy this video? YOU BET JURASSI DID! 🎉
Best comment!
There’s nothing like waking up to a new Mammoth Club video! What a great way to start a Sunday.
Thank you Molly for a very informative celebration of "Jurassic Park's" 30th anniversary and reminding me that this was one of the most terrifying movies I ever saw!!!! Always love all the "Easter Eggs" you share!!
Love Molly's attempts of puns on Jurassic.
My daughter and I ran into you in the AP lounge on this day. We were so excited to meet you again! Thanks for the good advice on using Undercover Tourist for Disneyland tickets. We love Mammoth Club!
I am a huge fan of Molly and a huge fan of JP. I saw it in the theater when I was 11yo and have watched it a couple times a year, every year, since. This made me so happy.
This entire video made me emotional. I've always loved Jurassic Park (the entire trilogy, honestly...) and this makes me so happy.
thank you people 4 being fun and learning about Disney stuff so when you go on another trip, we know more
Raptor chicken wings for the win! Was so excited to watch when I saw the insta teasers a few days ago….surpassed my expectations! Mollys knowledge about movies in general is amazing
I got to take a catamaran around the Na Pali coast in Kauai where some of Jurassic Park was filmed. The captain played the theme song as we came to the green cliffs where the helicopter flew in the movie and I unexpectedly cried! My husband had to stop me from straight up sobbing. Other passengers were looking at me 😂. Love JP so much! 🦖🌴
Deeply love a viewing of Dr Molly Grant! Happy 30th Jurassic park!
Mollyasaurus is everything we needed to see today. Laughed so much. Great video, as always. I do want to go to that tribute store, my inner nerd was geeking out just watching that. Oh and you looked super awesome. That's my Halloween costume sorted. Thank you for the inspiration.
16:51 The books on the left which say "Parc Jurassique", I'm pretty sure are the ones I had (and my parents might still have). They were sold in Petro Canada gas stations, and there were books for the different types of dinosaurs! So cool! These are in French, must have been the ones sold in Quebec.
Jurassic Park is so timeless. I was about 14 when it came out and I saw it 3 times at the theater. And I still whenever I see it on TV have to stop and watch it. It's amazing that a movie 30 years old could still hold up so well. All this merchandise is so tempting.
I LOVED learning all this JP trivia this morning. Hearing Molly geek out was the perfect start to my day. 😂🔥
Fun fact, the triceratops gets sick from eating stones. The stones help them digest vegetation and then get sick while they pass them. That’s why they kept getting sick cyclically.
This store blew my mind the details!! The dinosaurs!!
My favorite character is, of course, Dr. Ian Malcolm. I so wish we had the time to go visit the Tribute Store. Thank you for sharing it with us!!
Dinosaurs eat Man. Molly inherits the Earth! 🦖🌎
I love everything Dino! Especially the Jurassic Park trio. Ian Malcolm is my favorite as well!
Jurassic Park is such an iconic film. I saw it when it came out in 1993 with the new surround sound and it was sooooo good!
This looks like the best day ever at Universal. JP obsessed.
I could watch this video over and over again! Love Jurassic Park!
I hear that music and I still get goosebumps every time. I actually broke my purse-strap in the movie because I jumped so hard when the T-Rex roared for the first time. Molly, massive thank you for not just showing us the merch, which is great, but for explaining all the easter eggs you find in the store, it’s great for those of us up North who can’t bear Florida’s surface of the sun weather outside of Dec-Feb.😂
My FAVORITE movie ever! Thanks for this video 🎉❤
I jumped so hard when Blue jumped at you 😂😂😂 Love that experience!
Okay not sure if anybody will get this but when Molly went through all the merch, the way she listed it all was the same vibes as a video called Muffins by Kelly (the same person who did that Shoes song lol) and it cracked me up 😂😂
Also I think we all need to see Al in an Ian Malcolm costume 😆
We just got home from Universal, and thanks to you, we left Jurassic River slightly damp instead of soaked. I’m a HP fan, but, honestly, Jurassic Park was my favorite. Thanks for all the great tips and tricks that made our trip a success!
Jurassic Park made me fall in love with Dinosaurs. My grandma actually made me a bag for my dinosaurs and a glow in the dark blanket when I was younger. I've loved this franchise so much.
Knocked it out of the park again Molly. Thanks!
BLESS 🙏 you, Molly, for getting the Dr. Ian Malcolm brownie so I could live vicariously through you. And for the whole amazing, detailed video. 🧬🦖🦕
I saw you doing your video I was the blonde custodian that I called your name Molly I was a huge fan of yours and all I wanted was to meet you in person and you shrugged me off!
This was a cool video with all the Easter eggs you shared Molly. I love the Jurassic Park trilogy 🦕🦖
Thank you for this (& everything). 🙏🏽 JP defined the 90s the way Mam Club define recreation content.
Thank you for the awesome video!! As usual full of fun facts🤓, the movie and music score is just the best. You can't walk through that area with out singing it. Girl I'd be there right with you ❤😂
I absolutely love this video. The jurassic Park anniversary is the only reason we came down this past week. Sorry for the jump scare Scott gave you at Valet Wednesday night. He was just excited to see you cause we watch all your videos. lol, it was good to finally meet you.
Molly, you are the BEST!!!!!
omg that Jurassic Park themed room is so freaking cool!
I love love love this. 💚🦕💚🦖💚 My favorite movies. Thank you Molly. This made my day. Working and watching your vlog. 🥰🌻🌞🎉🎶
That store had EVERYTHING! Wow
#mamfam4life
This is definitely one of my all time FAVORITE movies!!! I remember going to see this movie at the theater with my family (i was only 16) and really didn't know what to expect. But OMG i was so amazed at how realistic the dinosaurs were.... me and my sister sat next to each other and jumped (literally) at all the jump scares.... it was AMAZING!! I just remember thinking this is the best movies will ever get....lol 😊 Thank you Molly for taking us down memory lane!!
I love videos like this! 🧡🩷🩵🦣
Out for my birthday meal.... and having a diet vanilla coke, and a blood orange and cherry in honour of Mollys drink choices... between us... that's not one drink 😅
When u like a video before even watching it cause you know it's gonna be great. But jurrasic fan here! Thank you Molly, Alan & Max!
I love your Dr. Grant outfit, it's perfect! ❤🦖🦕
I had to rewatch Jurassic Park after watching this video!!
If you haven't read Jurassic Park, it's a MUST! Such a good book if you enjoy science fiction! Alan, I think you'd like it!
Hahahaha they used tortoises making other tortoises to make some noises😅……only Molly
We saw you last week at the Royal Pacific! We love your videos, they really helped us plan our trip to Universal.
The land Dino tour is the same in the book and in the movie. The boat tour is something they had planned in the book but wasn’t running yet because it went through the aviary which was having issues. Grant and the kids take a raft down the river to get back to the visitor center and escape the t-Rex… but they have a lot of issues along the way, including a waterfall with the t-Rex waiting at the bottom. So the movie really only changes how they get back to the visitor center and give Ellie and Malcom bigger rolls. I enjoyed the movie way more than the book honestly.
Another great job! Thank you so much for your Universal content.
I got so excited when I heard your voice. I was like is it ? And it is you. Your one of my favorites And, great job describing it all. I am totally blind and I could gather a really great visual from my memory. Thanks!
thanks for this super in depth video! I was just there right before the tribute store opened and missed it :( loved seeing not just the merch but that you took time to show and talk about all of the displays! I wish they had this on the west coast or at least somewhere permanent like the visitor center instead of just one for this special event! thank you again!!
I remember knowing JP was coming out and having horrific nightmares about dinosaurs chasing me around the quarries where I lived but still begging my parents to take me to see it 😅
Fun Video, that brownie looks like it could use a scoop of ice cream lol When you combined your DNA with a dinosaur’s I was wondering if a Slithern or a Ursula dinosaur would pop up? But it was just a TRex lol
I love love love your hidden facts! I can't decide my favorite from the Attenborough's being brothers to the Jock Lindsay T-Rex tooth backstory.
.. u didnt know they were brothers???
@@babyhols777 nah, this was the first time I heard of it!
Give the people what they want💚🐍
Love the fun facts! Just don't know what to say about Mollysaurus.
Molly, that intro was EVERYTHING 😂🙌🏼😂🙌🏼
Watching Molly give this tour through the exhibit is better than being there on my own!
Love this video I love the Jurassic Park franchise
We love Molly letting her personality loose! #MamFam
Molly is the most adorable vlogger ever ❤
Keep making the joke! It works!!😂
Hi Molly , I'm David & I've got to tell you -
YOU RULE & SO DOES THIS VIDEO !!!
I absolutely LOVE Steven Spielberg's 1993 Masterpiece JURASSIC PARK & I Love the Tour you give your viewers ( me included ) & for that I Thank You.
Sadly I'm not going to get to Universal Orlando in time to see the Jurassic Park Tribute Store & you have No idea how sad that makes me , but your video made me feel like I was almost there & that makes me happy. Also I LOVE your attire in this Video because for some reason it reminds me of Dr. Grant.
Anyway Thank You so much Molly & ...
This Video is GOLD & I give it 2 Dinosaurs Up !!! 👍🏻🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🦖🦖🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙👍🏻
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME🦖
Diet Coke with vanilla is my favorite Freestyle flavor as well! That's also my favorite Sonic drink! 🤣
Movie nerds united. That’s the real Mam Fam!
Thanks, Molly, for an awesome, well detailed vlog. JP is one of my all-time favourite films, and the T-Rex scene still blows me away 30 years later. I wish I could be there for the tribute store, I'd be wowed by everything and spend an absolute fortune in there
Best video yet! This is so awesome!
Thanks Molly- great video!!

Ohhhh Molly you crack me up 😂also that outfit is fire 🔥
I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for giving Jurassic Park the love it deserves, Mammoth Club!
We LOVE JP and I was so excited to see this video! What are the chances the tribute store may still be open in Nov? I heard Molly say quarterly updates but hoping it sticks around till our visit. We will be spending a lot of time and money in there if so! 😂
Come for the theme park stuff, stay for the great "jur-ass" jokes lol
I liked the tribute stores so much better in their old location next to Mummy. They seemed more themed and larger.
I remember thinking that the dinosaurs were real and being concerned about what happened to them after the movie 😂😂
thank you. going there next week so this video was very helpful.
I’m not a JP fan, but even I enjoyed the tribute store. Thank you Molly for explaining all the details!
Literally what person doesnt like jurassic park wtf..
The merch tour reminded me so much of the muffins video 🤣🤣
going in November, sad I'm gonna miss this 😢
I’m 15 seconds in and already 💀 😂
